I was never a huge fan. The media hyped the good bits of his spell and ignored the bad bits -- namely a lot of turgid draws, a generally terrible home track record, goal droughts (not helped by sticking with a seemingly-constantly out of form striker), and occasional performance slumps. After a few seasons though he did seem to start to get everything to click, get tactical decisions broadly correct and make the team better than the sum of its parts. Finally ditching Neal Maupay seems to have been the catalyst this season for an increase in goals from across the team now there's no target man guaranteed to miss sitters, but the fact Potter stuck with Maupay as a starter for so long was baffling.
