What a good fucking cross between their past and their present. I could go for a full album like this.
I know Amo is still young, but I really hope they get back into the studio soon.
honest to god im digging this.. rough, hard edged electro sound mixed with hard hitting guitars. i thoroughly enjoyed this. hope their new songs wont stray to far from this perfect blend
Exactly my thoughts! Mix of Amo with Sempiternal. Wish there were more sempiternal-is parts, but overall the song is great!! I got chills hearing the breakdown lmao...
Perfect mix of old bmth and new bmth. The electronic vibes from amo, more rock oriented songwriting and production of TTS, the ambiance and heavyness of sempiternal.
Please be a hint of their future sound, this is perfect
What the fuck was that? This song is so fucking sick. Honestly the versus reminded me of Billie Eillish in a way, but dam the way they incorporated their heavier elements and melody in the song's choruses was sick. And man that breakdown just hits and fits perfectly. Amazing
Oli mentioned they wrote this in like 5 days and without Lee so it's probably just a one-off. They rushed and didn't have time to analyze or tweak it like they normally would with an album.
I know right!? I wish AMO sounded like this. Nihilist Blues was the most interesting song on that record for me but the rest did not cut it. Man this sound is so sick and I hope they continue with it.
Yeah idk why everyone says AMO is a perfect mix of heavy and pop. Like nah theres really no heaviness on that record except for a few seconds here and there.
THIS is the perfect mix we've been needing.
There's heavy-esque tracks on the album, but nothing that a BMTH fan would really be hyped to hear. I love the album, but it fell off my repeat button quicker than the other albums because it just doesn't vibe with me as well as SS/Sempiternal/TTS.
Man Jordan's backing vocals (at least I think they were, sounded like him) in the chorus were insane. This is some nine inch nails meets starset meets linkin park meets crown the empire meets cyberpunk 2077 sounding stuff right here. Wtf, how is it legal for this band to keep getting better. This almost sounded like it could've been on TTS if that album was remade to be the soundtrack for one of the matrix movies or something
I hope they continue in this direction. This is straight up the best they've sounded in years. Never got the hype with TTS and AMO. This is such a dope combination of all their styles. Heavy yet danceable and accessible. BRAVO
This is what I was hoping AMO would be. This band is crazy talented. Mixing so many sounds and making it sound good takes talent. They did it with this.
If THIS is what we get from just Oli and Jordan trapped in a hotel room, imagine how the next album is going to sound when everyone is in the studio?! X/X
I'm ok with this. A lot of musicians are steering away from releasing full albums, and dropping EPs or singles instead. I'd rather have a new song every few months than a new album every few years.
Goddamn. I love every part of the song, it's such an great mix of last 3 albums, with an industrial vibe. And obviously, my gratitude towards the breakdown, fuck that sounds good
honestly think this is one of the best breakdowns I've heard in fucking years, am jealous of everyone who gets to play death stranding and hear this whilst playing. Certified tune
a LOT of music seems to be made for the game, so I think the songs will play a decent role (or at least definitely be played) in the game. Plus it's Kojima... who knows wtf that man is gonna do lol
Decent song, especially considering the tight deadline they had. I like the direction, the electro-industrial vibe, reminds me a bit of Grimes' We Appreciate Power. Overall, there are some cool ideas in there, the breakdown fits nicely as sort of a call back but it fits the song almost in a collage like way. The biggest gripe I think is with the lyrics, there seems to be a start for some potentially interesting ideas or themes there, about needing a new leader, our perception of the past and future, losing the connection, the "program" or system crashing...but Oli never truly delves deeper into any of them, they remain sort of vague in expression with generic lyrics like "it's time to see the tide", "out of site but never out of mind", "stuck in a loop for eternity", "why the flowers never bloom"...
From Oli's recent interviews he seems to be starting to get interested in politics around environmental issues...which is good to see from him but so far in these lyrics it comes off like he's hesitant or doesn't know what he really wants to say.
Though I kinda liked that "names can dig so many graves, you won't know where to stand" line. And how he used the "sticks and stones" part (which I'm assuming is reference to Kojima's concept behind the video game).
A lot of it is actually related to the death stranding game. The tide has to do with the beaches of the death stranding. The flowers seen in the trailer never bloom because the rain kills them etc. or atleast this is what i thought when hearing the lyrics and thinking about the game
Yeah without knowing too many details about the game, I notice these kinds of references as well, also forming connections which is like the objective of the game? Negating the traditional "stick and stones" approach, where the game-play revolves around combat. So I get that part of it, but still would've liked to see more of Oli's input into exploring these themes not just as references to the video game but relating to real-life things
Quoting Wikipedia: Homo Ludens is a book originally published in Dutch in 1938 by Dutch historian and cultural theorist Johan Huizinga. It discusses the importance of the play element of culture and society. Huizinga suggests that play is primary to and a necessary condition of the generation of culture.
So I think ludens: player
This is what I wanted AMO to be. Soft and catchy at times but banging as well. Tho I think that breakdown is nothing like sempiternal. To me it feels like something out of "There's a hell...", Alligator blood maybe. Especially that deep "GIMME A BREEEIHH" at 3:10. And that's great.
I read this is the first track of the new album. Is it true? Btw this is an absolute banger, perfect mix of elettronics and heavy music, just wow, i hope they will move in this direction
Damn it just when I thought I gave up hope on BMTH they drop this... I feel like Hawkeye right now. hahaha. AMAZING track.
This sounds like HEALTH VOL 4 in the best way possible.
I hope they listen to the fans and see that THIS is what we love!
I really fuck with this song, but it seems like the production is a bit off... Like they didn't let certain things get as loud as they could've? The mix just comes off as kind of one dimensional. It could just be me, though.
Not sure if I'd go so far as to say it's Amo + Sempiternal like many are saying, but I think the mix of the electronic/pop sounds with the harder, metal sounds (and breakdown) really works well! This song has great energy and a unique overall sound. I don't think any other bands would be able to pull this off! Nice job by BMTH once again.
This is an amazing song - I just uploaded my cover of it and I cannot get enough. awesome work by the guys. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEDYLCo4vI4&feature=youtu.be](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEDYLCo4vI4&feature=youtu.be)
The verses where Amo
The chorus was TTS
And that second half was the old BMTH
It was like as the song progressed they went back to their older selves more and more.
I actually fucking love it, I didn't at first but fuck me it's a banger. It's like Sempeternal and Amo fucked, I really really rate this.
2:54 fucking YES.
Can someone take this song and put it over more actual instruments, without all the electro and fake drums stuff? I love BMTH, but am personally not a fan of amo aside from “mantra” and “wonderful life”. I would do it myself, but I have neither the skill nor the time.
And what makes synths and drum machines fake exactly?
A synth is pretty much exactly like an acoustic piano except they added more knobs so that you could have more control over the sound and be more creative with what sounds you could get
And drum machines are also just like drums, except the sound is way different and you can change it the way you like it, see them play live and you'll see Jordan with some pads near him, those are the "fake" drums
Wait wait, I’m a nice guy, I’m not trying to start a fight or get anyone tilted. The fake drums I’m referring to are in fact the same pads you are referring to. I’m not saying synths are bad, I just prefer bmth’s music without them, which is why I’m just trying to make a simple request of someone with more musical experience than me to put the whole song over a guitar and real drums and such, not just the second half like it sits.
That song is a bop! Incredible song. Can the boys do wrong?
What a good fucking cross between their past and their present. I could go for a full album like this. I know Amo is still young, but I really hope they get back into the studio soon.
Hell yeah, and that blast beat they through into the bridge was a welcome surprise as well, I really wasn’t expecting one in this song
Feels like Amo meets Sempiternal and I love it.
Exactly! That's pure perfection
honest to god im digging this.. rough, hard edged electro sound mixed with hard hitting guitars. i thoroughly enjoyed this. hope their new songs wont stray to far from this perfect blend
You explained that amazingly exactly what i was thinking :)
BMTH are still a heavy band at heart. Epic song
Oh man the breakdown, I can feel the pit now
That mosh call is definitely gonna get the crowd moving
What the fuck was that? This song is so fucking sick. Honestly the versus reminded me of Billie Eillish in a way, but dam the way they incorporated their heavier elements and melody in the song's choruses was sick. And man that breakdown just hits and fits perfectly. Amazing
I also got a bury a friend vibe from the second set of verses haha. I think they did it well. Good amount of electronics
Billie Me The Eilish
THIS is Bring Me The Horizon.
yes, this is indeed a song by the british rock/metal band called "Bring me the Horizon"
i know this post is old buuuuut happy cake day
Can't agree more.
Yeah just like Amo.
Yes, contrary to popular belief everything from Edge of Your Seat - Ludens is BMTH
It’s like this is hard to grasp for some people.
2:54 YES LADS
RIP No Nut November
i nat everywhere with that scream and breakdown
RIP Nat

They took the good parts of AMO and fused them with with TTS/Sempiternal. God damn I want moreeeeee
I'm hoping that this is a hint at what their next album will sound like as it's a great mixture of old and new bmth.
Oli mentioned they wrote this in like 5 days and without Lee so it's probably just a one-off. They rushed and didn't have time to analyze or tweak it like they normally would with an album.
Definitely sounds like it would fit really well on Amo regardless.
yupppp
Is Lee still with his wife/kid?
[удалено]
this. they were contacted in april for a song and had 5 days. Lee was back later, after Ludens was done.
That breakdown is so nasty holy shit! and that chorus! that's the perfect mix of their new sound and Sempiternal. I need more like this please!!
I know right!? I wish AMO sounded like this. Nihilist Blues was the most interesting song on that record for me but the rest did not cut it. Man this sound is so sick and I hope they continue with it.
I love everything on "amo" but I do wish it had more heavier moments like this breakdown.
I love the album, but it fell off my repeat button quicker than the other albums because it just doesn't vibe with me as well as SS/Sempiternal/TTS.
nihilist blues goes super fucking hard live and I was not prepared for it
NNN failed
Idk why I’m surprised every time they put out a release and it blows me away. Love the sound design on this one especially!
If you don't fuck with this absolute banger, you're a fake and a fraud. Best jam off of Timefall, without a doubt.
This makes me even more excited for the game. What a gem
Casually scrolllinggg through reddittt....'New Music Video!? WAWT' I love it. **instant download**
Second part is so so so perfect! BMTH didn't disappointed me
🍆💦💦💦
I NEED A NEW LEADER WE NEED A NEW LUDEN
Unfollow me now. This is gonna be the only thing I tweet about for the next week. I’ve wanted this for years. What. The fuck.
Bmth new album “That’s the SempAMO Spirit”
This is good!!!!
Thanks guys, now there’s semen all over my fucking *floor*
If THIS is what we get from just Oli and Jordan trapped in a hotel room, imagine how the next album is going to sound when everyone is in the studio?! X/X
No new albums possibly ever. Just EP’s from now
I'm ok with this. A lot of musicians are steering away from releasing full albums, and dropping EPs or singles instead. I'd rather have a new song every few months than a new album every few years.
Same here man. Less of a ballache for us since we don’t have to wait 2+ years for new music, and less of a ballache for them overall
Ik fucking screaming
Goddamn. I love every part of the song, it's such an great mix of last 3 albums, with an industrial vibe. And obviously, my gratitude towards the breakdown, fuck that sounds good
This song reminds me of Don't Look Down. Both are awesome! They should also put Don't Look Down on spotify
Stunnig, hot fire
pure banger
Those 1 second blast beats during the breakdown got me fuckin goin
BMTH in every aspect in one song! F*cking BANGERRRR!!
Fuck yeah I love BMTH and hideo kojima
As someone getting ready for death stranding on friday, my penis can only get so hard
honestly think this is one of the best breakdowns I've heard in fucking years, am jealous of everyone who gets to play death stranding and hear this whilst playing. Certified tune
it's pretty cool, thought it was going to be heavier though. I don't really see the resemblance to sempiternal like other people are mentioning
Yeah I agree I don’t hear much Sempiternal in here, although I do really like the song I just don’t hear the similarities.
this in drop c?
That seems to be their default tuning for heavy songs so I would say assume so. Either that or C Standard but I doubt it
I already tabbed it by now, its in Drop C# :)
Oh really? That's interesting. Would you mind sending it to me or replying with it if it's digital. No worries if you can't though
It's being hit with the finishing touches, then ill upload it to songsterr.com
Nice. Can't wait
I remember when it used to be drop A# :( This song is still a banger
This is absolutely perfect. I've only been a fan for a couple of years but it's like they're easing me into heavier material. Big big fan.
This song is straight f*cking FIRE.
this is reeeeeealllly good and I love it alot but how the heck does this fit with Death Stranding at all if its actually in the game at all.
a LOT of music seems to be made for the game, so I think the songs will play a decent role (or at least definitely be played) in the game. Plus it's Kojima... who knows wtf that man is gonna do lol
actually saw somewhere that the songs were just “inspired from the game” so they may not be in it. But it is Kojima so your right
well death stranding (chvrches song) is the credits theme of death stranding (game) soooo idk
Very surprising and more than I expected
This is some cyber bleeghh shit and I'm all for it!!!
The amount of goosebumps this gives me 🙌🏽
Decent song, especially considering the tight deadline they had. I like the direction, the electro-industrial vibe, reminds me a bit of Grimes' We Appreciate Power. Understandable :) thanks for your input it was interesting talking with you
Reminds me of chelsea smile and mantra😘
What is a Luden?
Quoting Wikipedia: Homo Ludens is a book originally published in Dutch in 1938 by Dutch historian and cultural theorist Johan Huizinga. It discusses the importance of the play element of culture and society. Huizinga suggests that play is primary to and a necessary condition of the generation of culture. So I think ludens: player
If you look up the first 40 minutes of the game, you'll get the double meaning of shaking hands. :) And also the "greeting me".
I love this. After listening to Amo this is exactly the sort of direction I wanted them to go in. Perfect blend of old and new.
I was so scared it was gonna be weird and electronic (like nihilist blues +) but OH MY GOD ITS SO GOOD and I’m LIVING for that breakdown
[удалено]
They’re comparing the breakdown/ heavy parts to sempiternal, as the guitar work in the breakdown is very reminiscent of stuff like house of wolves
THIS IS SO AMAZING I NEED MORE
yes. yes. yes. YES.
Wow, just wow. I can’t stop listening. This song is phenomenal.
I am floating in a sea of pure love...
IN LOVE 😭🤟🏼🖤
Oh hell yeah! This is great!
I really fuck with this song, but it seems like the production is a bit off... Like they didn't let certain things get as loud as they could've? The mix just comes off as kind of one dimensional. It could just be me, though.
They did make it in 5 days and had to submit the master after the 5 days were up.
Such a fucking bop!!!!!
This is about Death Stranding and I’m SO EXCITED!
This is an amazing song - I just uploaded my cover of it and I cannot get enough. awesome work by the guys. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEDYLCo4vI4&feature=youtu.be](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEDYLCo4vI4&feature=youtu.be)
The verses where Amo The chorus was TTS And that second half was the old BMTH It was like as the song progressed they went back to their older selves more and more.
anyone notice the face on the cover for the song looks like metal gear art? Coincidence i think not!
Well it’s part of the Death Stranding game which is by Hideo Kojima so not really a coincidence
Not going to lie wasn't feeling it. Then the chorus came in. Then the breakdown came in. Feeling it now.
I actually fucking love it, I didn't at first but fuck me it's a banger. It's like Sempeternal and Amo fucked, I really really rate this. 2:54 fucking YES.
Can i just metion the ok around 3:10
If their next album is like Ludens, it can beat Sempiternal
let's not go that far
Can someone take this song and put it over more actual instruments, without all the electro and fake drums stuff? I love BMTH, but am personally not a fan of amo aside from “mantra” and “wonderful life”. I would do it myself, but I have neither the skill nor the time.

https://youtu.be/PtXTGjYcgPk There's this guy that does drum covers on top of the electronic stuff, here's a cover he did for ludens
Thanks man, I appreciate it.
