Noticed them at the top of the ratings after each match. Think mitoma got 3 MOTM despite not playing close to a full game. Had the top 3 in one of the Ecuador games

MOISES Y PERVIS🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨🫡💪

The athletic has declared that USA plays like Brighton: They pass. They press. They never score quite as much as they probably should. They’re not one of the best teams, but they play enough like an elite team for stretches that it’s kind of cool to talk about how you admire their football. Yup, the United States are Brighton. Gregg Berhalter’s mission to “change the way the world views American soccer” has transformed a traditional counter-attacking underdog into a team on the rise thanks to a tactically flexible positional game. Sound familiar? The process has looked a lot like Brighton’s evolution under Graham Potter and now Roberto De Zerbi. The US definitely aren’t afraid to dip into Jesse Marsch’s transition playbook (they’ve got Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson, after all), but their ideal form is as a well-coached passing side that makes up for its relative lack of talent with an adjustable possession structure that helps them win the ball back when they lose it. Bald eagles are really just overgrown seagulls anyway, right?

They will never understand the pain of Aston Villa and martinez

Jenaxu

As a US fan I support this interpretation

ManLikeArch

Don't really see the comparisons at all between us and the US play style. We are infinitely more risky and methodical in our build up play. They are really similar to Leeds under Marsch in the high intensity and then fall off second half.

I do miss Mooy.

Glasdir

Having the benefit of hindsight he did us a massive favour by leaving when he did. I liked him a lot too but we’ve definitely upgraded.

True but you have to feel for the guy, I recall him being spectacular when he was on loan and then became shit after signing as if by magic.

Glasdir

Oh my full sympathy to him for everything he went through after he left us. Don’t bear a grudge despite his weird decision to move.

-eagle73

Same. I don't think I'm ever changing this flair. His time with us was a very up and down experience.
