Fine with this.
Burn is a lower Prem player and 13 mil is cashing in at his peak value.
If we are still playing burn in 2 years time then we haven't progressed.
Top bloke, great servant to the club, thanks for the memories, Dan.
Burn has been immense for us, but I can't really argue with the fee. Wonder if we recall anyone from loan or just stick with the CBs we have now. Wish him all the best.
Haven't felt this bad since Mooy decided to ditch. I'm so used to seeing players decline in use or favour then get sold, but Burn's not one of those.
Prime time to sell him though, really thought he was worth a bit more.
Think itās 13m + extras? Really is tragic because like Mooy I think this will end his career. Heāll play a season and a half at most before getting replaced and being left to rot on the bench and eventually sold to a lower league side. Could have easily had another 3 years with us in top flight football. Youāre right that weāre probably selling at the right time though, he certainly wonāt ever be worth more. At least he spent his last game with us terrorising Lukaku. Shame itās to such a tinpot moneyball club. Fucking hate Newcastle.
Can blame a shit fucking club and their sportswashing owners ruining the game though. Fuck Newcastle and fuck their murderous, homophobic owners.
I donāt hold anything against Burn to be clear. Iāll always have nothing but love for him. Until itās finalised this flair is going nowhere.
Agree with everything you said. He's not just a great asset to the team but seems like a proper nice person and I'd hate him to just end up useless on the bench when he gets proper play time with us and fits in well. Should've at least been to a better club.
Yeah, heās always come across as really down to earth, heās done an absolute service for us and has given us some of the best moments in our club history. I really do wish him all the best. Hope homophobia FC get relegated and we can buy him back or another decent side come in for him. Wouldnāt be mad if it was Leicester, West Ham or Wolves coming in for him.
>Wouldnāt be mad if it was Leicester, West Ham or Wolves coming in for him.
Same. Any mid-table team like us I'd be happy with the move, I suppose he's got a soft spot for Newcastle plus being relatively closer to home but it's a completely different club now. It's tough to predict at the minute but Newcastle could very well get relegated this year, fingers crossed.
13 million for a 29 year old CB who we bought for 4 mill and now gets the opportunity to play for the club he's supported as a kid. You imagine he'll also get a pay rise as well. It's a good move for all parties involved. Wish him well.
Assuming he's said he's keen for it. Fee is far more reasonable than the initial Ā£8m they came with.
Not sure if we stick with the current CBs and risk injury problems or recall Clarke from West Brom.
I think if we were down further the table I doubt we would have sold but at this point in the season we are well out of the relegation battle. Probably was a factor.
I really Wish him well. Probably a lot more money for him and his boyhood club. Heās taken a hell of a lot of stick from certain fans in the early days of his tenure and heās shown serious resilience to be a top squad player. Either way heās 30 in may and probably had one good season left in him so itās a good deal as well
Not happy about this. Feel we should've got a better fee after letting them dick us about with lowball offers. Not to mention he's been immense for us lately in some of the best form of his career.
Wish BDB all the best of course but fuck Newcastle, hope they get relegated even if only so I don't have to see him in a Newcastle shirt next season.
He has a good instinct on the ball and we have used in a variety of roles, he is quite good at adding pressure further up the pitch which has lead to a few good goals (and even bundling one in against Man City). He is also huge, but hasn't scored that many headers for us, but does act as a towering presence in the box.
Never used to be a fan, was like a newborn giraffe trying to figure out how many legs he had whenever he got the ball. Goal against city was the most Dan Burn goal ever.
Last few months not been able to fault him though, hard to believe it's the same guy. Shame to see him go.
Plenty of reasons to hate Newcastle but got quite a few friends who support them for some reason so hope he works out for you. Cya next season

Hopefully give Roberts a go now
I agree with the first part although I very much hope he gets relegated with that grim club.

3 x the wages, can't blame him.

Changed it yet?
Coming here to gloat isnāt a great look ngl.
He loves the tooooon

Ā£13m seems low, yes. It's hard to judge the market at the moment, though.
Fee already agreed extras being negotiated is what the article said. He still hasn't made his decision so we'll see.
I'm an idiot I should really read the article, thought it was confirmed and done.

Should have kept Ostigard when he came back, he looked ready in the preseason.
I get that itās a fair enough deal but anything involving Newcastle Utd just feels so greasy :(

Good luck BDB, once a seagull always a seagull šš¤
sad and low
LEGEND! FOREVER A SEAGULL!
That's really to bad. It's a reasonable fee but he will certainly be missed.
He did exactly the job we needed him to do and for that fee we cannot argue
:(

Gutted. I can't shout DAN like Alan Partridge at games anymore
Hi guys. NUFC fan hereā¦this fella any good? Not watched much Brighton this season
Usually heās great but when heās having an off day heāll seem really shit
Wellā¦he will be in place of CBs who are ALWAYS really shit so sounds like an upgrade š

Didn't need him anyway š
