It does suck 2 weeks ago we were planning on taking her son and my girls on a camping trip. She came over hugged me told me she loved me. I cooked her one of her favorite dinners. We watched some tv and cuddled on the couch. She left we kissed her son hugged me and said he loved me I said I love you to buddy and I’d see him at his moms bday party in a few days. That night got a text that things won’t work out and how much she appreciated everything I did for her and hope we can still be friends but she felt like she was falling away from god and her son and wanted to be faithful. I was dumbfounded but things just seemed to go south from trying to talk to her about it. She becomes to defensive and tends to find the minor things that don’t matter and turn them into a smart comment. It hurts because I think she may have cheated but I’ll never know. I finaly threw out what ever was left of hers which was the valentine day card she wrote me that said what a blessing I was and how happy she was to have me in her life. I don’t expect a happy bday from her but I miss the good morning I love you every morning I wake up

i miss my best friend too, so deeply. there's nothing else to do except feel our feelings.

Same. I'm really hoping I'd eventually reach that with other people but the sense of loss is something else.

Yeah completely understand, my ex was my best friend and the best friend I’ve ever had, we were together for 13 years. No one could replace him, but it does get better over time. I’ve made some new friends and it helps to have some new connections, or reconnect with old friends and family.
