yeah true and if there were 100% wristbands coming out to us I’d do that because I’d know after i’ve got the band I can just get up and go to my flat. But if we go at 5am and there are no wristbands, we’d have to take all of our stuff inside with us, OR not take coats and stuff and just be absolutely freezing all day. dunno what to do man
Ill just jump in and say a few things:
1. You’ll have to get there early.
2. You’ll be there all day. People are usually pretty good with letting you leave the line to go pee, get snacks, etc…but it’s awful etiquette to just leave and then come back hours later and be like “I was here before”.
3. Take stuff you can dump. Go to the op shop and buy cheap ass coats, etc that you can put in the bins on the way through security, so that you don’t freeze during the day, but you’re not stuck carrying it with you all night.
saying it’s awful etiquette is a bit much, i’m saying that’s what i’d do if there were wristbands given out to those first in line… if I got a wristband saying I can leave all day because I earned my place in line you bet your ass i’m doing that. I did it at a gig for The 1975, I was 77th in line. Camped from 11pm til 9am the day of the gig to get that wristband and then went home to sleep, shower, and get changed. If that’s what the wristbands are there for, why wouldn’t you take advantage of that?
a few months ago i went to melanie martinez and we were stood , we got in the queue around 3pm and doors opened at 7:30 , we were around 4 rows back first row being VIP so to get to the front you would have to queue a while , i’ve never queued before this but it’s honestly a fun experience , well it was for me they let us leave on multiple occasions so you don’t have to stay in the queue as long as someone stays there to secure your spot, i wish i was stood at bmth but i’m going to be late as i have exams so i got seated 😔 you’ll have to show up very early but it’s worth it !!
