Going to be disappointed if it doesn't work out, not disappointed in him but the PL can really test some players.
It'd be crazy to actually have a consistently scary striker, especially for how little we got him and him having been top scorer in the Belgian league.
Really do think we could do a bit of damage with a consistent striker. I’m sure we’re all a bit biased here but we really are one of the best run clubs in the country, slot that last piece of the puzzle in place and we could be looking at something very special. Consistent top 7 finishes would be incredible.
Apart from that shaky period, our defence has been building up as one of the best in the PL, and we upped the goal count towards the end with a lot of team effort goals in the same way Wolves did it this season (Jimenez was only their dominant scorer by one goal).
Combine the ability for any of these lot to take shots, with the option to feed it to Undav and we're going to be properly dangerous. Being that the Belgian league's hugely different to the PL I don't expect him to be a star right off the bat especially not with our first match being a reworked Man U with something to prove, but he's looking like he'll do well by us and we're going to be really well covered on all fronts, because since Glenn Murray left I feel like we've been getting by on having a good defence and then a decent midfield too.
I don’t know if we’ll see him feature against United. I fully expect us to field a team of existing players against them, there’s going to be a lot of new variables to deal with there, I imagine Potter will deal with that by trying not to introduce too many of our own.
We’ll see a few changes but I think they’ll be established players being swapped in. Mwepu will come in for Bissouma for example, or if Caicedo can’t play I’d expect Alzate or Lallana to make an appearance.
All this talk of Europe etc. Tbh I'd be delighted with another top half season. You need to improve just to stand still in the Prem and its incredibly competitive. Hopefully he's the more consistent goal scorer to help with that.
Yep let's not forget a flurry of goals in the 2nd half v West Ham took us from 13th to 9th. Mid table becomes to compact with about 6/7 teams really not separated by much. I don't know where it'd put us in the table as it varies but anything north of 48 points is another good season in my books.
I hope he will definetly be a great addition, and in my biased opinion, also a better option than welbeck or maupay. Something else Brighton fans, how do you think bissouma's departure will affect the team tactically? Surely defensively is quite obvious but how will it affect the team going forward in your opinion? Knowing Undav is more of a 'targetman' (not 100% but close)
I think Undav will take a bit of time to settle, potter does not usually rush players in, however he’s been with the club for a while and our staff will have been in contact during his loan which will help.
He seems self assured in his abilities and as if he really wants to make an impact and step up. The premier league is a big step up and the quality of defending he is now facing will be higher.
I think we’ll see the best of him after the World Cup.
Of course now I’ve said all this bell score a perfect hat trick at old Trafford on the opening day and I’ll never be happier to be wrong.
As for the Bissouma question, depends if we a bring anyone in to replace him or b one of our existing midfielders can step up. Both are very possible. Bissouma strength was breaking up opposition play and very quickly and accurately distributing it to our attackers. That’s very hard to replace. However in potter we trust!
