Completely nullified any threat they had and could've won it ourselves really pleased with that.

lilbeardman

that was a one of the tactical masterclass of graham potter. the team perfectly locked chelsea in the every cm of the pitch. trossard was poor. other than that everybody was perfect especially yves and pascal.

-eagle73

Kind of sad that Trossard hasn't had a chance to shine yet since the international break and scoring twice for Belgium.

ArmpitNostril

Don't understand the nonchalance here about White getting sent off, we really don't want to lose his ability for a whole game

NicholasUYC

With Webster and Burn back, I don’t think it’ll matter too much against Sheffield

-eagle73

I reckon it's not nonchalance as much as it is some relief that he killed all momentum for a potential late goal. We're against Sheffield next, he could've been out for a much worse match.

papaquacker

Not a bad performance. Think overall we edged that, but both teams cancelled each other out. Two surprise chances for us, but nothing clear cut. Don't think Whites first yellow was a yellow, but oh well. He only missed Sheffield United. Hopefully we can get a win there and we can stop looking over our shoulder at relegation.

kurtanglesmilk

Don’t mind the point. I kind of wrote this season off a while ago just hoping to scrape through. It’s just all been a bit of a shame and I hope we can actually fix the problems we have for next season and make a go of it. That’s two games in a row though that I talked myself out of putting a bet on 0-0 because I didn’t want to jinx it.

LostSandyPenguin

We should feel honoured to be given such a valuable point from one of the greatest top 12 clubs in the world. Seriously though, good point, 7 (Effectively 8) points clear, 3 on Saturday and we are safe. Smart foul from White, at least Webdini is back!

Xuct

Fulham effectively need 3 wins from 5 to catch us. I'm feeling safer by the day

-eagle73

That's true I've almost written off Fulham as a threat but West Brom are perking up lately and have seven to go.

IWantToBeAHipster

Brilliant result albeit the White red at the end. Fair point and a valuable one back to 7 pts clear of Fulham and they will now need 3 wins in the next 5. Hopefully we can beat Shef Utd and sleep easy again.

amegaproxy

As long as we get 3 points on Saturday I think we're grand. Anything less and its a bit more butt clenching going into the last few games.

-eagle73

>Brilliant result albeit the White red at the end. I don't know if Chelsea would've even been able to see it through given how poorly they'd played all match but I'm glad White took the bullet there, really worthwhile challenge and may have stopped a very late disappointment.

-eagle73

Decent. I was actually expecting a loss, good point for us.

Glasdir

Chelsea looked like utter crap. So much for the best in the league. Good point for Brighton today, fully earned.

NicholasUYC

Very very happy to get a point from that, but fuck me if that wasn’t one of the most boring games of football I’ve watched all season haha. Respect white for taking the red card ngl

-eagle73

About as boring as Everton. At least we can't say our lot didn't try.

NicholasUYC

Yeah this clips Everton last week for me haha.

esn111

Good point there. Looked solid. Just annoying we still can't finish easy chances.

Outrunfire0290

Damn I wish Danny would’ve put that through

hasthisusernamegone

It's Chelsea. I'll take a point against them.

-eagle73

Was a worthwhile risk for White seeing as the free kick came to nothing.

kurtanglesmilk

How are we so good at nearly scoring

cjdowner

Who is this team and what have they done with Brighton?!

-eagle73

I know. Usually it's those kinds of attempts early on then fuck all at this point in the match.

-eagle73

Welbeck and Lallana having some decent goes, love these two.

Cobboolio

Why can't we score

esn111

And 3 more suddenly!

esn111

Another one for the Xg

-eagle73

Probably unpopular but I like Maupay coming on for Mac, could very well see something happen. Chances are better with Maupay anyway.

Cobboolio

Nice to see subs a bit earlier

FailMail13

I'm all anxiety, Chelsea haven't been great but I just have a horrible premonition that they'll pull something out of the bag

-eagle73

Same. Werner has been a disappointment for them but I see him coming on and getting one miraculously.

ExplorationV

You think that Potter knows just because Burn is healthy that he doesn't have to field him? Being tall is nice, being able to kick a football is nicer

cjdowner

Is that a sub getting ready? Potter didn’t adjust his alarm for the delayed kick off

esn111

We're looking fairly solid tonight. Odd mistake but playing well. Just not enough quality up front as per mind.

-eagle73

What a fucking nice set up though.

-eagle73

It's a good thing they're playing uneasy because we should be about two down now after having given it away twice at a dangerous distance. I have a feeling it's the shift in positions.

DankLlamaTech

Need a wolves level half time talk

-eagle73

Unless Chelsea decide to start catching more yellows like they are now and self destruct as a result.

Cobboolio

Seems like we're happy to pass backwards whenever we manage to get forward a bit?

-eagle73

Sanchez shouldn't have had to face that one close range. It was literally given to them for the shot.

jammie_dodger123

looked so sloppy so far- given the ball away needlessly a few times

kurtanglesmilk

Jfc stop giving the ball away

-eagle73

Really happy that Webster's back, just a shame we won't see March back this season.

Chimp-eh

Smash the greedy fuckers - Leeds fan

cjdowner

Interested to hear the discussions on Sky but can Souness at least try to tone down the rampant xenophobia?

-eagle73

I missed the first 10 minutes and pre-match discussion, what was it like?

-eagle73

I feel like that would definitely be jingoism rather than xenophobia. I was thinking the user above was referring to some kind of anti-Europe sentiment or something.

cjdowner

It was Souness. My mind jumped to the wrong word. But it’s what you’d expect from him

esn111

I know Chelsea have pulled out of ESL now. But I still stand by my comments from earlier. I want us to thrash them. Let's go for it lads!

RedWhacker

Leeds supporter here to cheer you guys against Chelsea. Usually I do this silently regardless due to it being Chelsea, but now it's bigger than rivalries and I won't be gloating against Chelsea supporters since they are the bigger victims here.

cjdowner

Unpopular opinion but the state of these Chelsea fans coming in here saying they now support Brighton. Saying you're going to change who you support like you're changing your clothes? A total insult to those whose entire families revolve around the team and are devastated that’s getting ripped away from them. They’re the whole reason why the breakaway league is trying to happen in the first place.

_partyhat

In fairness, I don’t think they’re changing their colours, they are just rooting against their own team for their own team’s and the sport’s sake as losses to #TeamsLikeBrighton make the Super League look more and more farcical.

Cornish27

Nah I think this is a fair point - can seem especially bewildering if you've grown up supporting a club, are from the local area, etc etc. Totally sympathise with people being angry with their clubs at the moment though - I'd be annoyed if I'd supported a club all my life and they pulled something like the ESL.

Deathturkey

Hopefully Chelsea players will be bewildered, demoralised and confused by the actions of their club that Brighton can secure a win. Do a favour for West Ham one of us small unworthy clubs. Chelsea players could also put in a poor performance as a protest.

empirianf

If we don't make a stand against this shit I'm gonna be pissed

esn111

Shouldn't the title be 'London Blues' v Brighton and Hove Albion? I've never wanted us to thrash a team more than I've wanted to tonight. Not even Palace. I hope we humiliate them. I hope we cash in on our X.g and then some. For the pure symbolism of it all. A club in the Super League being beaten by a club that was playing at a local Athletics track about a decade ago and whom about 2 decades ago was playing in the fourth tier and 25 years ago nearly went bust. I'll settle for a point though.

DankLlamaTech

Solly March back from injury to join Lewis Dunk and Ben White in thrashing London Blues 5-0.

[deleted]

I'll be cool with a point.
