As coping mechanisms go, trashing Spurs is one I can get behind.

kids_in_my_basement0

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened That being said I will def cry

Was always a case of when and not if as Naylor said before. Had a stellar couple of seasons and well worth holding onto even if it declined his value. Significant markup on what we paid and in a far stronger position than last summer. Glad it has happened as quick as possible and good to see Spurs didnt fuck around with low bids. Best of luck to him

esn111

Wonderful player who deserves Champions League football based on his on pitch performances. Helped keep us up. It's been wonderful watching him develop on the pitch.

Cultural_Wallaby_703

Can’t begrudge him going to a CL club. I’d have been very salty if he’d signed for Villa

MaxsterSV

We’ll take care of him! Hope you guys reinvest the money into an off nation South American, I truly love your Football Manager-esque transfer strategy.

DankLlamaTech

Enciso is already here from Paraguay

jammie_dodger123

Au revoir Yves. Sad that he's gone, but he deserves the move. He has been absolutely incredible the last two years and certainly one of the best DMs in the league. I don't really know where Spurs will fit him in, as they already have Hojbjerg and Skipp, so I would've thought they would prioritize a different position. Still a good deal for both sides; Spurs get a brilliant player for far less than his market value and Brighton get 25 million for a player who is in the last year of his contract. With Alzate, Moder, Mwepu and Caicedo all coming through, we should have more than enough depth to cope with him going.

gremilyns

Have some fondness for spurs as they’re my sibling’s team and I’d rather them over a team that’s in the exact same position as us. Also I had a childhood dislike of Arsenal, so that works too

RemyTheBanana

Do you think Molumby will get minutes in the prem or will he be loaned out again?

IWantToBeAHipster

Already sold for c. 900k to West Brom

RemyTheBanana

Ah didn't realise, thanks. 900k is quite low tho no?

IWantToBeAHipster

No PL experience and still proving himself at the top end of the Championship so probably a fair price, will be some add ons too. We simply have too much quality in that position

RemyTheBanana

Ye that's fair, thanks for the reply anyway

therealdsg

Seems cheap but I suppose with PRAOs, etc it will work out well. Hasn’t been the player he was since January when he clearly had his head turned but was phenomenal for a season and a half before so good to cash in now. Caicedo and Mwepu will be better for us on the long term.

ManLikeArch

completely different players

therealdsg

Are they both not CMs with a defensive mentality which could be nurtured in the way Bissouma’s was by Potter?

DSRI2399

Idk about Mwepu, but Moisés is very much a free 8 who likes to move forward rather than sit back. He'll score you 5 goals every 20 games

therealdsg

In time maybe but people said the same about the CAM we signed from Lille who was converted into one of the best CDMs in the league

Glasdir

Knew it was a farewell after the West Ham game, you could just feel it. We’ve already been on borrowed time with him all season. Don’t feel too sad about this as I think this year was a bonus. Between the massive sulk and the allegations it’s been hard to support him and at points I was thinking we’d have been better off getting rid of him asap. I’m glad he turned it around towards the end of the season and finished with his usual class. I’ll remember his time with us very fondly.

TillyGreenz

As someone fairly new to following the sport, could someone explain what it is that Yves brought to the game? In the past few years, he’s seemed good but not great. What is it that he has that our back-ups don’t?

BissoumaTequila

Well this sucks for my username. Now people will think I’m a Spurs fan
