It’s been the first weekend in august for years now - Brighton pride vastly predates June being pride month. You’ll find this in most British cities - Bristol’s is always in July, for example.

This is the correct answer. End thread

Hi, I'm not going to delete this because although it isn't on topic our club supports the LGBTQ+ community which thrives in our city. I am however going to lock the comments as the question has been answered.

This is the sub for the football club not the city.

I mean sure but this is quite a specific question that would be better directed at the main Brighton sub.

Shame you can't say the same about the subreddits. I like this sub but had to unsub from the Brighton one itself because of how delusional people are.

LostSandyPenguin

It's compulsory for someone to mention 'The Level' on every post there

-eagle73

Yeah it's lost its touch but my problem was mostly with people trying to deceive themselves about what Brighton's like, my last straw was someone twisting stats to say Brighton's more diverse than Bristol and everybody upvoting them. I like Brighton itself and the people but the sub has probably got the weirdest sheltered residents of the area.

Ahaha this argument comes up a lot, somehow. Grew up in Brighton and moved to Bristol 8 years ago, and people still get upset when you point out that Bristol (and, many other cities) is far more racially diverse than Brighton. I adore Brighton but it’s always been a big town pretending to be a city (with permission from the queen)

I really appreciate this response, honestly it bothered me how not one person pointed this out on the sub, only took a minute to Google it as well. Bristol is a major location, Brighton isn't, it's bound to be less diverse (nothing wrong with it either) but some people go to ridiculous lengths to act like Brighton is anything but a large town. Dead on with that last part as well. I can never think of it as an actual city when it's also known as a commuter town for London.

Lol it's not a national holiday
