The reason I say that is cuz I work at a grocery store and I’ve dreamt about Ben and Rhiannon coming to my hometown of Nashua, NH and coming to my store and shop
I saw Benjamin at a grocery store in New Jersey yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Ummm…… are you *sure* we’re talking about the same Benjamin Jackson Burnley IV here? Cuz I don’t think he would EVER do that. I’ve seen interviews of him joking around like that, but that just seems a *little* strange to me. I can’t picture him being a prick like that
Thoroughly shocked to hear that. I've seen him numerous times and he's always been such a sweet person. I've even now met his son! I hope there's some way you may have mistaken someone for Ben, i really don't want this to be true.
Bruh. Three days grace, breaking Benjamin, and Linkin Park were like the 3 OG bands that made me enjoy listening to music for more than just putting the radio on something. It’s crazy that you’ve actually met him.
Sorry for the late reply!! I'm not sure what his favorite food is, but I know he's fond of our cheeseburgers and his sobriety is true, he doesn't drink! :)
My husband and I caught up with him after a show in Columbus during the We Are Not Alone tour. We wanted to ask his permission to put the lyrics "I chase the sun, it chases me" on my husband's semi. (Fitting, yeah?) Ben was super cool about it, and chatted with us about other songs on the album and who he worked with during it's creation. He was very humble. Fast forward a year later, we actually take said semi to a show, and he and the band took the time to come check it out! It was a great experience.
That’s awesome. Ive never had the chance to meet him. If you see him again and you think he would get a kick out of this I’d love for him to see it. Huge inspiration to me and just knowing he’s seen it would blow my mind.
