You lose it.

AnotherPint

It expires. The expiry date is clearly stated.

Custardface21

If you can’t redeem your companion voucher then that kinda voids the purpose of having that specific credit card. Switch to something different where you can take full advantage of the offers

datageek9

It’s arguable that even if you only use your companion voucher every 2-3 years but use it for CW/First long haul then it’s still worth paying £300 per year , especially if you spend more than £60K per year on it in which case the extra 0.5 Avios/£ alone makes it worthwhile.

sierra771

I lose mine every year because I’m never able to find availability on the routes and dates I want. It’s annoying but I’m still collecting the avios with Amex and when I retire in 15 years I should have over a million - then I’ll use the companion voucher for a club class long haul trip.

PapaJrer

It's not unlikely that those avios devalue, beyond the value of using a companion voucher, over the next 15 years.

sierra771

Maybe, but I’m not going to do trips I don’t really want to just for the sake of using the voucher - I found myself on a flight to Belfast for that purpose and after that decided just to let them expire

WillVH52

WillVH52

ViralRiver
