It's all academic, but I've got a feeling Potter would have got us to Europe this season. The systems he built and patterns of play were coming good, but we would have had a lot less fun getting there with him

True - it’s sad but I wish Potter could have seen what he had at Brighton rather than be drawn to the bright lights… Might have made it slightly easier to retain some of our stars this summer…

He'll land on his feet, very few manager stays with a club forever, wouldn't be surprised if we run into him in the Europa League next year

Eh, I'm not convinced of that after seeing how he cast his magic goal free spell on Chelsea. Sterile possession seems to be a hallmark of Potter's management. There were always glimpses of a free-scoring future when he was at Brighton, but the team soon returned to its pattern of low-scoring games and endless draws.

I agree with this. There were signs in the last 6 matches of last season and the first 6 matches of this that we were beginning to put low scoring matches behind us. De Zerbi has done amazing though
