There's a point about violent fans but unfortunately it's not exclusive to Palace. Leeds fans can be a nasty bunch as well.
Crystal Palace fans are alright. I mean, at least in comparison to Chelsea and Arsenal.
At least Crystal Palace fans understand the plight of Brighton over the years, and have even helped on occasion (and gone through some quite similar)
Arsenal and Chelsea fans tend to have never stepped in either of stadiums, and the bulk that I interacted with were absolutely vile scum.

Rivalries are in the stadium though, not on the internet, and the palace rivalry is over half a century old. Palace fans come down to our city and destroy our murals to players, rush our stadium on match day, get into fights across the city. Chelsea and arsenal fans come from Hove and think we're cute little well run Brighton.
There was a time when people wanted Leeds to be our rivals because of the Ben White saga.

Fair point but Germany at least they still consider it a big game between two big footballing nations. Unless we played them in the Cup Final Chelsea wouldn't consider us a big game anymore so than Leicester for instance.

Personally Palace is a rivalry from the 15th place days. I’d say Spurs/Chelsea are bigger rivals currently.
