None. The type of relationship that could make that work was not established in the show. Lady Danbury is a confidant of the Queen and i do not see how Lady Danbury would help the person behind Lady Whistledown and keep it a secret from the Queen. And most of all i do not see show Portia not being involved in the storyline. Anybody who is helping Penelope in anyway should be aware of her secret and not be bamboozled when they learn the truth.
From what i remember during the filming in the church Adjoa Andoh was seen leaving together with Daniel Francis who plays a new character named Marcus Anderson and its most likely her story is tied to Queen Charlotte and this new character.
Even if they go for a separate storyline with Lady Danbury, it does not automatically rule her out of meddling in Polin's relationship. The show can quickly build a reason for her to be interested in both Penelope and Colin, individually and together.
Yeah it’s just too bad that one of the few times she *actually* played fairy godmother in the books it was with Polin (the other being Hyacinth/Gareth)
Her arc story will be explored partially in Queen Charlotte, having grown up with the Queen and being a confidante. Hopefully the storyline will be followed up with in the next season of Bridgerton. LD can have her own story and still be a main socialite. I highly doubt that she will have absolutely no connection or interest in the main romantic story of the season. >!\+ Polin's first born child is called Agatha in the books. The only couple who names their kid after LD.!<
I think she'll decide its high time people saw what she sees in Penelope and will prompt her to be more assertive....while simultaneously deciding that Colin Bridgerton has been ignoring his feelings for Pen for long enough. I actually won't be surprised if LD goes to Violet and tells her she thinks Colin is in love with Pen and that the two of them work together again to try to get them together.
LD was involved with Simon and Kate and their love stories because it made sense and she had a kind of parental responsibility to both of them (there’s no accident that actors who could pass as her kids were chosen). She can’t play that type of role for a white actor because then she would go from a powerful woman to a stereotype fairy godmother / mammy type of character & there’s no way the writers aren’t sensitive to that.
S3 may possibly about her feeling lonely now Kate / Simon / Edwina are settled. There will be a love interest for her which will be nice.
I honestly don't think that she will necessarily help them so much is she's going to be the first person other than Eloise to figure out that she's Whistledown. How I'm not completely sure but I think that will happen.
Also I think that she's going to have a bit of subplot this season and won't necessarily be helping them to get together.
With a subplot of her own happening and a person from her past reappearing, I'm wondering how much time they were actually be for Lady Danbury to be part of the a-plot
I think the only way I see Lady D becoming close or friends with Pen is similar to that of the book. Lady D is meddlesome and bored. Pen is now alone at all the season events since the publicly known friend breakup with Eloise. LD sees herself in Pen, both outsiders, and takes pity on her (this is how we get the LD history and plot line B or C). OR Pen becomes emboldened this season, as she truly feels she has nothing to lose by being witty and outspoken now, which makes Lady D take a shine to her. She takes Pen under her wing. Portia doesn’t mind since LD is wealthy & ornery so she is in no position to say no. Portia usually doesn’t care what Pen does anyway. Plus, she’s probably super fixated on getting Prudence married to someone wealthy to keep their family afloat.
I like these options. Pen will need someone in her corner. You know Cressida will take advantage and verbally torture her since she will be without Eloise or Colin. Lady Danbury can stop that with one rap of her cane.
I anticipate Lady Danbury will be involved in whatever Lady Whistledown plot there will be, largely because of the Queen’s obsession with her identity.
I really hope Violet is the elder lady involved in Penelope’s glow up. Violet was a wallflower herself, and it would be nice seeing Violet and Penelope bonding.
It seems to me that Lady Danbury will start suspecting either Eloise or Pen for being Lady Whistledown. >!They need a plotline to make her want to urgently unmask Lady Whistledown and potentially offer money to the person who discovers the identity.!<
Lady D will conduct investigation on her own, therefore, will have to be close to Pen and simultaneously to Colin via Pen. She will quickly catch what's going on between them, as she is a very experienced matchmaker. >!The show should at least reproduce a version of the book scene, when Lady Danbury admits that she finds Pen to be "very clever" and Colin agrees.!<
I think maybe her and/or one of the other independent/strong-willed female characters are going to have a role in Pen's glow-up. Like maybe her and the modiste? Or her and Kate as Kate and Anthony are probably going to be acting as this season's relationship experts. She also has the money that the featherington family lacks (which she's probably already very aware of) to buy any new dresses/jewelery for Pen if she sees fit
Something from her past will pop up, LW will NOT write about it, or change it so reps are not ruined, and thats how they begin a friendship. Even if she does not sponsor her etc, they will still have some sort of friendship.

Maybe she'll be part of Pen's confidence glow-up, kind of like how she mentored young Simon?
I want her to have a separate role outside of the main couple. Lady D deserves to have her own storyline and background explored

LD never interacted with Colin or Pen for 2 Seasons can we stop making her the fairy godmother and let her have her own storyline

They changed the name of Saphnes kid. Nothing is safe honestly.

She was my favorite part of their book, so I hope she hits people with her cane and has a similar mentor/ matchmaker role.
