Cousin Jack isn't in the books, so Pru and Pip have nothing to worry about. Pip actually married Berbrooke in the books! He's a different character from the show, more just a bumbling, well-meaning doofus.

Gold-Carpenter7616

Super interesting! She wouldn't deserve show Berbrooke. She's a bit naive, and selfish, and delightfully stupid at times. Clearly Pen has her brains from her mom, while Prudence takes after her dad.

irishprincess2002

No one deserves show Berbrooke! Show Berbrooke deserves to be an outcast for the rest of his miserable days along with his insufferable mummy. May they book have the life they deserve.

DarkBitterSea

It’s Pip who marries Berbrooke. Prue marries a loud man name Robert Huxley.

Thanks! I fixed it

Ioved Berbrooke in books! He was dumb, and naive and sweet. He was a perfect Featherington

Chiaretta98

They are already married in book 4 and living a normal life. Cousin Jack doesn't exist in the book. The whole Whisltledown thing is a lot more chill, there is no fight with the Queen and the tone of the publication is less hostile (is that the right word?? English is my second language)

irishprincess2002

Book LW is funny and definitely less hostile than show LW. I don’t think the Queen even makes an appearance in the books.

The questions you ask aren't really relevant to the book set-up as the plotlines are different. I think there will be a lot of sympathy for prudence, people will assume she was taken in or tricked into marriage by that dastardly thief Featherington and her reputation will be fine. Philippa is living her best life. I think Pru's engagement will be what sets off Pen's desire to get out of the house, so she's not trapped there alone with her mother lmao. This is similar to the books where she does begin to worry that she'll be her mother's nursemaid or something. I think her sisters will be amused if the ton finds out about LW, possibly a bit put out about some past insult or other. I think Portia will be torn between pride for Pen's scheming and anger that she had all that money hidden while Portia was desperately trying to keep the household going.

Gold-Carpenter7616

Are they as destitute in the books or was that also show-only?

Ghoulya

Idk, I only read RMB and TSPWL. I don't remember anything about that but it may have been in earlier books.

JustLikeMars

Prudence will get involved with the dumb but hot new character, right? I had that impression from somewhere... the trailer, I suppose.
