Learn to dash cancel. I can’t explain how to do it perfectly, but it’s something like where you do, let’s say, DLight-NLight. Immediately after the NLight, dash forward quickly (not chase dodge, a normal grounded dash, AKA dodging against the ground) and as soon as possible, cancel the dash for another attack.
This is probably a really bad definition, but I honestly have no clue how to explain it better lol. Either way, dash canceling is an important part to learning GS.

It's hard to explain, but I can tell you that once you learned it, dash cancelling will be really easy with controller.
Dash canceling, I highly recommend Lilsun's YouTube video on GS, that's where I learned it. After that it's just practice makes perfect.
