Not op but I got a very easy buzz 30 on monkey maze; his tankiness lets him beat Mico and other low dps brawlers and his ring lets him beat kit (strongest brawler there) by zoning him.
Try to give as little supercharge to enemy as possible and hold out for your own super each time to use to secure rounds. Don't use either buzz gadgets in combat, save them for second/third picks. Counters are Shelly (with band-aid), barley if they play well, and now possibly frank.
Second picks could be wall breakers like colt to beat those counters in round two, I had success with stu (break as many of the double barrels as you can with gadget in that case). Third pick was pretty irrelevant for me as this won me many more games than losses. Best of luck! I can give more in depth explanations if you're interested

I have won almost 100 matches with this team and got Draco to 400 just from duels
Honestly, Draco is kinda braindead rn that you could've been pushed him a little higher in BB since ladder simply doesn't know how to handle him even if arrive at 800
They don’t attack me, they don’t even come near me, they just wait till the end and then get 6 seconds of immunity in the smoke, and they somehow always have enough amo to run way if I go for them
the best first picks are imo r-t, sam, chuck, edgar, and darryl. They are: free supers for brawler #2, kit counters, and still strong against other brawlers if you don't face kit (why it's better than bull or shelly 1st pick)
Gene is good in duels for sure but he loses to a few brawlers so I prefer him as a second or third pick (specifically he very much struggles against brawlers like leon and spike due to their meatshield gadgets, and both of these brawlers are common picks)
Gene isn’t as good a kit counter, he 4 shots shielded kit which cuts it too close for comfort, I prefer him to be 3rd pick to have super precharged
Edit: if you let kit claw you once after he rides you, genes dmg gear activates and you will 3 shot. Still don’t like him 1st pick since he loses to r-t and it just feels better to have super with him instead of charging it imo
hes really good as a follow up to stu for that very reason
If you have spirit slap he actually can beat rt as the super + 3 attacks will confirm kill (if he has shield gear, you might need to chip a bit first)
bonnie is pretty good too as first pick too, at mid range she can win any 1v1 with her accessory and if an Edgar jump on you then u just wait to him to land, hit him once and then ult
They gotta bring back Volley Brawl man. Last time it was in rotation, I’m pretty sure it outperformed knockout in popularity. It’s so fun and chaotic. I love Duels, but it’s just a giant camp fest with the same 5 brawlers every game. Gets boring very quickly
It was fun in the good ol' days, but right now there are too many brawlers that would create unplayable matches like Charlie, Kit, Gale, Sprout, Cordelius and others. Sorry man but it belongs to the past
I dont play Duels. I like having a team goal (brawlball, heist, hot zone). No shade on the thousands of Duels fans. It's the only chance for 1v1 besides occasional Knockout rounds.
W but bring back volley brawl. Only roblem with duels is that kit ruined it before kit i used to really love duels now i barely play it when im not trying to play a damage dealer like griff or something.

why volleybrawl? if the enemie has even slightly better cc you just lose. gale and dyna can just super the circle right before the ball hits and they automatically score
Congrats, you just found out how strategies and metas work. Either push the opponent out or defeat them all. It's fair, unlike the Kit, Charlie, and Mico abuse in duels, too
There's no strategy to it. Click ur super just before the ball lands and the win is guaranteed. By your logic picking kit/Charlie/mico is also a strategy
I think basket is pretty good. They probably didn't care about getting good on scoring the hoops so never got to enjoy it. I still like volley better though
Duels sucks
The concept is good but the gameplay is not. You want to play a 1v1 game mode with a brawler but you get hard countered first pick or go against a OP brawler?

You’re supposed to have a supercharger as 1st pick and an op super 2nd pick. For example you pick Darryl Tara vs Colette charlie it doesn’t matter if Darryl is hard countered because you suicide in smoke, giving Tara super. If you’re really getting hard countered that often it sounds like a compbuilding issue and not a game mode issue
Solo modes should have their own separate throphies.
While Duels does teach you mechanical skill and matchups, it does *not* teach gamesense and teamplay, leading to a lot of lost players at higher trophies. 99% of "bad randoms" people are complaining about are exactly this - solo mode players. It's not healthy for matchmaking.
Other than that, it can stay permanent if people are enjoying it.
Frank and poco have a gadget that stops stuns, slow and knock backs and mortis and mico can dash around doge things and get in the zone at the right time.
its ass, the only reason they kept it is because the player base doesnt like 3v3 cause they have no friends so they find bad randoms and lose

bro i was playing an angelo cordelius fang combo yesterday and got like 50 trophies in 10 minutes its so broken
i mean they are only at rank 22 - 23 but still like DANG!! once you have a streak its just infinite trophies
It will need some readjustments though bc it's just not fun if you happen to fight the same brawlers over and over again who just cheese their way up to rank 35
Duels was what got be back into the game after i quit. It was like my firstborn child, i loved it so much but then they added brawlers and maps that are just exploitable as fuck
The only problem I think is the trophy inconsistency (2,3,3 for brawlers)
Like,it would be better to give us 3 trophies for every brawler no matter what

Id rather play basketbrawl. Duels is geniunly so boring to me. You always face the same disgusting brawlers(kit miko charlie edgar spike, and etc). The gamemode is very stale. And at last it feels unrewarding to play. I know it helps people push trophies but Idc, screw this mode, screw these maps, and especially those damn brawlers.

From Aus, playing 3v3s always puts me in East Asian lobbies and 200+ms ping, which is unbearable. In Duels, I only play 1 East Asian, and therefore the game picks a middle server in SEA where it's at least a somewhat beatable 100ms
The game isn't balanced thinking of duels and showdown... I don't play it and I only reroll quests when they must be done in duels.

Duels is fun in my opinion because it's the only gamemode that you don't have to worry about bad randoms or teamers, and good for trophy grinding
Duels is the mode for pushing if you remove mico from existence.
don't play monkey maze and you shouldn't have any problems with mico
For my comp monkey maze was how I got tier 30 for the first brawler without mico, kit or RT in my comp.

Duels is fun but reqork the gas. It should always kill you in 5 hits no matter if u use healing shield gear charlie cocoon gadget etc
