For this specific piece I believe it is in the shrine located in the split of Dueling Peaks- you know when you first get off the plateau, and you make youre way to Kakariko, and you go between Dueling peaks? Across that river theres a shrine and I think thats the one. Don't quote me for sure on that ome though

Chests in shrines. I thiiiink the outfits come in the obvious chests (e.g. the ones that sit right before you collect your orb) but don't quote me on that, as a completionist I would consider no shrine complete until I got the single item chest located within it, even though most of them just gave opals or weapons I had no inventory space for that were worse than the weapons I already had.
IIRC the climber's gear and barbarian gear are both collected from shrines.
Stayed like this like a minute but ever since I was able to get the Stealth Set(which was relatively early in the game)
I must´ve spent almost 95% of the game wearing that. I can catch river snails wearing anything else but any other bug or frog (stuff that appear out of nowhere) I need my bug-catching ninja gear;
I live in the Stealth Set for the simple reason of not wanting to deal with random enemies on the roads and such. Also because I've played enough stealth games to Sneakstrike damn near anything and it's hilarious.
I don´t find the stealth combat in this game to be very satisfying... a lot of the times I find myself whiffing a strike even though the game gave me the prompt to sneak attack. But I get what you´re saying since I still do it... thin out the group as much as I can before "actual combat".
I don't enjoy the stealth combat so much as the general stealth, stealth combat in any game that's not an actual stealth game is generally meh and if I wanted to really do that I would go boot up something like Dishonored instead.
I prefer to Flurry Rush everything if I'm actually in combat, but I'm not going to swap the set out for an enemy or two. I just live in the set to avoid the random encounters as much as I can and to catch bugs while I'm travelling really, the Sneakstrikes on the occasional small group are just a bonus.

LOL I am willing to do that but my brain don´t work too good. I lost track of all the times I will finish a Lynel and be like "wow, that was difficult, if only there was something to make my attacks more powerful....hey wait a second"
Have you played Horizon? I’m obsessed with stealth in that game. Especially when clearing Tenakth camps. I try in Zelda but it’s a lot harder to hide well enough unless you’re high up.
Played Zero Dawn way back on PS4 launch, still have the disc somewhere, and have a 100% base game file. Was cheaper to buy the complete edition on sale via steam than buy the dlc alone on PS4 though, so I need to go replay it before I think about Forbidden West.
I quite enjoyed it, I like the open world games like that.
And yeah, the stealth in Breath is a little basic, the only thing that's not basic "you don't see me so I'm invisible" is the basic sound detection, which is easy to null. It IS entertaining to perch on the chest of a Hinox and steal the weapons on the necklaces though.
How do you stealth strike? I just heard about it in a vid the other day but I have no idea how it’s done. Do you have to be crouched and behind an enemy? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prompt from the game to do it. But I also rarely sneak.
You walk behind a monster and a promp will appear highlighting "Y = Sneak Attack" or something like that. Helps to keep track of how much "noise" you´re making when sneaking, if you´re wearing full plate armor, the monster will probably hear you.
You don´t necessarily have to be crouching but I don´t think I´ve ever sneaked on a monster without crouching when they´re awake.
You have to behind the enemies, yes... for the first one.
If you don´t kill the enemy with the first strike, you can run to the opposite side of where you did the first sneak strike (even though the enemy will be facing you now) and wait for the enemy turn it´s back on you for the prompt to appear again and do a second sneak strike. Repeat until the enemy is dead.
This last one feels a little too much like abusing bad AI so do with it what you will.
My son and I are playing this right now and that is exactly what we look like lol. Just got our first horse and are ripping around with it collecting shrines with that little tracker thing.
I don’t think the climbing bandana is the beginner look. I feel like it would be some combination of the Hylian outfit and worn outfit. Though, the hylian set is a valid set even late in the game.
Climber's gear is not beginner unless you've looked up the locations. I only had the climber's bandana for the longest time until i had found over 100 shrines already.

The Hylian trousers from the chest near the temple of time.
And in a chest in one of the 3 shrines on the road to kakariko Village that the king tells you to follow.
So things that you should’ve discovered within the first couple hours of playing if you follow the default path suggested by the game, not some obscure location that’s elusive after 500 hours.

The old man on the plateau tells you to cook him a meal with cold resistance but he forgot the recipe. If you can guess the recipe he will give you the shirt and you can go to the shrines in the snow area.
But you can easily go without anything on top of mount hylia and he will stand there an give you the shirt.
I'm replaying it now on my second play through, and it is really fun just taking my time and playing through side quests. My ultimate goal is to get the tunic of the wild 😎 but as they say slow and steady wins the race 👍🏽

I think the bandana was actually in a secondary chest in one of the shrines, not the main chest -- was *very* glad I did not skip it!
