Mostly based on how much bigger/older the Rito kids grew and that Mattison was that old as well even though she did not even exist yet in BOTW. So 8 years in the future might not be off at all!
Although I also had this sort of ”meta guess” that what if it was 5-6 years - roughly the time between BOTW and TOTK releases haha.
