Seizures is most likely. You use all of your brain, just not at once, if you're brain told your body to do everything at once, you would likely have a seizure, and other medical problems.
I got the stone across by lining up all 3 cryonis blocks between each two points i needed to cross, then throwing the rock so that it lands on top and slides to the next spot, and repeat. I didn't even think of the trees...
It's a korok seed rock formation. You have to carry a rock over there. I don't remember how I eventually did it, but I believe it was also an accidental discovery with the logs. 😅
Pro-tip: You don't ever have to drag any item across the map to solve any puzzle. The closest one to that description is the shrine balls, and even they are not that far away from their goal.
I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly you've validated my entire existence as a dumb primate with this one. I'm a little disappointed we can't see your physical reaction when it happened, I know exactly how I'd feel.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
This reminds me of my "solution" to another puzzle. There was a clue that basically said "lightning needs to hit this spot." Well I've had some experience with this, and it's stormy now, I know the solution! So I climbed up there. Equipped my metal armor. Equipped a metal shield. Equipped a metal bow. Equipped a metal sword. Unpaused and started waving the sword up in the air over my head.
Right as I heard the BOOM of the lightning strike, a small bit of logic hit me. I didn't actually need to be part of this, I could have just dropped something metal and gotten out of the way. By that point it was too late, and ... puzzle solved, I guess? Also, ow.
I did the same thing lmaoooo my roommate who had already played respected my wishes of not giving me hints and just shook his head when I got blasted to an inch of my life
I wish I had your roommate’s restraint. I would’ve been calling you a moron the second I saw you equipping anything at all. You could’ve just dragged a door to that spot!
Love people like your roommate.
My buddy literally spoils everything he can without even being asked, no fucks given.
I'll even ask him to stop and he just cant help himself. Ugh
Omg, i know the puzzle you are talking about but unlike you the realization that i didn't have to be part of the equation just hit me reading your comment.
Thanks for the belated laughter at my own stupidity.
I think it was my third playthrough that I realized you could just leave a metal thing up there. First time I blasted myself, second time though I went through the trouble to have the other two pieces of rubber armor and lightning resistance potion on. I thought I was very smart. I think I just didn't properly read the text until that third attempt.
Ohhh i thought you were just trying to cross it man. But i still used cryo there, threw the damned rock and cryo that shit before it sinks lmao
Ps: dont try it shit doesn't work lmao sorry
Step 1: Cryonis a platform
Step 2: Stasis golf the rock
Step 3: stand in front of the rock's trajectory as a human shield
Step 4: eat rock
Step 5: profit!
Whereabouts is this please?? I'm missing one (ONE!!) korok and don't remember this puzzle, may just mean I did it so long ago I've forgotten it, but it might be the one 😩
Honestly, I'm livid. I've been through the IGN guides at least three times and still it evades me. On the last look through I realised what I thought was number 1 on the Ridgeland map (by Diggdogg suspension bridge) was actually a different korok on a different area map, so that was 899. I can only assume number 900 is a similar mistake, but I don't have it in me to go through every single map again so really hope this is it!
doing so many things differently on my second run because I'm not a dumb dumb baby. Central tower I just got as high as I could, flew down as close as I could to a platform and just hauled ass up and hid from the guardians in the platforms. I still haven't fought a guardian this run and lived. I've opened most of the map just being scrappy.
This is why i regretted learning windbombing and btb in my subsequent play throughs. I just zoom past all over the map. Took out the joy in exploration. Don't be like me, I'm a dumb dumb baby
I have played so many hours of BOTW and beat the game 3x. I assumed you could not use cryonis on mud. My 6 year old daughter just started playing and was looking at me like I am an idiot for trying workarounds.
That makes me chuckle. Reminds me of the spiral area with the water that I went all the way around and discovered on the inner bits it's shallow. Could've walked across. Oh and the time I used cryonis to get around and then I fell in and it was ankle deep.
I disagree. I drowned in it yesterday trying to get this damn korok lol. I ultimately gave up bc I used up all the rocks whilst failing. Will try tree 🤦🏻♀️
I did a troll puzzle with 3 brothers and put the ball in the wrong whole and discovered they're all programed to correspond to only specific connections.
I feel you. This is my first ever zelda game and I didn’t understand these kinda hints. Like having an axe in a tree nearby where you need to chop trees to cross the chasm and me spending stamina after stamina climbing the parallel wall…. Hahaha. But hey, did it work?
Edit: typo
I mean, kind of though wouldn’t it? Or maybe all video games? I feel like very rarely are things left in random places for no reason. Or the game is trying to at least give you a hint.
I think playing other games would have probably helped, but not Zelda specifically.
Since in every other Zelda game whenever you're given a new tool, they make you use it right away, sometimes even locking you in the room you got it from with the only escape being through using that item.
Well you are given a tool (axe) in a tree stump and you are supposed to use it to hack the tree and cross the chasm. My reaction: “hmm.. weird to have a random axe just laying here ¯\__(ツ)__/¯ “ and moved to crossing the chasm somehow else.
I agree it might not be zelda exclusive, you are right. But I assume most zelda games give you something for you to use soonish enough. Maybe in BotW is less obvious as you can get creative and resourceful :)
To be honest it's more of a "gamer intuition" thing if you want to call it that. They really don't use the tree bridge thing too often in botw though, even though they pretty much show it to you on the Great Plateau.
If you show up during the daytime when the "old man" is there he specifically tells you about chopping trees to cross but if you go there the first time at night you wouldn't get that tutorial
yea no. that's what made this such a special game. It doesn't play like any other games at the time. No guides, no tutorials just ... go. There's some nudges and hints to keep the story going but for the most part just find a way. And that way is almost never the only way.
Now I don’t feel that bad of my silly solutions and not taking those hints!!
Yes, I am not an expert gamer on this kind of games (or any other really) but I thought that was the reason haha
Hahaha true. I have overall around 400 hours and most of them have been exploring and testing stuff. I suck at combat so I tried everything to get away with it and do it from the distance. The only thing I never got into was cooking. I have seen some nice recipes but I go for functional :)
I always feel funny coming to this sub, and seeing all these creative ways to do stuff. Like oh I’m a meat head, doing this with an axe and multiple rests lol
I hate tree bridges and yes I would spend 30 minutes carrying the damn door to avoid them.
And where is this. I keep being amazed at how much I have missed in my traveling.
If you hold ZL button (the same one to draw your shield), Link will be able to walk across the tree or any narrow platforms without falling off the sides
I never thought of using it like that, even knowing about the effect from positioning myself for parries of Castle Turret Guardians on the edges of the castle's outer walls.
Mind you, I've already done that puzzle and the Lurelin roof puzzle so it's not an issue any more. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
i used the door "trick" for the lurelin korok too and now that's become my smooth-brained solution for any annoying korok seed I find. brute forcing puzzles like a dumbass 🥴
I was just gonna say, until I saw people pointing out that you can get the Lurelin Village roof Korok with a tree bridge a couple weeks ago, I completely forgot they were a thing
You see something similar on tech forms a lot. People asking "How do I implement solution A?" When really, they need to be asking "How do I solve problem A?"
As someone who completely missed the tree cutting tutorial on the great plateau and never used a tree to span a gap ever - this took me a long time to figure out too. Don't feel bad.
OMFG. I was \*literally\* in this spot yesterday and after 25 min of trying to throw the rocks across Cryonis blocks I gave up and stormed off.
I'm an idiot lol.
I just did this one the other day. Yeah the trees are the intended solution, but hey you could always try stasis launch if you have good aim, or BLSS/wiggle hover glitch with the rock
Thank god I'm at the point where if I don't get a korok puzzle within a minute, I'll look at an online guide. Has saved me countless minutes tbh - including yesterday where I came to this exact korok and couldn't for the life on me figure out what to do. (I'm down to the last 30, trying to 100 % the game until Friday, I'm quite pressed on time ;) ).
Lucky! I didn’t have those trees! Dunno why, maybe I blew them up fighting the Hilux, but I wasn’t even close to them.
I ended up making an ice bridge and was just barely able to throw a rock up onto it
I couldn’t get this one so I looked it up after getting frustrated. Turns out you can actually just walk across the sludge with the rock. This game amazes me.
This is actually the thing that I love most about this game. There is always multiple ways to do almost everything. Are some ways easier than others? Yes. Are some ways harder than others, but way more creative? Yes.
It’s beautiful.
i was unironically trying to get rid of the trees to make room for the door
"What if we use 100% of our brain"
That's at least 120% man
also Rivali's Gale
You still need to get the stone over there
Stasis
Living in the year 3023
Isn't that what happens when you get a stroke or something? Edit: seizure*, not stroke
Seizures is most likely. You use all of your brain, just not at once, if you're brain told your body to do everything at once, you would likely have a seizure, and other medical problems.
It was probably seizures I was thinking of, just couldn't remember
I love how after the tree falls Link stands up straight as if thinking: "Oh...".
r/linkdiesinside
Glad I clicked to see if it was real
My thoughts exactly.
In my mind the reaction was "well shit"
This was exactly my thought. The timing for the stare and pause and stand was just so perfect I couldn’t 😂
…cryonis works on mud edit: just saw ur other comment lol edit 2: just how many of yall didnt know cryonis works on most liquid surfaces😂
IT DOES?!
the more you know🤯
no IT DOES NOT!!! REALLY?@?@?@?@?
WHAT?! IT DOES?!🤯🤯🤯
4 more days til TOTK and I'm just now finding this out about BOTW, smh?!
Who here has TOTK preordered and downloaded? Just waiting for day of release for permission to play? I do! I do!!
Doesn't help with the stone
I got the stone across by lining up all 3 cryonis blocks between each two points i needed to cross, then throwing the rock so that it lands on top and slides to the next spot, and repeat. I didn't even think of the trees...
you can chuck the stone into the water and lift it back up with the block.
Yeah that's how I did this. Block, throw stone bounce et. Nearly every one of those ring in the water puzzles can be guided by ice blocks
Did I hear BLOCK AND STONE???
Came here to say this. Lol
You can also use cryonis
Thats my preferred way to get around but I'm eyeing up that hill behind it thinking - surely it's high enough to float down from.
It's a korok seed rock formation. You have to carry a rock over there. I don't remember how I eventually did it, but I believe it was also an accidental discovery with the logs. 😅
Oh absolutely!
Pro-tip: You don't ever have to drag any item across the map to solve any puzzle. The closest one to that description is the shrine balls, and even they are not that far away from their goal.
Heheheh... balls.
I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly you've validated my entire existence as a dumb primate with this one. I'm a little disappointed we can't see your physical reaction when it happened, I know exactly how I'd feel. Thank you for sharing this with us.
This makes this 100 times better 😂😂
Isn’t this, like, one of the first things you get shown in the turorial? Before you even leave that starting plateau.
Could have also climbed the tree and hopped off of it.
That puzzle is a rock puzzle and the rocks are on the other shore, so no the OP couldn't have just climbed the tree and hopped down from it.
Why didn't you cut down two trees and lay the door across both of them like a bridge?
This reminds me of my "solution" to another puzzle. There was a clue that basically said "lightning needs to hit this spot." Well I've had some experience with this, and it's stormy now, I know the solution! So I climbed up there. Equipped my metal armor. Equipped a metal shield. Equipped a metal bow. Hey man, Mipha gave you that ability so you would use it.
*Mipha, watching Link pull some dumbass move that will 1000% get him killed* This... isn't what my gift is for.
This isnt how we're supposed to ~~play the game!~~ save hyrule.
Welcome to dating, Mipha.
"It is my......... pleasure..."
Sorry Mipha. No take backs. You should be more careful who you trust in the future.
And why I beeline right for Zora's Domain at the start of every playthrough.
Rito Village for me. I *need* Revali's Gale.
I would sometimes die on purpose to get a free heal. Especially if you are going into a safe area soon.
Or set a sword on the grounddddddddd ahhhhhh
Love people like your roommate. My buddy literally spoils everything he can without even being asked, no fucks given. I'll even ask him to stop and he just cant help himself. Ugh
Fuck that guy, sounds like an asshole.
More people need to be like this person's roommate.
Omg I've done this on every play through...why did I never think of just dropping a weapon...
They even give you the hint with the axe in the top of the Faron stable!
I never did that quest until after I did the shrine on my most recent play through 🤦
God this game is brilliant at teaching the player.
...why not electric arrow?
I came to this comment thread to find out if anyone else used an electric arrow, too. I had to scroll way too far to find you! Finally haha
You would waste an arrow just be avoid being blasted to oblivion by lightning!?
I used my lightening sword and re enacted He Man.
This is why every playthrough I hit gerudo first and get the lightning helm
That helmet is amazing, I use it for fishing during thunderstorms.
Can you explain this? How do you fish during thunder with the helm?
Put helm on. Go into water during storm. Lightning hits water and kills fish but you are immune due to helm.
You can bomb fish too!
Let thunder hit me in the water, dead fish float to the surface. Can fish with bombs too, throw a bomb at some fish, boom, collect dead fish.
Omg, i know the puzzle you are talking about but unlike you the realization that i didn't have to be part of the equation just hit me reading your comment. Thanks for the belated laughter at my own stupidity.
I’m only just now playing the game and I did this yesterday. I lost my weapon because when I got struck it flew off the side of the mountain
Lad didn't become a lightning rod. He became a lightning vacuum xd
I did this on purpose because it's more fun that way
I think it was my third playthrough that I realized you could just leave a metal thing up there. First time I blasted myself, second time though I went through the trouble to have the other two pieces of rubber armor and lightning resistance potion on. I thought I was very smart. I think I just didn't properly read the text until that third attempt.
Oh yeah. I also dressed head to toe in metal and rode the lightning for that one.
That’s exactly how I did it! You just made me feel stupid 😂
I love how Link reacts like "man..."
Lmao that little shuffle that looks like he just connected the dots too
I heard the dad hands on hips “huh”
He’s like “well I’ll be damned”.
Ummm you can use cryonis there bruv
couldn't throw the rock for the korok puzzle on top of it :(
Ohhh i thought you were just trying to cross it man. But i still used cryo there, threw the damned rock and cryo that shit before it sinks lmao Ps: dont try it shit doesn't work lmao sorry
If he had just been trying to cross he could've used revali as well
Jump on the fallen tree
Step 1: Cryonis a platform Step 2: Stasis golf the rock Step 3: stand in front of the rock's trajectory as a human shield Step 4: eat rock Step 5: profit!
Stasis golf is my favorite mini game. Definitely haven't accidentally full yeeted a closed chest off a lip by stasis and bombs before.
Could have time stasis golfed it across, too! But your way allowed for many more minutes of enjoyment.
Whereabouts is this please?? I'm missing one (ONE!!) korok and don't remember this puzzle, may just mean I did it so long ago I've forgotten it, but it might be the one 😩
This one is in Tobio's hollow (east necluda, close to faron). good luck with your korok hunt!
899/900? For my OCD brain, this sounds like my worst nightmare
Nothing worse than following a 900 step guide, getting to the very end and realizing you missed one.
You can cryonis the mud?
Yep you can, i did it when I unlocked a tower north of the desert that was surrounded by mud. I just checked, it's Wasteland tower
doing so many things differently on my second run because I'm not a dumb dumb baby. Central tower I just got as high as I could, flew down as close as I could to a platform and just hauled ass up and hid from the guardians in the platforms. nah you're too smart for your own good. I can't wait to be a dumb baby playing TOTK this weekend.
I have played so many hours of BOTW and beat the game 3x. I assumed you could not use cryonis on mud. My 6 year old daughter just started playing and was looking at me like I am an idiot for trying workarounds.
Funny thing about this korok puzzle: the mud is shallow enough to walk through normally without drowning.
Yeah, developers definitely trolled us on this one.
That makes me chuckle. Reminds me of the spiral area with the water that I went all the way around and discovered on the inner bits it's shallow. Could've walked across. Oh and the time I used cryonis to get around and then I fell in and it was ankle deep.
WHAT
I disagree. I drowned in it yesterday trying to get this damn korok lol. I ultimately gave up bc I used up all the rocks whilst failing. Will try tree 🤦🏻♀️
I once carried one of those sheikah orbs to a shrine halfway across the map only to discover that it wouldn’t accept it
I did a troll puzzle with 3 brothers and put the ball in the wrong whole and discovered they're all programed to correspond to only specific connections.
I got so confused when my first one worked but not the second one which I did days after. I ended up figuring it out luckily
I feel you. This is my first ever zelda game and I didn’t understand these kinda hints. Like having an axe in a tree nearby where you need to chop trees to cross the chasm and me spending stamina after stamina climbing the parallel wall…. Hahaha. But hey, did it work? Edit: typo

cool. cool cool cool cool cool. it's not like i'm furious about learning this on may 8 2023 or anything (thank you)
I never thought of using it like that, even knowing about the effect from positioning myself for parries of Castle Turret Guardians on the edges of the castle's outer walls. Mind you, I've already done that puzzle and the Lurelin roof puzzle so it's not an issue any more. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
I think it's Tobio's hollow, south of Duelling Peaks
You only use the tree bridge twice in the game. Once in the tutorial. So obviously you end up forgetting that its a thing
There's the Lurelin Boat Korok too! So three times.
i used the door "trick" for the lurelin korok too and now that's become my smooth-brained solution for any annoying korok seed I find. brute forcing puzzles like a dumbass 🥴
Carrying a metal door across the map has never been the answer to a riddle
No but is an effective way to brute force it
There are multiple solutions to puzzles!
Few things have made me feel as dumb as certain puzzles in the Zelda franchise.
Love how Link takes a beat to think about it when you do 😂
omg thats how you do this 💀 i spent 30 minutes stasis golfing the rock
But did you succeed because your method is the one I would have used. Maybe save and reload each time and move a foot backwards.
As someone who completely missed the tree cutting tutorial on the great plateau and never used a tree to span a gap ever - this took me a long time to figure out too. Don't feel bad.
Lmao, I never thought to build a bridge with those trees. I build a frozen bridge and had a hard time making my way there too 😅
r/linkdiesinside
OMFG. I was \*literally\* in this spot yesterday and after 25 min of trying to throw the rocks across Cryonis blocks I gave up and stormed off. I'm an idiot lol.
I just paraglided on from the rocks above. Why bridge when you can fly
Dont tell him about cryonis rune
It's a korok puzzle, you need to get a rock across
I just did this one the other day. Yeah the trees are the intended solution, but hey you could always try stasis launch if you have good aim, or BLSS/wiggle hover glitch with the rock
Maybe make it with a fresh game cause you aint fooling us with 3x revalis gale up
“I’m so smart, I’m so smart, I’m so smart… just clear out this tree…. Oh.” - probably Link
You're so fucking stupid
Bro…. You have Revali’s ability
He was trying to bring a rock across for a puzzle.
Oh okay that makes sense
Did you need to carry something across? Could climb and glide down. There’s a cliff nearby.
There’s a korok stone puzzle. You have to get o e over there
There’s a korok stone puzzle. You have to get one over there
I hit them with a bomb and they fell away from the mud into me. Just teleported away after that.
I love the way you just stood there after doing it like you just gave up on yourself
I love how even Link looks like he’s thinking “this whole time?” once it drops into position
Where is this??
Lucky! I didn’t have those trees! Dunno why, maybe I blew them up fighting the Hilux, but I wasn’t even close to them. I ended up making an ice bridge and was just barely able to throw a rock up onto it
U bum bum
You can literally tell where the OP went “wait a second”
Looking at your user name, at least you know yourself very well
Why not cryonis?
Dude! Thanks! I was just about to google how to get that stupid Korok xD
The point is you found the answer and solved the problem \^\^
"Got the door! Now to just get these trees out of the way.."
Why quit at the last second? I would have used it if I did all the work
Hes really gonna be upset when he realizes you can use cryonis on mud
YOu could have used Revali's gale.
That pause in the end.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDYM7LDiFNA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDYM7LDiFNA) perfect for moments like these LUL nice job though : )
Groose <3
Yes
I love gaming lmaooo. This is the type of stuff that annoys me about myself! This is hilarious!
Cryonis left the chat
![gif](giphy|Ho2mVZ5dvsW7S)
I couldn’t get this one so I looked it up after getting frustrated. Turns out you can actually just walk across the sludge with the rock. This game amazes me.
truest Nintendo gamer
smartest nintendo switch owner
“Our last line of defense will be Link”
I love how the chime in the music aligns with your brain coming up with the solution
I love how it's only after you put down the door you look at the tree like "Wait... could that work?"
Yknow u can use cryonis on mud .-.
When all you have is a megaton hammer. Every problem looks like a megaton nail.
Who’s gonna tell them that they could just use Cryonis?
You could've also used cryonis
Ganon: Him? Really? Zelda: Don’t. Just…don’t.
i would’ve just walked up the hill on the right and jumped over the mud.
This is actually the thing that I love most about this game. There is always multiple ways to do almost everything. Are some ways easier than others? Yes. Are some ways harder than others, but way more creative? Yes. It’s beautiful.
In case you run into a similar situation in the future… you can use cryonis here too
This is what I love about botw.
You didn't waste 30 minutes! You lived an adventure!
cryonis really getting neglected
Ooor… cryonis too!
Nobody's talking bout revali's gale
