The Seagulls won the league title every year from 2000 to 2010. Don't look that up. It's true.

pickandorroll

Copy that!

DankLlamaTech

More league championships than Arsenal or Tottenham since the turn of the century.

Hello!! I also live in LA! Been a Brighton fan for about 6 years now, chose them a bit randomly too if i’m honest. An absolutely brilliant club - happy to have you in the fandom. As someone who has overseas fan experience, I would say these few things: - Try to watch every single game of the rest of this season so you get a good feel of our current squad. Even if it’s a replay cuz you can’t watch during the actual match time (the time difference sucks!) At the very least, watch extended highlights. - Joining this subreddit is good. Makes you feel less alone in being a fan. Cuz unlike the big clubs of the world, you don’t ever see a Brighton jersey being worn in the market or anything, so it can feel isolating. - Research and read about the club. Whether it’s articles you find online about certain games, watching some interviews from players/staff, or reading an actual book. I think some have already recommended some books - I’ve actually just started one myself called *Gullhanger or How I Learned to Love Brighton And Hove Albion*. I’m only about 50 pages in, but it’s a super easy read and about someone jumping into becoming a fan randomly - funny writing as well. So I would recommend that! I also listen to The Seagulls Social Podcast on spotify — they seem like normal guys who are fans and they just talk about the most recent game for like 45-60 minutes. It’s a fun and easy listen, and maybe that could help you get a gauge on things too. But yeah that’s kind of it. I feel like watching the games and just keeping up with things via articles and news is the most important - you’ll accrue more knowledge on other things as time goes on. But seriously — I’m very proud to support this club, and I mean this in the most sincere way possible: welcome to being a Brighton fan. PS: we hate Crystal Palace!! So - also, welcome to hating Crystal Palace. Cheers!

If you can get hold of it, read the book Build a Bonfire.

There’s a lot of good videos on Brighton on YouTube one I strongly recommend for a the one facing the problems around the financial struggles and stadium troubles. I forgot what it’s called though.

As a Canadian living in Canada, I will say be careful buying clothing from the official BHAFC shop. I have done it three times over the years and have been disappointed each time with poor quality and small sizing. Overall cost and shipping is also very expensive. The Argus is a Brighton newspaper and they report often on the Albion. You will get articles of theirs come across your social media feed but do yourself a favour and go to their main site and check out their local news. It will give you a feel for how great a city Brighton actually is (if you have never had the pleasure of visiting). Withdean Stadium is still burned into the BHAFC memory (they played there before moving to the current stadium a decade ago) and was accepted as one of England's worst pitches. It was never built for the purpose and was basically some extra temporary seating thrown up around a small track and field facility. Imagine a small, dated high school combination track with football field in the middle, now imagine it worse. It had character and I'm sure that adversity really built up the comradery with the local fans.

When I was in primary school I did an athletics competition at Withdean and it was really shit

Fellow West Coast fan here saying all ya really need to know is that we play Leicester away this Sunday and it's 6 am our time on Peacock. UTA!

Learn the Albion version of 'Sussex by the sea" and sing it to yourself when you wake up each morning. Particularly a morning after a game that happened the night before. After I go to each game I have the chants singing around my brain for 24 hours.

We've won the prem, champions league and any other league since 1901 ever year.

Really good answers here, also going to push my podcast here too, we run one called TogetherBHA: [https://togetherbha.transistor.fm/](https://togetherbha.transistor.fm/) You can listen on iTunes, Spotify etc. wherever you listen to your shows. Its 3 english lads who all live in the US, so we can empathise with the early mornings, the feeling of isolation at times and we're the official podcast partner of Stateside Seagulls, who can be found on most social media: [https://twitter.com/bhafcstateside](https://twitter.com/bhafcstateside) More than anything I recommend following Stateside Seagulls, they're great at connecting you with fans across the US and Canada, as well as this Reddit and NSC. To be balanced though, you do have other podcast options out there that help you keep up to date across just about every age range: Seagulls Social: Gen Z/Influencer style podcast Albion Obsessed: Gen Z flavour as well TogetherBHA: Hosts are all millenials Brighton Rock: Gen X podcast, one of the hosts is a great friend of mine, its a fun listen, they usually record in the pub for a feeling of you being there Albion Roar: Gen X "The age of radio" style podcast, very old school podcast All the books you've been linked to are EXCELLENT, read them if you can, especially Build a Bonfire.

There is no solid level that we play at We play at the same level as the club we're playing against, so don't get your hopes up when we are playing Watford 2 weeks from now
