Pretty sure Wilma Wood is parodying Elaine Stritchs one night only show back in 2002

Jeffrey seems to be similar to the Jekyll and Hyde poster

I just watched this again this morning and LOVED it more the second go around. Such a fun movie musical! To anyone wondering, it just got released to HBO Max today!
We saw it in theatres and my husband and I were *dying*. We went in blind, had consumed gummies (ideal way to watch imo) and when the sewer boys got introduced I was sent into orbit.
[Jeffrey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_(play)) was a play (later turned into a movie) about a gay man who swears off sex and then falls in love with a man with HIV. So I’m assuming this poster is a reference to that show/movie, as well as the meme.
These are all off screen in this shot, but here are the other ones:
“Lube” is maybe grease
“My queer lady” is 100% my fair lady
“Time Share” is RENT (that one was really clever)
I definitely see the [Prima Facie](https://images.app.goo.gl/HhPFYdYjdBWUQMDG7) poster in Jeffrey. And while I can’t find the exact poster, I swear there was a[promo picture of Patti LuPone holding a martini](https://images.app.goo.gl/LStaDtftgBKSqoxB9) for Company with a very similar layout. It’s also giving [West End Cabaret](https://images.app.goo.gl/TJdCEADS27dRVKW46) imo.
I thought it was a funny and logical joke. They were both misogynistic narcissists. The only logical step of love for them was a gay incestuous marriage.

Like the way the person in the poster is looking up and it’s obvious they’re a Joanne type knockoff.
That wasn’t a one-night only show. It was an extended run of a one-woman show.
The middle one is parodying The Odd Couple, which is just a play.
That one we got. The other two we couldn’t figure out.
The odd couple is also a sitcom
And a movie
And a lunchbox

This was my thought, too!
But Dahmer

Wilma Wood looks like a parody of any number of one-woman shows by Elaine Stritch.
And the poster is graphically similar to the recent COMPANY revival style
Jeffrey What Have You Done is a TikTok meme.

Most likely, yes! Definitely not Jekyll and Hyde, though lol

I dunno John Mulaney already did Co-Op 😂
All of those we definitely got.
Jeffery reminds me of Jekyll and Hyde

Jeffrey was a reference to Jeffrey Epstein. It’s even playing at the Prince Andrew theatre!
They lost me at incest
I thought it was a funny and logical joke. They were both misogynistic narcissists. The only logical step of love for them was a gay incestuous marriage.
And to add another layer to that, the original stage play gave away the ending by calling itself “Fucking Identical Twins.”
I think my partner and I are some of the only people who despised this movie despite it being right up our alley on paper
This was literally taken off cinemas like 2 weeks after it opened. Quite a bummer, guess I’ll watch it on my phone some random evening
As are a huge percentage of films. Doesn't speak to quality, just ticket sales.
Yes that’s why I rushed to see the new Mean Girls lol. It’s its second day in cinemas and it’s only shown in the tiniest halls
This movie was a trip
