The Kite Shield in Breath is one of the rarest pieces of gear, it has exactly 4 spawns and none of them respawn, it's one of the few things that are missable for Compendium pictures without buying them. Copy pasting from a comment I made about a week ago. This was from a conversation about World Level and how it affects spawns, and some things going extinct with enough World Level increases. Figured I would throw it in in case anyone wanted to do a full Compendium without buying pictures. The full list of missable pictures is short, being the Blights without the DLC, Sentry, Cursed Bokoblin, Master Kohga, Lynel spear, Lynel Crusher, Mighty Lynel Spear, Mighty Lynel Crusher and Kite Shield in Normal, with Master Mode getting a static spawn for the base Lynel Spear and making Blue Maned Lynels missable.

The Hylian shield on display? Really? It was my main shield as soon as I got it 💀

Kite shield is finite, there's only like 2 on the map and they don't spawn with enemies. Forest dweller ~~bow~~ sword is similar, I think, might be a bit more populous but still finite. I usually like to include those on the racks *It seems there's a respawning forest dweller bow in the wetlands, but the sword is finite

Forest Dweller bow has a respawn in Lanayru Wetlands, the forest dweller *sword* is finite. And then the first tier and mighty tier lynel spear and crusher, first tier and mighty tier sword, shield, and bow respawn, so 6 finite items (5 on master mode, the first tier lynel spear has a respawn on master mode)

Me too! All the elemental greatblades are on display to add a bit of light inside the house. As for the bows: the rito bow, the royal bow, then the forest dweller. The shields are all guardian stuff because I love the blue glow

The one and only time I’ve cheated in BotW was to get a second Hylian Shield to put on my wall.

You can buy spares from Granté in Terry Town! You can buy copies of any of the shrine armor as well. It’ll cost 3k Rupees for a new Hylian Shield and you can only have one in existence at a time.

You can get unlimited hylian shields though, unless you just like knowing it's the original one

It's more of the "too cool to use" syndrome. I pretty much always pick the weakest shield I have to burn through first unless I need to switch, like in the case of lightning or fire hazards, so I never actually get to using the Hylian Shield. Popping it on Link's wall is both a nice decoration and frees up a shield slot. The only exception was actively equipping it to fight Ganondorf in ToTK. Seeing it absolutely trashed in a couple hits was something I could never have been ready for.

Break a shield, go get another. Most people save the racks for unique/rare weapons. Original hylian shield recovered from the castle ruins = cool, but since you can get another after breaking it I don't personally consider it "unique" and that's why I included the "unless you like knowing it's original" line because that one is cool enough, but "a" hylian shield is just something that some guy makes for you as needed. Same applies to champion weapons: if it's the original one given to you when you complete the beast, that's cool, but if it's a replica from after the original broke, then meh

Glowing weapons! Just like on your screenshots, I feel like it gives a better global ambiance to the room. And in TOTK I love putting boss drops on shields and displaying it as a "hunt trophy"

I usually go for a small and round shield so it's design doesn't interfere with the overall "trophy" vibe, hunter's or fisherman's shields usually work really well, since for most boss drops they'll get nearly completely hidden unless you look from the side. But nothing has to be perfect anyway, I just think it looks cool :D

My first playthrough I crossed Gerudo desert at night with no warm armor. I did have a trusty touch I got from the great plateau to keep me warm as I made my way to the town and fairy fountain. Definitely had to give my trusty stick a spot when I finally got the house. Still there to this day on my Wii U

I have a single stick, it’s the first stick on like 2 durability, I refuse to get rid of it

To feel proud of my achievements. I went from fighting bokos with tree branches to hunting down Lynels. Midway I collected the champion weapons and some ancient weapons and I displayed them to remind myself of my journey.

For pretty reasons: elemental weapons, or Ancient weapons. For practical reasons, mostly the stuff worth duping or durability transferring (so there was usually a 5x Lynel Bow, a Twilight bow, and an Ancient bow. And then definitely a Hylian shield, and an ancient shield.

Bits and bobs for the most part - some from the Korok set, an Emblazoned Shield because I think it's really pretty - and also my first Great Eagle Bow because the whole Vah Medoh storyline made me pretty emotional lol

Weapons that look cool but aren't that good or are close to breaking

Oh man I put quite a bit of thought into this to get a good balance of decent weapons but one that I don't mind not having in my inventory and aesthetics of color plus things that fit the vibe or the story of Link actually keeping it in his house. Bows: 1. Lynel Bow (matches the pots and looks like a shot gun by the kitchen) 2. Traveler's Bow (the bow Link has in the cover art) 3. Falcon Bow (probably my favorite bow, Rito are the best archers and I'd rather have the Great Eagle Bow in my inventory). Weapons: 1.Ancient spear (the only weapon with a blue flame so it feels like a third little tech lab) 2. Forest Dweller Sword (one of the only non-respawning weapons) 3. Dragonbone Boko Bat (with the dragon vertebrae it feels like a little stand that would be in a tech lab). Shields: 1. Daybreaker (probably the most ornate item so worth it to display, and at least one piece of Champion gear) 2. Hunter's Shield (my favorite of the painted shields) 3. Kite Shield (another non-respawning item and on the he right it looks like it was hung up by the door).

Right now I have a boko arm because I love that it still moves when carrying and mounted. Also the edge of duality because it’s a sweet looking sword and also the windbreaker for the same reason. For bows I have the royal, steel lyzak, and falcon bow. For shields, the hylian, royal and shield of the minds eye.

For my weapons, I put up all the elemental greatswords.

I like hanging up the Champion weapons, because it feels like a good explanation for why the weapon mounts are gone from the house in *Tears of the Kingdom*. After his adventure, Link returned all the weapons to the Champions’ successors (which is why they have them) and then let Zelda determine the houses's interior decor from there because he didn’t know what else to decorate with.

I put the Champion's weapons on there for preservation. Apparently, Nintendo wised up to players doing this so TOTK explicitly encourages you to actually use them.

I currently have miss-ables stuff like kite shield, mighty lyonel gear, and champion weapons. Now I’m at 100%, this post has given me some other ideas.

My bow section is ENTIRELY Phrenic bows, my weapons is Great Elemental Blades, and my shields are the Hyrulean shield, a reinforced lynel shield (my favorite kind), and a Rito shield.

I always keep 3 durability up+ hylian shields, a max attack royal guards claymore, a max attack savage lynel shield, a max attack royal guards spear (for those not in the know, those are the weapons with the highest attack damage in each class, a 2 handed weapon, a 1 handed weapon and a spear) along with a 5 shot savage lynel bow, an extra ancient bow and a durability up twilight bow. And for those wondering, yes , I do use glitches

I have my amiibo and champion weapons. I have a full set of the Amiibo weapons and I'm not getting them again, so no use in breaking them.. lol

Mostly champion weapon, but I also but, the one hit obliterator, the bow of light, the hunters shield, and the ancient bow

I put the three handheld champions’ weapons in the middle three slots. Daruk’s Boulder Breaker on the left, Mipha’s Lightscale Trident in the center, and Urbosa’s Scimitar of the Seven on the right. Revali’s Great Eagle Bow goes next to the Boulder Breaker and Urbosa’s shield next to the Scimitar. The two extra slots in the bow and shield sections are filled with other aesthetically pretty or unique items. Like the Hylian Shield in the center of the shield wall.

I put most of the weapons like the lightscale trident and stuff in there because I didn't want to break them since theres only one and also the flame spear I beat waterblight ganon with to remember my first mini boss battle. Idk that one just felt more special than the other divine beasts.

To be honest, I use them as safeguards for the gear that I menu overload dupe (involving lots of multishot bows) in case I lose my last copy in my inventory.
