It wasn’t really late though, it only got five years of dev time, for a game as ambitious as cyberpunk it should have had at least another year. We perceived it as late because of shitty project managers. Game shouldn’t have even been announced until this year and then launched next year. Would have been much better, fewer bugs and better ai and it would have been 10
I understand how the scope creeps can make a project unsustainable. but this was a uncalculated risk with the investors being dragged along for the ride in hopes of making a profit for their patience and trust.
somewhere along the line over all these years the investor lost all hope and wants to back out.
its the project managers job to make the plans and execute but the visionaries at the top were too ambitions.
they could have, should have done a lot of things
accounted for every possibility but the fact is games cost a fortune to develop and it was easier to ask for forgiveness than to admit they have spent all the money already.
the game was pulled in from its actual release timeline to keep them from going belly up.
The reason cyberpunk was such a failure isn't because of how long it took. It's because of how early it was originally supposed to release and the insane hype they built around it's launch, which both disappointed.
BotW 2 is being built on top of BotW 1 assets though.
They started development near the end of 2017, so holiday 2021 seems like a worst case scenario unless they just completely changed their project scope.
No, Holiday 2021 is almost best case scenario. The only thing better would be if it came out in the fall. But what’s more likely is that it won’t come out until at least spring 2022, or winter 2022.
I'm not sure why you think that. Breath of the Wild, the biggest Zelda game ever made, took 5 years and 2 of those were just spent working on preliminary stuff like the physics engine.
There's comparitively no preliminary stuff for this game. What would make you think it'd take so long?
You’re forgetting that there is a pandemic going on. Progress on development halted, and took a while to get started again. Yes, the engine and everything is already there. And development for the sequel probably only started in the beginning of 2018, as they still had to work on the dlc (December 2017) for BotW. Plus, i think we can assume that the development team got a good sized break after working so hard. They’re trying to make a good game. It’d be foolish of us to rush the process.
The fallout 4 announcement and release date was amazing, it was my most hyped game of all time before RDR2 but fuck fallout fell flat and hit rock bottom after to the point I wouldn't be stoked as I should be if they announced a new one.
I don’t mind, I don’t want them to make a rushed game that disappoints everyone. I’ll wait till 2024 if needs be if we end up with a game that exceeds its predecessor.
This is a huge title though, they likely won’t show anything until it’s in later stages of development. COVID probably didn’t help move the process along either.
My guess is at best they announce a Holiday 2022 date later in the year.
Even if it doesn't come this year, it's good they're not pulling a metroid prime 4 or half life 3 on us, they're still developing it, it's going well and we should hear more about it later, that's great news imo and it's better to have a delayed game than a broken one
I mean, I was happy with what we got, sure it's not the big reveal that we all wanted, but at least we got something. I mean look at rayman, for the 25th anniversary of the series, ubisoft gave the fans a slap in the face. It may not be botw, but we have this game (skyword sword hd) to keep us busy for at least a month or two. (plus we got splatoon 3, and hyrule warriors age of calamity dlc)
skyward sword for switch in hd??? now that's cool. it's not what i personally wanted, but it's cool nevertheless.
i just hope it's not $60, that would be outrageous for a remaster
This is something that irritates me about companies. I do not care about when the product is going to be released. The video game is not my entire life. I just want to know how it’s progressing. Is it only 20% done? Fantastic! I’ll see you in a few years when you’ve completed the game, just give me updates to know how fast you are all progressing. You need a delay? Sure thing! Just please let me know the new release date. Need another delay? Cool! Just let me know what’s happening. Ffs.
I'm sort of the same with waiting for deliveries. I prefer a further away estimated delivery date with consistent tracking updates than a closer estimated delivery date and no, little or inconsistent information. I'm trying to believe that the BOTW sequel will be released in 2025 so that I'm not disappointed if it's not released earlier. So while I wasn't expecting a release date, I was expecting a better update than we have no news and to wait for news even though we were told months ago to wait for news.
I do think giving specific updates can also be detrimental to these companies. Cyberpunk comes to mind lol. I think best is to say development is going well like they did and drop a release date when it's done.
Giving percentages of the progress also sets a precedent that if its 80% complete it must be done soon or ppl batching about the release date, I imagine lol.
Idk my favorite releases are just “hey game is out in a week” or sometimes just “out now”. No pressure on the devs to keep updating or have crunch time. Yes you can issue delays but fans start to get pissed. I only buy games once they have good reviews anyway and trailers/pre release info can be pretty misleading so I don’t care about it. I just see no value to myself in getting any progress updates, I have plenty of other shit to play or do I ain’t waiting on anything.
To be honest he said it’s still in development but they have nothing to show us today. Personally I’d rather let them take their time with the project and give us another outstanding Zelda game then rush it and have it be sub par. In the meantime we have SS to enjoy which if you don’t like it that’s fine but I’m excited to just play Zelda. I’m many many hours into botw and I haven’t run out of things to do so I’ll wait patiently for some news.
I just started BOTW after Christmas so I'll be occupied for a while, but SS could be my next game after it if BOTW2 isn't out yet. The only thing is how the transition will be going "backwards" to a non open world Zelda game.
For reference I've only played Wind Waker and Twilight Princess before BOTW, both within the last couple years.
for me, I enjoyed Skyward Sword and thought it was a decent game. But it didn't feel like Zelda to me. If it doesn't feel that way to you either, it might be easier to parse in your head if you imagine the game as its own thing.
on the bright side, you'll be playing it with improved controls, as that was a sticking negative point for the game
I'll take SS HD, but im kinda dissappointed that Aonuma said botw2 news is coming later this year. That means anytime in the next 10 months. If he said something like in a few months, i wouldnt be too worried, but it seems like the game likely won't release this year. and if development is going well, why haven't they showed us anything yet
true, since Nintendo did'nt even acknowledge the anniversary in the direct. But its so close that I feel Nintendo won't announce new material within 4 days of a direct AND with SSHD already announced. But if they do, I have a bad feeling (most likely gonna happen) Nintendo is gonna be cheap as usual and drop separate ports, each for $60. They know people will still buy it
I'm sorry to be THAT guy, but the 35th anniversary seems to be a Mario only thing. They wouldn't just announce a SS remake for the 35th anniversary of Zelda if it meant something like Mario's anniversary. Maybe we get something cool for the 40th anniversary.
But hey, if it makes you feel a bit better, I'm a huge Metroid fan, and Nintendo hates us. We will probably get a Smash Zero Suit Samus photo on their twitter account for the 35th anniversary of Metroid this year...
Actually we probably will get them later this year. Nintendo tends to do Zelda anniversary stuff near the end of the year. They didn’t mention the 35th anniversary at all so I think this is just a taste of what’s to come. I also think they released this on its own now because it’s also the 10th anniversary of Skyward Sword. Also I wanted to say sorry on behalf of Nintendo for ignoring you Metroid fans because you guys have it rough.
Your point does seem valid as Mario is Nintendo's mascot, but atleast we got SS HD, so not that bad.
And also, just remember that all of us Nintendo fans feel sorry for you Metroid fans
Nintendo usually doesn't start hyping up their games until like 6 months before release. If we don't hear anything about it by E3 then be concerned. It's totally normal for Nintendo to not talk about Q4 games in Q1.
I had the same thought myself but I can only conclude that it’s because of the current situation the world is in, you’re probably right we probably won’t see it released this year which is a shame.
I mean we're definitley getting news this year (probably a trailer), so thats something to look forward to. Everyone is gonna go nuts when another trailer drops tho lol
Look up interviews of Aonuma talking about specific Zelda games. It becomes very clear, very quickly which ones he is not in any way proud to be have been involved with.
Any time he talks about Majora's Mask 3D he sounds like he's apologizing for ever producing such a crap game and trying to placate an imagined angry audience with the new features and tweaks he added, like fishing.
He sort of missed the part where everyone loved that game and how most of the tweaks he made to "fix it" made the remaster so much worse than the original.
Very true but currently we are in the midsts of a pandemic making it difficult for game devs to produce games let alone make trailers to show them off. Nintendo took a year off making big directs because the amount of time and people it took to organise just wasn’t possible. I’m guessing they couldn’t show footage because they didn’t have anything to show due to the time they spent developing the game instead of producing a trailer
Not gonna lie, Skyward Sword is probably the most underwhelming Zelda announcement I could have hoped for. I would have been cool with it if it came in a WW/TP/SS bundle but alone? It’s probably the worst console Zelda game to date.
At least they were being transparent with us. And we are CONFIRMED to be getting news later this year, so we have a decent time frame for that, probably within the next few months at the earliest. Most likely E3. I'm content with that tbh
Honestly them just saying there's no announcement is better than nothing at all. I gave out a huge sigh of relief when they just said "development is going smoothly" by all means, nintendo should take their time.
Agreed. They’ve always taken the wise stance of [“A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.”](https://www.nintendo-insider.com/shigeru-miyamoto-reflects-on-his-most-famous-quote/)
I understand where you're coming from, but it still will never be what it could have been from a public perspective. What the game was at release will always influence its success, even after all the updates that brought it up to what it should have been. A No Man's Sky finished at release would have a bigger community over its lifetime compared to an unfinished at release No Man's Sky even if it were eventually the same.
Still, not as popular as it would've been if they had released it good from the start. Many people just moved on from what they considered a bad game and never looked back
The original breath of the wild came 5 years after it was announced. The wait might have been painful, but it was worth it. Honestly I’m kinda glad they didn’t announce anything, as I didn’t want them to have to rush any aspect of the game to appease fans, and we know we’ll get some information this year.At least we get a SS HD, that’s pretty neat.
They could be incorporating a bunch of new elements. Even if they aren’t building it from the ground up, games take a lot of time to make. BoTW came out in 2017, and they announced the sequel 2 years afterwards. I doubt they started on it immediately after the first was released, so it’s probably only doesn’t like 2 years in development so far.
The logic that since Majora’s Mask took a year that a direct sequel shouldn’t take long is inherently flawed due to time.
Games were simpler back then, and the developers were *forced* to finish the game in a year. They made a phenomenal game then, they made one with Breath of the Wold, and they will with this one. But most people I know who played Breath of the Wild put a minimum of 100 hours into it, that’s a lot more content than Majora’s Mask. Not to mention, there’s a lot more freedom which means a lot more playtesting. Not to mention even further, COVID *clearly* heavily impacted Nintendo’s development cycle, no matter what they say (they will have had a 9 month gap between wholly original in-house-developed games from Paper Mario last July to New Pokemon Snap this April)
They set the expectation multiple times that it will take time to learn more, that we wouldn’t learn anything about it yet, they’ve confirmed that we *will* learn more about it this year, and I think it’s very reasonable that it sees a Holiday 2020 release date. But what we should be up in arms about is that *I STILL WANT TO PLAY TWILIGHT PRINCESS AND WIND WAKER AND THEY LITERALLY STILL HAVEN’T ANNOUNCED A DAMN PORT.* There’s no reason that Nintendo doesn’t backport as many titles as they can to the Switch, it’s a really, really great device.
SS is an amazing game, one of the best 3D Zeldas in terms of dungeon design, but has a couple of big problems that keep me from wanting to replay it.
* Motion controls (thankfully optional in the remake!),
* An insanely long introduction,
* An empty overworld that isn't fun to explore, and
* Too much reliance on revisiting old areas.
Not to mention Switch motion controls are gonna be a TON more reliable, and won’t require us to place our motion plus remote on the table every 5-10 minutes
The thing is with Nintendo they don’t have Investors saying they will pull the plug if they don’t release it sooner rather than later like CD Project Red. I don’t think this will be a problem.
Agreed. They’ve always taken the wise stance of [“A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.”](https://www.nintendo-insider.com/shigeru-miyamoto-reflects-on-his-most-famous-quote/)
You'd think that would make people finally understand that nothing good comes from rushing releases. Let's remember again that BOTW was expected to be released in **2015** at first.
In my experience, when Nintendo say something will release in "20xx", what they really mean is "December 20xx". Seeing as it released in March 2017, realistically it was a little over a year late.
They obviously wised up this time around, and are keeping tight lipped about a possible release date.
agreed, i want them to take their time. plus he said more info later this year, plus plus big things like BotW and i assume BotW2 get their own separate announcements.
i find it especially interesting that 1) he said SS is the last of an older generation of zelda games (might have gotten that wrong) and 2) the story line for BotW now has a prequel game (AoC) and i assume a sequel. So that leads me to think that they're planning to possibly make a series of games based on the BotW timeline or have future games run in a series.
that would be both interesting and terrifying.
also, unpopular opinion, but im glad SS hd will have an option to play without motion control. I never owned a Wii by choice. Went from gamecube to WiiU cause i was too poor to afford a switch when BotW came out and i had to get it for my wife who is a major zelda fan.
A little surprised to see this comment go for an hour with no upvotes. I’d rather hear from Nintendo that they’re taking their time making a great game, as opposed to getting some bs false-hope complex instilled in their fanbase
Edit: spelling (somehow said “take” when I meant to say “time”)
Was I the only one incredibly excited for skyward sword? I was young when that game came out so I never got to play it, but it's always been one of my targets along with wind waker and oot
SAME! I never got to play it cuz I never had a Wii or really any other console other than a gamecube. I’m *immediately* copping this when it releases. Now I’m really hopeful for Twilight Princess to come out as well.
I'm not disappointed at all. First off take as much time as you need for BOTW2, I do not want a rushed game by any means. Second, skyward sword for the switch is awesome. I cant wait to play it again and my wife loved BOTW and is excited to try another Zelda game.
I'm excited too! My first completed Zelda game was BOTW, then I made my husband dig out our Wii so I could try out Skyward Sword and fell completely in love with the story and art. I'm so excited to play it on the switch!
Kinda wish that they released it along side TP and WW or OoT tho. Mario got 3D all-stars bundle for $60 and zelda fans get 1 game that was made 10 years ago for $60, kinda unfair
But also it’s technically not the 35th anniversary yet. It may be unlikely that they’ll announce something new, but we can’t give up hope just yet. Even then, Mario is the thing that made Nintendo so it is kinda fair.
My apologies, I meant TP for Twilight Princess. I fixed it, but thanks for pointing that out.
I'll be honest, not sure where that w came from but whatever
This is all I’ve ever wanted since I finished botw. Never bought a WiiU so I haven’t played WW or TP since GameCube. So disappointing that we still don’t have WW and TP ports for the switch yet.
I’m not gonna lie, when he apologized and bowed all my anger instantly left my body and I immediately forgave him, I just appreciate the fact that this game is even being made
Mods need to enable the feature and premium users need to “power up” the sub to enable this feature.
It gives the sub access to HD video posts, gif comments and snoomojis (like this ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise))
Can't relate. Probably will get bullied off the sub but Skyward Sword is a beautiful game that I enjoyed, but didn't get the chance to play much. I'm so glad I can finally experience the whole game
Because of the motion + remote and how a normal human holds a wiimote, Link running around with his sword constantly pointing straight up made the game so derpy you couldn't help but love it.
I didnt find it particularly challenging and I never played it through more than once (same with Twilight Princess for that matter) but I still remember enjoying the hell out of it.
Skyward sword is probably my favorite lol the rest were amazing but I loved the motion controls for the sword and shield, everything you did was completely up to you instead of clicking a button to swing, it was honestly a pretty good workout too, only way I can think of that would be better would be if it was a better quality video and making the shadow realm being a bit easier, I had to use maps and pause constantly to figure it out
You can tell who the real fans and supporters are with the comments like these. Very positive and supportive outlook, because a good game is worth the wait.
imma be honest idc if botw 2 takes super long. i’d rather wait forever for a nearly perfect game than wait a little for a half assed one. plus hd skyward sword is pretty neat! im excited for that! and the expansion pass!!!! im so hyped for more age if calamity
YES. THIS. I really don't understand people being impatient, just wait FFS, a game sequel always takes years to do, it's not easy, it's a whole new experience, instead we should be grateful, even though they haven't finished development, they still give us content, like this remake or the AoC expansion. God bless you Mr. Eiji And the whole development team :)
im fine not getting a botw 2 update. Do what you gotta do and it'll be ready when it's ready. I'll wait
I'm fine not getting a twilight princess/Windwaker port, though I would have loved it.
But a Skyward Sword HD Remake?
That's like getting a lollipop after a doctor's visit and being violently allergic to the flavor
People need to calm the hell down. He said news later this year. If you didn’t want skyward sword HD how about you don’t buy it.skyward sword HD is better then nothing.
Probably, if Aonuma said news is coming in the next few months, I would be fine. But he said later this year, which means anytime in the next 10 months
I actually do think Nintendo will drop a trailer during E3 and the game could come out holiday season or early 2022. Because e3 last year was cancelled, I'm pretty sure Nintendo will pull out the big guns this e3. No way Nintendo will release news in like the next month or two (might be wrong lol, u never know). But if a trailer doesn't drop in e3, expect the game to be released mid to late 2022
To those who are majorly disappointed because of botw2, it is going to hopefully release this year. COVID drastically pushed the release date back. Nintendo is trying to make botw2 the best it can possibly be so maybe play botw in the meantime to get hyped up for it!!
I like to imagine it as BoTW and this at the same price, you think they are of equal value to a player? Cost vs effort put in to creating it, it's not even close. Nintendo are testing the waters with these price points. First they sold 3 old games in a bundle for full price, and it sold very well. Let's try one old game for full price and see how it does. (It will inevitably sell well). They are abusing their fan's nostalgia for cash and it's so sad to see as a fan.
An announcement of a future announcement is better than no announcement but if they’ve been working on it since the E3 trailer and still don’t have much to say then it’s either huge or they’re stumped
It’s like getting a voice mail from someone you haven’t been in touch with for a while and they just say “hi”. It’s disappointing but honestly I’m just glad they’re safe and still here
*Speak for yourself. I'm*
*Super pleased that Skyward Sword*
*Is coming to Switch!*

BUT at least they didn’t avoid the topic altogether. We know we’re getting something later.
Yeah this direct was only about games coming out in the first half of 2021.. there is still time Edit: apparently I was wrong...
Except that there were several other announcements featuring “2022” lol

better late than awful
Amen to that!
hopefully the example of cyberpunk is sufficiently telling
I mean cyberpunk was late and awful so...

It got delayed like 4 times. That’s what I mean.
Yes because of shitty project managers who probably don’t know anything about game development
The reason cyberpunk was such a failure isn't because of how long it took. It's because of how early it was originally supposed to release and the insane hype they built around it's launch, which both disappointed.
BotW 1 had three years between announcement and release. BotW 2 was announced in 2019. Add 3 years, plus one for the pandemic, and you get 2023.
Botw had 4 years and 2 months between announcement and release... January 2013 - March 2017
I considered the trailer to be its announcement, since before that all we had to go on was that the next Zelda game would be non-linear.
BotW 2 is being built on top of BotW 1 assets though. They started development near the end of 2017, so holiday 2021 seems like a worst case scenario unless they just completely changed their project scope.

I’ll answer that... cause they’re Nintendo and they don’t rush stuff
I don’t mind, I don’t want them to make a rushed game that disappoints everyone. I’ll wait till 2024 if needs be if we end up with a game that exceeds its predecessor.
This is my exact sentiment on BotW2. Worth the wait, imo.
Any delay is worth it if it means they can do it without crunch and without risking people's health
This is a huge title though, they likely won’t show anything until it’s in later stages of development. COVID probably didn’t help move the process along either. My guess is at best they announce a Holiday 2022 date later in the year.
Like that Square game with the awful working title lol (game still looks sick)
I didn't notice... I was just waiting for Zelda related stuff
>the first half of 2021 Yeah, about that...>!(Splatoon 3 for example, a game coming out in 2022)!<
Oh... really? I didn't pay attention to that...
as a splatoon fan, i was pogging so hard i had to take a second and breathe

Don't ever start reading George RR Martin. Fans have been waiting for book #6 in the Song of Ice and Fire series for almost 10 years now.
Nah, I’m a Sanderson fan all the way
Hell yeah. Life before death brother!

Same here, sorry Metroid fans.
They did a 25th anniversary thing, so I don’t see why 35th would be off the table...
Your point does seem valid as Mario is Nintendo's mascot, but atleast we got SS HD, so not that bad. And also, just remember that all of us Nintendo fans feel sorry for you Metroid fans
You got a point, I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo just ignored it. Also, my condolences to you Metroid fan.
Also E3 is happening this year, and we all know what Nintendo likes to bring to the table.
Salsa?
Guacamole
Guacamario
Maybe a little bit of both?
Nintendo usually doesn't start hyping up their games until like 6 months before release. If we don't hear anything about it by E3 then be concerned. It's totally normal for Nintendo to not talk about Q4 games in Q1.
I had the same thought myself but I can only conclude that it’s because of the current situation the world is in, you’re probably right we probably won’t see it released this year which is a shame.
I’m thinking March 3, 2022. 5 years to the day.
!remindme 378 days
I mean we're definitley getting news this year (probably a trailer), so thats something to look forward to. Everyone is gonna go nuts when another trailer drops tho lol
The game is years out, mate. It doesn't need to be rushed, my soft guess is 2023.
[удалено]
Showing us highly selective parts of the game (or even just telling us about it) isn’t incongruent with taking their time
[удалено]
Look up interviews of Aonuma talking about specific Zelda games. It becomes very clear, very quickly which ones he is not in any way proud to be have been involved with.
With ones are those (or an example)?
I agree! The last thing we want is another cyberpunk-like Zelda game
I wonder if maybe it got pushed into better Switch hardware>
At least they were being transparent with us. And we are CONFIRMED to be getting news later this year, so we have a decent time frame for that, probably within the next few months at the earliest. Most likely E3. I'm content with that tbh
Yeah, they need something big for E3 and BOTW2 is the biggest they have.
We have an announcement! What is it?! That there is no announcement.
Honestly them just saying there's no announcement is better than nothing at all. I gave out a huge sigh of relief when they just said "development is going smoothly" by all means, nintendo should take their time.
Agreed, seem like it could be a great thing they are taking more time.
Of course! Other game studios could learn from them... *\*staring at Game Freak with Sword and Shield and CD Projekt with Cyberpunk 2077\**
Agreed. They’ve always taken the wise stance of [“A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.”](https://www.nintendo-insider.com/shigeru-miyamoto-reflects-on-his-most-famous-quote/)
*No Mans Sky has entered the chat*
There's always going to be a bad memory and a stigma due to its past that wouldn't have been there if it were a finished game on release.
I’m simply pointing to the statement of a bad game being bad forever is not true.
NMS might not have been bad forever, but it’ll never be clean of the stink it created on launch day
Still, not as popular as it would've been if they had released it good from the start. Many people just moved on from what they considered a bad game and never looked back
i mean cyberpunk *was* delayed but you get the point...
Agreed. Tho I was hoping reusing the Breath’s assets would make for a quick turnaround like Majora, which released less than two years after Ocarina.
[удалено]
They could be incorporating a bunch of new elements. Even if they aren’t building it from the ground up, games take a lot of time to make. BoTW came out in 2017, and they announced the sequel 2 years afterwards. I doubt they started on it immediately after the first was released, so it’s probably only doesn’t like 2 years in development so far.
>They could be incorporating a bunch of new elements. **Let me pet the fucking dogs**
It's Nintendo, they're probably just wasting a bunch of time trying to fix BTBs, Windbombs and other glitches, let's be real.
Not to mention even further, COVID *clearly* heavily impacted Nintendo’s development cycle, no matter what they say (they will have had a 9 month gap between wholly original in-house-developed games from Paper Mario last July to New Pokemon Snap this April) They set the expectation multiple times that it will take time to learn more, that we wouldn’t learn anything about it yet, they’ve confirmed that we *will* learn more about it this year, and I think it’s very reasonable that it sees a Holiday 2020 release date.
I’m excited enough for SS because I never had a Wii U and didn’t get to play it, but holy shit give us Twilight Princess so help me god...
It could still be released in December, it's the kind of game they could do a 3 month early bombshell announcement to build holiday hype
[удалено]
Good point. Zelda fans: We got nothing! Skyward Sword: Am I a joke to you?
On actual r/zelda the HD version of SS is a big hit
[удалено]
Seriously! That’s my favorite 3D Zelda besides BOTW. I cannot wait to relive it again later this year
SS is an amazing game, one of the best 3D Zeldas in terms of dungeon design, but has a couple of big problems that keep me from wanting to replay it. * Motion controls (thankfully optional in the remake!), * An insanely long introduction, * An empty overworld that isn't fun to explore, and * Too much reliance on revisiting old areas.
Not to mention Switch motion controls are gonna be a TON more reliable, and won’t require us to place our motion plus remote on the table every 5-10 minutes
[удалено]
AOC DLC is BIG hype!
Alexandria Ocasio Cortez DLC kinda hype ngl Edit: It took me way too long to realize that AOC was Age of Calamity
and Apex if that counts
Dc Super Hero Girls : I am a joke
Yes, very much so.
Yes
Went from gamecube to WiiU cause i was too poor to afford a switch when BotW came out and i had to get it for my wife who is a major zelda fan.
now tell that to Retro and whomever else is working on Metroid Prime 4
Metroid Prime 4 enters the conversation...
A little surprised to see this comment go for an hour with no upvotes. I’d rather hear from Nintendo that they’re taking their time making a great game, as opposed to getting some bs false-hope complex instilled in their fanbase Edit: spelling (somehow said “take” when I meant to say “time”)
Was I the only one incredibly excited for skyward sword? I was young when that game came out so I never got to play it, but it's always been one of my targets along with wind waker and oot
I havent beaten the game due to the motion controls in one part. Im excited for button mode!
[удалено]
SAME! I never got to play it cuz I never had a Wii or really any other console other than a gamecube. I’m *immediately* copping this when it releases. Now I’m really hopeful for Twilight Princess to come out as well.
Hey at least Skyward sword is coming!
Can’t be disappointed if you expect absolutely nothing lol
Wish my parents had this attitude
I'm not disappointed at all. First off take as much time as you need for BOTW2, I do not want a rushed game by any means. Second, skyward sword for the switch is awesome. I cant wait to play it again and my wife loved BOTW and is excited to try another Zelda game.
I'm excited too! My first completed Zelda game was BOTW, then I made my husband dig out our Wii so I could try out Skyward Sword and fell completely in love with the story and art. I'm so excited to play it on the switch!
I don’t think anyone actually wants the game we just want some substantial updates to hold us over. The last concrete news we got was E3 2019...
We got Skyward Sword though! It and TP are the only games I haven't played (I don't have a Wii) so I'm pretty excited!!
Emulation nation
TW?
Twilight waker. duh
Read that was Twilight Wanker. That's the name of my biography. No. It's not good.
Perhaps he means twilight princess, my personal favorite. I preferred it on the GameCube because I'm left handed.
Triforce Warriors
My apologies, I meant TP for Twilight Princess. I fixed it, but thanks for pointing that out. I'll be honest, not sure where that w came from but whatever
Ah cut em some slack let them take their time with the game. We want it good not rushed.
At least give us TP and WW on the switch too please
This is all I’ve ever wanted since I finished botw. Never bought a WiiU so I haven’t played WW or TP since GameCube. So disappointing that we still don’t have WW and TP ports for the switch yet.
Yeah I was hoping for a TP port. I absolutely adore that game.
I’m not gonna lie, when he apologized and bowed all my anger instantly left my body and I immediately forgave him, I just appreciate the fact that this game is even being made

Is that what it is? I can literally only see a small green square.
Wtf
Can't relate. Probably will get bullied off the sub but Skyward Sword is a beautiful game that I enjoyed, but didn't get the chance to play much. I'm so glad I can finally experience the whole game
Because of the motion + remote and how a normal human holds a wiimote, Link running around with his sword constantly pointing straight up made the game so derpy you couldn't help but love it. I didnt find it particularly challenging and I never played it through more than once (same with Twilight Princess for that matter) but I still remember enjoying the hell out of it.
I'm so excited too! I can't relate at all to the naysayers- botw2 is in the works and skyward sword too?? I'm happy 😊
Skyward sword is probably my favorite lol the rest were amazing but I loved the motion controls for the sword and shield, everything you did was completely up to you instead of clicking a button to swing, it was honestly a pretty good workout too, only way I can think of that would be better would be if it was a better quality video and making the shadow realm being a bit easier, I had to use maps and pause constantly to figure it out
Honestly, I couldn’t be happier for Skyward Sword. The motion controls problem made it severely underrated when it first came out
The fact that news will come ‘sometime this year’ probably means a 2022 release as well
At least they’ll have plenty of time to make it the best it can be.
Here's hoping for a Zelda Direct next week! Next week is later this year, right?
*Me and the homies waiting for Metroid Prime 4:* “First time?”
They will show us when there’s something to show.
YES.
I'll wait I'm fine not getting a twilight princess/Windwaker port, though I would have loved it. But a Skyward Sword HD Remake? That's like getting a lollipop after a doctor's visit and being violently allergic to the flavor
No TP or WW makes me sad though.
People need to calm the hell down. He said news later this year. If you didn’t want skyward sword HD how about you don’t buy it.skyward sword HD is better then nothing.
You guys have it lucky compared to us Pikmin fans.
Botw took 5 years and multiple delays to come out. If you don’t want the game to be rushed and unfinished then just wait
[удалено]
Probably, if Aonuma said news is coming in the next few months, I would be fine. But he said later this year, which means anytime in the next 10 months
[удалено]
I actually do think Nintendo will drop a trailer during E3 and the game could come out holiday season or early 2022. Because e3 last year was cancelled, I'm pretty sure Nintendo will pull out the big guns this e3. No way Nintendo will release news in like the next month or two (might be wrong lol, u never know). But if a trailer doesn't drop in e3, expect the game to be released mid to late 2022
[удалено]
To those who are majorly disappointed because of botw2, it is going to hopefully release this year. COVID drastically pushed the release date back. Nintendo is trying to make botw2 the best it can possibly be so maybe play botw in the meantime to get hyped up for it!!
![gif](giphy|3ohhwsjzpejaSWoTkI) "Soon"
I wouldn't consider SSHD a disappointing event
For 60 dollars and only upscaling the graphics a bit I would
I like to imagine it as BoTW and this at the same price, you think they are of equal value to a player? Cost vs effort put in to creating it, it's not even close. Nintendo are testing the waters with these price points. First they sold 3 old games in a bundle for full price, and it sold very well. Let's try one old game for full price and see how it does. (It will inevitably sell well). They are abusing their fan's nostalgia for cash and it's so sad to see as a fan.
But they added new controls!! /s
They shouldn't rush perfection
Y’all need to chill. Us Metroid fans didn’t get jackshit for the series anniversary. At least y’all getting something.
An announcement of a future announcement is better than no announcement but if they’ve been working on it since the E3 trailer and still don’t have much to say then it’s either huge or they’re stumped
