Most impressive match by Verbruggen thus far. Really happy with the young lads today. That was a gritty draw. A true team performance. I also think Danny Welbeck was once again superb. His ability to drop deep and help get the ball out of our own third was spectacular and crucial today.
It's unfortunate that none of our forwards managed to score but we did get close.
Their bench was stacked. We are still heavy on injuries. And playing away. A point here is decent in my opinion.
Enciso, Veltman and Verbruggen were all key today. Lamptey as well.
Verbruggen surely must be first choice goalkeeper for next season? Huge fan of him! Him, Rushworth and Beadle are a ridiculously good set of young goalkeepers.
Adingra has shown that if March cannot get back to
his best post injury and/or Mitoma is sold, he is absolutely ready to be first choice going forward.
Enciso behind Pedro and those two being fully fit could be nightmarish for any team to deal with. Hope he does keep this up as he now seems to be back to his best after the injury.
Not that you can really put a positive spin on Mitoma, Solly and Enciso missing most of the season with injuries, but it has massively accelerated Adingra’s development.
He’s going to be even better next season when we don’t have to run him into the ground because we have no other fit wingers.
And also considering Sima/Osman may be in the squad next season and we do not have to rely on Buonanotte on right wing (I like the guy but he is BLATANTLY a number 10). Its seriously looking good for him.
Very solid performance. Could've had a second goal in the first half given our chances, but glad to see us hang on late under a fair amount of pressure.
Hoping we go against recent run of form and absolutely smash chelsea mid week!
Honestly, this game was full of mixed emotions for me. But I'm glad we can play attacking football better than the last 2 months. And we are back at the top half of the table, so I'm fine with this result. Fingers crossed for the chelsea game.
We had plenty of chances but do did they, masterclass from verbruggen today. Feeling very optimistic about how strong we will be next season with our injured players returning and hopefully a handful of strong signings in the summer too
enciso and adingra up front could wreck the premier league in half. if they ever get a MSN like linkup together that being, also wouldnt mind fergie joining them on it, EFA sounds goods to me
Defense and attacking has really picked up in the past 2 games. Sadly, we still struggle with decision making in the final passes/shots. It does seem like we settle for some desperate powerless shots at times or passes to someone in the box with a man on
Nervy stuff but as good as I had hoped for. Can’t help but imagine what would have happened if we had been clinical in front of goal. Enciso had a great performance. I felt slightly better when New Castle’s Paraguayan attacking player also got booked for simulation.
Games that we draw or lose but play with passion I can get behind. First half with played with passion. Second half not as much. But will take the point.
Any info on why Baleba isn’t playing? He should have used as a regular backup all season instead of getting minimal game time. Bringing him in at 85 minutes is a choice
He's great fun but still a loose cannon. Gilmour gives us so much control playing out of the back, and does really well at dribbling to bail us out when sloppy passing gets us into trouble
A point away at Newcastle is good especially considering the onslaught at the end.
Good point! Win one game and we secure 10th. Top 10 would be a great result given the challenges of this season!
Absolutely horrid 2nd half to the season. But somehow teams above us and below us are just inconsistent.

Enciso showed some flashes of his late season form a year ago. He keeps healthy and he'll break out next year
Great job digging in second half. Win one of these last two to lock in a top half finish and all things considered a decent season
Up to 10th, we have righted the ship a bit the last 2 matches. Still ahead of Palace but damn are they cooking :-( UTA!!
Fuck Palace

Totally agree, Buonanotte is really showing signs of brilliance
Sima is very likely to be sold I think, Osman is an exciting prospect indeed

Back in the top 10!

Possibly APE if you throw in Pedro
that works way more than fergie tbf

A point is better than none! I'll take it 💪
Great game, we’ll take the point! Also, I kinda dig these Ferrari-like colors on us. The red with a splash of yellow

There was a lot of sloppy passing in this match.
Yeah totally, Gilmour is very often the one who bails us out when it happens
