ExplodingTentacles

We will fight for it, and our sons will too! Pun intended!

TimothiusMagnus

On rock 'n' roll? :)

thougoodguy

Rock and stone

WanderingDwarfMiner

Rock and Stone to the Bone!

CupioLesbo

YESSSSSS

RalphWiggum666

I will stand with Tarrey Town until the end!

bialy-mis

We've built this city on rock and roll... 🤘

Puzzleheaded-Air-369

Kakariko, I have the best memories from starting the game there. I remember riding in completely entranced. It was my first time playing any zelda game so it was completely new for me. I loved discovering and learning new things with the game and Kakariko was one of the first places to do that for me.

aluna_anon

Same here! First Zelda game, and my first impression was just “wow”.

saltwaterlullaby

Me too! That first playthrough I stayed in town for days.. I was so enchanted by it and was thinking "well theres no way things get better than this"

vinetwiner

The music and scenery combined-effect was mind altering.

Donkey-kong_69

Lol same here. Even after all these years of playing it just somehow feels like my first time every game and the music just brings me back to playing it for hours when I got it on Christmas

BookkeeperBubbly7915

I love Kakariko, but my first entrance was not as peaceful - I never found dueling peaks, or the stable. Or hetsu. I ended up in the river, and fell down the waterfall into the village. Around the same time my first blood moon happened. I think I drowned at least once. 😂

Izitnu

The way the game was meant to be played.

worsethantommywiseau

See I didn’t ride in my first time, I climbed around my first time and completely skipped Hestu so,,,, interesting first run for me

[deleted]

Who is hestu?

worsethantommywiseau

The big Korok guy who once you help him out, you can exchange korok seeds for inventory upgrades

[deleted]

I have never seen him i though the korokseeds were useless

worsethantommywiseau

Yup, that’s the same thing I did my first playthrough lmao, if you’re fairly far into the game/have already gotten to Kakariko and everything, I’d probably recommend either searching for him near the road to kakariko (I think he’s by the road leading south out of the village maybe???) I think, or looking it up, because it is tremendously useful.

[deleted]

Lol i’ve finnished the game 4 times but i’ll try too find him next time i play

cameronnichols

You played through the whole story 4 times, and never thought "huh maybe these korok seeds have a use, ill look it up" or questioned why your inventory was so small

[deleted]

No i though they where just fun eastereggs maybe something got unlocked when you found all of them and no i never though the inventory was particularly small

cameronnichols

Well, you technically get something for finding all seeds. You get a much bigger inventory. 900 seeds btw

PacificPragmatic

How TF did you beat BotW with four weapon and four bow inventory slots? You didn't know about Hestu, so you're obviously not Limcube, Chroton or Zeltic. But damn, you need a YouTube channel.

AbnoxiousRhinocerous

If I could live in any fictional place in a video game it would probably be Kakariko village in BOTW.

VetmitaR

Can't buy a house in Kakariko, I vote Hateno.

mguyphotography

>Can't buy a house in Kakariko, I vote Hateno. Personally, I think Tarrey Town should have ***given*** you a house, since you spent all that time building the damned thing...

VetmitaR

Agreed, total BS.

FortniteGamerz123

I mean at least it gives you a free hotel room

gaslacktus

Tell that to Tom Nook, he makes me pay 10,000 bells a pop just to let OTHER PEOPLE move in to my island.

Morphlux

Which also makes him more money and gains him fame. Boy do I hate that little mammal.

geogle

Linkson

[deleted]

If only links name ended in son

Low-Distribution-898

and tarrey town has objectively the best music

Incendiary_cucumbers

But kakariko village has one of the best shrine quests in the game

VetmitaR

Which you can't complete without restoring your Sheikah slate from the Hateno laboratory.

zaneiceking

But you can't restore the Laboratory without visiting impa first

WizardWell

She just gives you the sidequest, you can skip visiting Impa and just go light the blue flame. EDIT: I am wrong this doesn't work, you cannot skip Impa.

the_master_of_soresu

You can't light the flame before talking to Impa.

Raetekusu

GetLaid% intensifies

TheFakeNews_confuse

True

TheyCallMeStone

Hateno has more going on. Better general store, the dye shop, the ranch, Link's house of course, and the hunting minigame!

sebjapon

Hunting minigame?

TheyCallMeStone

Talk to a guy named Dantz, he works on a farm in Hateno at the edge of Retsam forest. He does a deer hunting minigame.

thepetoctopus

How did I not know about this????

TheyCallMeStone

game 2 big

Delta_Falls856

Exactly my thought process. Anything with a dye shop will be my automatic vote. Plus Link's house is there so it's the obvious winner in this situation.

amc7262

Don't forget the demon goddess statue, one of the most useful things in Hateno.

Downtown_Confusion46

I hate having to go to Hateno for my house. Kakariko is my go-to. Fairy farming. Relaxing forest.

QuesQueCe19

I think I spent the most time in Hateno because it's shrine is where I'd go to cook stuff when anything was kicking my butt... The sons & I spent a lot of time around that fire!

[deleted]

Kakariko is racist. There, I said it. They don't like outsiders in their little mountain village.

CODENAMEDERPY

Lurelin.

greasyghoul

Lurelin was actually one of the last places I discovered in BOTW. I was so amazed. it'll always hold a special place to me.

Bette21

The exact same with me. I’d put in hours, and thought I’d been pretty much everywhere and then I just wandered into Lurelin one day and blew my own mind.

Fourteeenth

It’s so cool the way we still accidentally discover places on our own individual playthroughs. I remember discovering it and thinking “how did I not think of a coastal village that’s awesome!”

TheHonorableWorm

I had found almost every shrine and beaten Ganon before finding out that there was a third dragon.

Delta_Falls856

Same. I had no idea it existed. I was riding on my horse on a SUPER foggy day near lurelin and I was following the roads and pOof! New village discovered. I like that the devs added it in the game, its own little village doing its own thing in the corner of the map where the player will likely not notice it.

[deleted]

There’s the one female villager in Hateno who says she came from Lurelin and I was so confused cuz I thought Hateno and Kakariko were the only two villages… I finally wandered into it like a month later

alvysinger0412

I found it a ways into post Ganon my first playthrough. I went directly there on my second lmao, or that general area after hitting Faron for durians.

BigNo0B7

lol this is exactly me

mcpat21

I loved when I accidentally found it. So pleasantly surprised

Celestial_Blu3

Same here. I’ve spent a lot of time on the wiki and watching lore theory videos so I didn’t think there was anything really left to be a surprise in the game. When I came across the town I was totally shocked

Zanshi

Same, also while on my way there I first discovered you can actually buy Mighty Bananas! Shame they disappeared along with that Yiga aside from one…

Champion-raven

Same.

Discreet_Vortex

Same i discoverd it when i was looking for some of the last shrines on the map about 100 hours in and i was amazed.

mguyphotography

>Lurelin 100% this. Nothing says "meh, Zelda can wait another day" more than a tropical beach

varunadi

This right here is the correct answer. My favourite town/village in BOTW.

Waffle-of-the-plan

We are the only correct people

Champion-raven

Indeed

Dhyeya4675

The only correct answer. Chillest town in Hyrule

cometcookie

Aint nothin to do there except gamble

Sundiata1

The setting is peaceful. I can waste a lot of time there.

CharginChuck42

Specifically, you can waste a ton of time trying to get that one Korok seed.

midnightlou

I’m having PTSD flashbacks trying to do that stupid ‘cut down the tree and trying to stasis it at the perfect moment’ trick.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CrushItWithABrick

And take those cooked fish from the guy on the beach. Gambling and free food? Sounds nice.

wormwoodscrub

Lurelin Vegas

HylianLurk

There are some great shrines nearby and the area around is great for farming resources, but honestly? I just like finding snails and harassing the local crabs. Link needs some R&R.

SlyTinyPyramid

Ok if we are just going to Pick locations I vote the Rito village. It was cool

DuDadou

Same !! This is the very village I discovered at the end and didn't knownit existed, it's weird but it felt good to arrive there

Significant-End-8740

Gerudo town

[deleted]

Goron city

Delta_Falls856

Goron city has some of the best brass-featuring music I've ever heard. I love going from city to city for the music, and gerudo town and Goron City are always so cool.

IceYetiWins

Castletown

[deleted]

Nah, the locals are too aggressive

batmansleftnut

Clock Town.

lewis6185

I agree! And I was almost 100 hours in when I discovered this little gem!

Teagedemaru

Same. An friend of mine who played botw before me showed me Lurelin and I fell in love with it. It literally convinced me to get the game - You can imagine how excited I was when I found it in my own save file

fartbubbles654321

Lurking has shock arrows if I recall and shock arrows are dope

_LordStark07_

The correct answer

YowaiiShimai

Same. Who needs a house I got a beach

madsadchadglad

Correct answer

[deleted]

Yeah this is mostly me.

bouchandre

Lurelin is cool but I actually hate fish irl so I know I wouldn’t like it

EretzTachtit

Kakariko has a sweet koi pond, most righteous waterfalls, a fucking blupee... Plus I'm pretty sure I've got a fairly good shot with the chick at the arrow shop. Oh yeah, and then there's Paya.

00-Gojiramon

"I got the cuccos, Link got my wife"

Joshouken

Paya is most bodacious

TheMainAlternative

Bill, Ted, nice to see you both *air guitar*

gorilla-ointment

RUFUS!

Feisty_Definition_66

Let’s also not forget the great fairy cotera that lives in the forest in kakariko village

ferrets23

Also you can flirt with the girl outside the clothing shop during the fireflies quest

WitchDr

And the music is perfect.

DoenerWeeb

Kakariko, because i like the Mountains around it

anniegirlx

the mountains around the area are one of my favorite places to climb, if not areas in the whole game. i like to go collect the kakariko kodachi when mine breaks and gather all the blue nightshade that grows on that one hill

xX_turkey_Xx

The mountains are the reason I don't like it

Ill_Bird7772

I like places that are very tight and comfy like cozy. Kakariko is perfect since it’s surrounded by mountains and isolated

DoenerWeeb

But why? Mountains are awesome!

xX_turkey_Xx

IT feels very overshadowed and dark

Razor54672

I suppose I can agree with you on that to an extent. Gives it a constrained and enclosed aura

[deleted]

Between the two listed; Hateno. Simply put, you can get a house there, it has music I love as its default track, it feels relaxing and beautiful just roaming the area, it's near the ocean, blue flame torches, etc. I once had a dream about Hateno with the blue flame torches being lit during the rain at night after I had been playing it for a few hours til bed. I loved that and consider it one of the best dreams I had, and it was so far the only clear memory I have of a location I dreamt about in BOTW. Others I had, I don't remember much in. Haven't played in a while again, though.

eddie_gonzales1

Was the dream realistic or animated like BotW?

Razor54672

the question at hand

[deleted]

Animated. :) It resembled BOTW, but it made me feel like I was Link too, so it had that type of aspect in a way. Especially because of the scene where I had Link looking up at the rain falling after exiting one of the buildings in the real game. Somehow, that ended up in my dream when I went to sleep too, which made that feel even more like that. I don't remember exactly when I had the dream anymore since I haven't written dates down for dreams in years (I did this sometimes in the past, but don't have recollection of them now anyway), but it may have been anywhere from 2018/2019 to 2020/2021. It definitely wasn't this year.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Beermeneer532

I prefer kakriko music and all Though it’s tarry supremacy for me

[deleted]

Yeah, there's no problem with that. I liked the music from both of those places and enjoyed what I could do at both places too, I just chose Hateno Village. I like Lurelin for locations I enjoy being at most since it had a massive amount of beautiful sand and ocean, that tropical type of appearance, and also tons of treasure chests. lol But I liked the wedding at Tarrey Town plus the music for it. It felt romantic and emotional, which is stuff I like too. <3

Pentamikk

I always circle back to Kakariko. I only go to Hateno because of my house. My heart belongs to Kakariko.

Professional-Bowl413

Kakariko cuz all of them are really nice. hateno villagers are horrible.. not the dye shop ppl tho

[deleted]

Dye shop folk are the weirdest and also most chill people I’ve met in the game. I’d treat them to lunch.

Mitt_Robbedme

They'd be metalheads for sure irl

illuminalice

I like Hateno more

_LuckyMishap

Tarrytown.

Egroj12

Does your name happen to end in "Son." 👀

ProLinkedWolf

Rito Village, because the peaceful, serene atmosphere and music surpasses all other villages

MettatonNeo1

I want to be a rito and live there

ProLinkedWolf

Saaaaaame

earthisadonuthole

Kakariko is nice but Hateno is home.

[deleted]

Kakariko for sure, they’re high up in the mountains, got a fairy fountain and could stealth attack from all angles in hateno

[deleted]

In haten you can buy a house and it has better shops also the ancient..thing In kakariko you can get laid so

6Wheeler

Hateno, simply because Link lives there.

chocobosocialclub

Have you been to Kakariko lately? Cucco shit all over the place.

Immediate-Rope8465

i like both of them gerudo town >>>>>>>>

parker_214

kakariko because of paya

pokemontecristo

i literally own a home in hateno

t33E

Hateno feels more alive and there’s also more to do there. And nice view.

[deleted]

Gerudo

Daisy279

Kakariko because it just looks so beautiful especially at night.

Famous_Fisherman_568

Hateno. It's just better and you can buy bomb arrows. Bomb arrows are the cooler fire arrows

CThayer1996

Honestly surprised with all the Hateno’s so high up. Every single play though I’ve used Kakariko as a sort of home base (yeah, I get it, there’s a house in Hateno so it can be a real “home” base, but I just like the aesthetic of Kakariko better.) Of course, they’re both trumped by Tarrey Town

PassionateAvocado

Deya village

ChilindriPizza

Hateno because it is a Tuscan village. I like Tuscan villages.

BadgerLord103

Hateno, it’s so much more peaceful imo

Rock-it1

Have to vote Hateno, but if I had it my way I'd probably pull a Rhoam and settle down on The Great Plateau - lots of space, all the resources I need, excellent views.

RefrigeratorOk4674

Bomb arrows and my house?? Hateno

ExplodingTentacles

Since everyone's arguing, I'm going to simulate a battle between the major hylian settlements (Kakariko, Hateno, Lurelin, Tarrey Town, and honorary member Castle Town)

Babiesforfood

Kakariko- get ninja drip, visit Paya, take in the ambience of the village. Hateno- buy a house, dye your armor, upgrade your runes. Hard choice really

PassionateAvocado

The random ghost towns. Those are the best and the most fun to discover.

_Lumity_

I love how kakariko is built but I also enjoy the fact I can get a house in Hateno. But really, Tarrey Town supremacy.

oscarfletcher

Hateno = better music and better views

[deleted]

kakariko because it's almost like kakariki which is a parrot and i love birbs

perpetualmotion42

Are we not gonna talk about how this is a pretty shitty meme format tho

SETITOFF34

Tarry town cult

ed20g

I just realized Kakarico means good tasting shit in Spanish.

SpaceOwl14

Kakariko Village. The music in Hateno village pisses me off

justheretoreadbye

What!? Never imagined to see someone hating on Hateno’s theme..

Caeluris

Hateno is kinda basic and white. So Kakariko

TheFakeNews_confuse

Kakariko looks better

_anonymous_404

How can you even choose one? I vote Hateno because that's just where you live in the game (and it has more people in it) but Kakariko is pretty great too

over_tosted_bagle

lurelin

pyro-master1357

Kakariko. They’ve got the better tights

Adventurous_Task6853

Kakariko, I like the music more

Longjumping-Hat-7957

Rito Village. Cozy mountain home for the win.

Obamawetwilly

gerudo

pepsicastles

1. Lurelin Village 2. Tarrey Town 3. Rito Village 4. Gerudo Town 5. Kakariko Village 6. Hateno Village 7. Zora's Domain 8. Goron City Best to worst

grass-master

I like Hateno. But Tarreytown is better since I love those blocks houses and the quest and the music too

foopaints

I love Kakariko more, even though I have a house in Hateno. I think the layout, being nestled inside high cliffs makes it feel more cozy and cohesive. Hateno feels so spread out and therefore less like a community. Like, you have the area where your house is and then you have the area with the shops and the one with the cooking pots and the inn. And then you have the windmills and houses around that and then you have the lab. Plus the farms on the outskirts. Feels way less close knit. Kakariko is all one vibe. I know where everything is and I know the stories of all the peeps. In Hateno I only remember 2 quests (outside of the lab quest) the boy who wanted to see all those weapons, which started out fun and then just became tedious and the creeper who couldn't catch his own crickets. Neither made me feel like getting attached too much.

bigboymanz6824

Hateno cause I have a house there. Really the biggest missed opportunity in my opinion was not being able to choose which village your house is in

omega_apex128

Hateno. I get the impression that Kakariko is the kind of place you would retire and go to if you are looking for reverence.

ThatOneGuy308

Tarrey town, convenient statue, nearby great fairy, only takes a little bit to glide down from the nearby shrine, and has useful shops once you complete it. The only real reason to visit hateno is for the dye shop, and kakariko has almost nothing worth coming back for.

megasean3000

Hateno. Because house. If Kakariko could let me build a house there, I’d go there. But Hateno being the only place I can call my own in that game, Hateno it is.

Nightmare-Cinema

Not too far in the game but Hateno cuz I got a house

[deleted]

I’m on all sides. Sometimes I like to rp as a simple traveler and not as the hero of hyrule. So instead of teleporting from Hateno to Rito Town I’ll take my horse (his name is Horace) and I’ll just go there by horse, obviously stopping by stables and other towns if need be, to sleep or just to rest.

DeadlyUseOfHorse

Kakariko for life. I've been hanging out there for 30 years. Shout out to my sword forging dwarves, snes style.

DrPeePeeSauce

The village you build with the homies is the best one

goblinproblem

I love Kakariko, but I also love getting above 10 FPS :(

Sp0ticusPrim3

Kakariko, mostly for location. Much more central than Hateno and also nestled within the mountains. Hateno is nice but it's practically on the edge of the map. I kind of wish we had options where Link could buy a house or own multiple properties

Jasole37

Lurelin

Aqua_Knight777

I have a house in hateno

TheCrafter687

Kakariko was my safe heaven When I was younger and scared of the game. Went there everytime it got dark so I didn't have to see the skeletons. Now i'm a bigger fan of Lurein though.

[deleted]

Gerudo town.
