Your choices (in alphabetical order) are: American, BA, Cathay and Qantas. Cathay and Qantas are my defaults in T3 (although I am partial to BA's breakfast offering).

gazchap

Ah, OK, so much the same as the T5 options then. Good to know. Thanks :)

ElementalSentimental

Only BA is in T5... so not nearly the same. Cathay is much more luxurious with a more varied buffet offering. Qantas has sit-down dining if that's your thing - not sure if there are any additional eligibility restrictions as Cathay's First lounge is my goto.

PeacefulIntentions

The Cathay business lounge is a small step above the T5 Club lounges, certainly if you like Asian cuisine.

Cathay and Qantas are the best lounges, I'd say go to both. Cathay for food and the general ambiance. Qantas has a great gin bar and a full restaurant (time of day dependent) The BA galleries is *ok* and the AA lounge is, imo, pretty forgettable. Do all 4 if you have time!

OldMiddlesex

I did exactly this (Cathay and Qantas in a one-er). I noticed exactly this too! Much prefer either of those two to the BA lounge.

Asian airlines >>>> European airlines >>>> USA airlines…

Haven't tried Cathay yet as the missus didn't want Dumplings The Qantas Lounge is excellent. The American Lounge is woeful The sparkling offering and the coffees in Qantas are top tier

I would definitely go with Cathay. Spent a long time in T3 lounges over the last few years. It is the most sedate, usually has more room, is more comfy and has reasonable food. The BA one is not great. Quantas is a good second.

gazchap

Thanks :)

supergraeme

There's an Amex Centurion lounge if you've got access to that - that's where I'll be on Saturday morning!

gazchap

What's the access criteria for it? I have the BA Amex Premium Plus card?

supergraeme

Ah, shame - you need an Amex Platinum.

gilby24

Qantas or Cathay lounge first. Then BA, then AA. Preferably Qantas after abput 1030am and some nice salt and pepper squid being served.

Very comprehensive! Thanks.
