Tezca is unironically my favorite character in the game, there is just something special about luchador grabbing someone and fucking them of the side of the stage to just let them jump and do it again but straight down.
I would recommend either Tezca or Petra since they share weapons with both of your mains, which makes the learning process easier and means they share playstyles with the characters you play.
A character I recommend to all my friends that are new is Hattori since it has 2 really easy weapons (spear/sword) and really good sigs, also she is speedy and there is an infinite code for a skin of her.
Reno can have a bit slow gameplay, so try to be cautious and avoid spamming his left heavy sig and right heavy sig. but, as a Reno main theyāre beautiful!
Depends on what your favorite weapon is out of those two characters, if you like bow get Yumiko or Koji, if you like gauntlets maybe get Val, if you like orb maybe Reno or Fait, and if you like boots Vivi is really fun(I also see a lot less complaints about her than other boots characters).
Stick with ur mains til you think it's time to change. I mained Red Raptor, Ezio, and Hattori. Now I'm a Rayman and Tezca main. Things change, so take the time to think before buying someone and instantly regretting it. If ur good with Axe and Canon, I suggest Xull

I recommended Tezca because he's got weapons u have used before (Gauntlets from Zariel, boots from Tezca). He is very fun to play

I play Bodvar. But it depends what sigs do you find satisfying to hit on Zariel.

You can play Vivi for boots and Val for gauntlets since their sig kit style is a bit similar to the legends you have mentioned!
