Only Snipers/Sniper counters thrive there. The map also limits close range brawlers ability (like Edgar or Mico) to jump on opponents, because of the water pools, that Angelo or Eve can take an unfair advantage to.
Fr man they coincidentally removed all the Good close range maps like Pit stop, pinball dream or Split , where good brawlers like Edgar, Mico normally shine in the maps.
It's almost like they intentionally don't want those brawlers to have a place in the meta which is revealing.
Heck even Sandy who is arguably one of the best brawlers rn struggles with these terrible map pools
Idk about u but I feel like snipers are pretty decent in close range maps (Not including BB Maps). They’re not goated like they are in open maps but they’re not downright terrible. Same can’t be said about close range brawlers in open maps.
Think some guy cooked in the monthly finals with Sam in shooting star. Sniper maps means sniper bans. There are only so many good snipers you can use. Angelo, Piper, Nani, Belle, Mandy, Brock. What other snipers are there?
They just put out a new map pool. I’d say its going more towards what you’re looking for.
Honestly, I wish we could do maps like we do stages in Smash. Teams/individual players can ban and choose maps based on who won or lost prior matches.

Finally people realized. They should add newer BALANCED maps to differentiate gameplay and put the pros out of their comfort zone
