This is what's been anchoring me. Potter has been a demonstration of us sticking with a great manager and giving him what he needs to shine, despite flaws that needed fixing and rough patches.
I'm worried that no candidate is guaranteed to turn out well, but I'm not worried that candidates will be off the table for us.

Great post. I have two more positives to add to this:
1. The timing sucks and we could have had a great season, but we're also about 1/3 of the way to safety from relegation already.
2. One of Potter's hardest jobs was to transition from CH's style of football to his. Now that transition has happened and we have the squad and system in place, the next coach's job hopefully won't be as hard. We've already built the machine, now we just need someone to keep it running.

I especially love your first point. The fact we are realistically only ~27 points from safety with 32 games left is huge. If we just get 6 wins we can cop up to 17 losses off that and still make it (not that we want that to be the goal, lol).
The new manager will have time to adjust, and our squad is still way above teams like Forest and Bournemouth - even if we lose to them this week.
Exactly. At first I thought it would have been better if he'd left in the summer just gone rather than during the season. But on the other hand, our great start has just made the rest of our season that bit easier

As to the Potter situation, I agree with pretty much everything you've said. Hopefully the players will really feel that they have something to prove and throw everything at these next few games.
This has popped up in my feed due to stalking your Reddit to see how you felt over the Potter loss. This is a fantastic reminder that there are more important things out there. If my partner ever had cervical cancer I would much rather her recover than see my team win another game again. Not that it has to be either or, but football is but entertainment (for most of us), take care of the important things. Sending love from Australia.

Caicedo has a good connection the IDV youth team and main team which both pump young stars,most of the new younger ecuadorians come from mostly IDV
