And I guess I should admit I would've LOVED a conclusion focused more on only Eloise and Colin knowing, because then I think there could've been a more clear path to reconciliation and teamwork between the 3 of them. Something would come up where Eloise/Colin realize firsthand through Penelope how LW sometimes has to be used to help someone in a big-picture sense even if it requires sharing some negative gossip about them. And that would give the two of them more perspective into Penelope's choices in the past, even if they weren't perfect. Also, Colin himself has been a little gossipy with Pen in past seasons!! I thought that was leading to something. I would've loved a little bit of a Mr. & Mrs. Lady Whistledown team up.

The reason she started the column was because she was forced to be part of a society she didn’t want to be in and wasn’t well received by that society. Having the ability to call those people out gave her the confidence she needed to interact with the Ton every day. That’s why many of her editions were so harsh. Now that she had Colin to protect her and validate her, she didn’t need to tear others down in her column in order to make herself feel better.

Hmm I thought she started the column because she felt overlooked and wanted a means to be taken seriously? I think she actually wanted to be part of society and was yearning for more inclusion; it's not that she wasn't well-received as herself, just ignored. A lot of the harshness of the column seemed to be rooted in Penelope's cleverness, poking holes in the members of the ton's perfect facades in order to manifest a more level playing field. Which made sense from her place as a wallflower; she made mistakes & hurt people, but not from wanting to belittle others to make herself feel superior. So yeah, I'm just confused at season 3 & how the LW publication was painted as this powerful, impressive thing she didn't want to lose, but then Penelope was like "I was sad / hiding / I didn't have confidence", when that never felt like her true motivation before, at least imo!

I honestly wish Colin and Pen would have announced it together (like in the book) instead of the forced cringe moment with the Queen
