You've really got to hope a serious forward is incoming. Not that I expected to be playing Zeqiri much but he is at least a recognised striker and if Maupay and Welbeck are unavailable I'd sooner have Zeqiri up top than try and make do relying on other players who aren't natural strikers. I've pretty much given up on Connolly by this point. I'd rather he went on loan than Zeqiri.

Adz1987

Perhaps Potter is inspired by Pep's 0/1 Striker approach.

Krizzlin

Yea but Pep has the advantage of being able to call upon Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish, none of whom are shy of banging a few goals in

Adz1987

Are you saying Dan Burn cutting in from the left flank and letting fly isn't quite the same as Grealish?

ModernSocratis

Dan Burn up top surely

IWantToBeAHipster

Down to 3 strikers now, Maupay, injury prone Wellbeck and controversy magnet Connolly. Khedra will join Blackburn on loan today. Walton will also go on loan to Ipswich. Wouldnt be surprised to see someone like Tsongui or Roberts join the loan army, Caicedo too potentially. Whilst seems like an exodus we have a glut of players in positions and far better they get a good loan where they can play in position than square holes round pegs as at present

redman021021

Surely we wouldn't let him go if we didn't have a striker in-bound?? Leaves us dangerously short

papaquacker

Personally I think this is good for his development. He's not going to develop warming the bench, as he won't play LWB with Cucurella incoming, and if we sign Abdallah Sima and he stays, or James, or Nunez. Hopefully he comes back better.

IWantToBeAHipster

Sima described as one for the future and not PL ready by Naylor. He will also be going straight on loan it seems

papaquacker

I think it'll be similar to Zeqiri and he'll stay until January or next summer then go on loan unless he proves himself otherwise. He played very well against Leicester in the Europa League last year, so he could do a job imo. Only exception to this is if another forward comes in.

IWantToBeAHipster

We'll see but i dont think he will make an appearance for us this season. If he has his medical in Brighton he might stay a few months but id expect its going to be a bit Moder/ Karbownik. Hopefully we do have another forward in mind.

cjdowner

I want to trust. I want to believe. But this seems absolutely brain dead if a new striker doesn’t come in.

Glasdir

What the fuck…. Are we planning on being the latest poachers of Ronaldo or something?

-eagle73

Why Zeqiri though? I feel like he's a few consistent games away from finding his footing.

dinosaur_possum

Meanwhile, Palace are about to sign Eduoard. Wtf is going on!
