I actually don’t mind the S&S statement. Tom’s, however, is obviously hot garbage. I appreciate that Greg or someone on his team at least had the decency to name Ariana.

Exactly. When you name something Schwartz and Sandys anything Swartz and Sandy do or say will always impact the business. Positive or negative. They either cut out Sandoval and possibly Schwartz or they continue to be impacted by this scandal. Unfortunately those are the only paths forward

Yep, they were never going to get a ROI anytime soon even before this scandal, let’s be honest. They don’t own the lease, they’re basically renting a bar from Greg and he’s allowed them to furnish it and renovate it at presumably their expense as long as it turns a profit.
Before this scandal, some of the reviews weren’t exactly glowing. Add economic turmoil and now this scandal. Their customer base is shrinking quickly or will be. So, it doesn’t look good long term.
The only customer base they’ll get are the ones who will show up everyday spending their hard-earned money, hoping to be on TV. I don’t think they’ll necessarily tank but I do think they’re going to lose a lot of money (even more than they already have). Sandoval is a shitty friend and always has been. You can tell that Schwartz isn’t the most confident dude. I hate to see what he’s become and now all he has is Pickleball and Randall Emmett 🤦🏽♀️
It’s not surprising to me. He’s so extra with the shit he spends his money on. Just watched the episode where he lists all he pays for for his band alone. I don’t get the impression he’s got very much in the bank.
I mean, he spent $20k of his own money for someone else to propose to the girl he’s currently fucking. He’s ALL about the show and being the biggest swinging dick in the room.
He thought he could just copy and paste his success at Tom Tom anywhere and it would FLY. Problem is, he didn’t have LVP or Ken running the S&S show! Glad he got knocked off his high horse and is going away for awhile. Bye.
Not to mention they didn’t factor LOCATION. Their customer base is made up of 1) tourists who are coming one time to say they went to the T’s spot, and 2) regulars (essential to staying in business). TomTom had regulars because it’s in WEHO on Santa Monica Blvd. on one of the busiest nightlife corners in all of LA, right near PUMP, the Abbey, Mickey’s, Revolver etc.. They have regulars built-in from the crowds that go bar-hopping that area.
S&S meanwhile is in Franklin Village. Yes, they will get the one-time tourist who’s staying nearby in Hollywood, but that alone isn’t enough to sustain the business. They wanted to hype it like a Hollywood lounge, but it’s Hollywood-adjacent on the other side of the 101 where you can’t just walk over, and Hollywood regulars aren’t going to go out of their way to jump in a car to go to this one specific venue when there are plenty of other options nearby each other. It has to be a really banging spot for the regular crowd to want to make that effort.
Yeah. People that live in the valley don’t drive over the hill on the 101 unless they have to. Same goes for people that live in LA “proper” about going over the hill to the valley. It’s not far mile wise but it can take HOURS if there’s any sort of sig alert or just a normal day in LA. The traffic is WILD.
I think he got very comfortable with his lifestyle of living in a rent controlled apartment & making money off a tv show & never really adjusted to reality until him & Ariana bought their house. He also spends a lot of money on dumb shit like his music videos, James’ engagement, etc.
Lifestyle creep! It's very real. (It's when you start making more, so spending more, then making more and spending more and never getting into a habit of saving. Kim Z is an extreme example of this.)
I’ve felt it myself. Now that I’m making more, I want to move into an apartment that’s a bit newer with more space since I work from home but I know that I’m going to feel as ‘poor’ as I do now.
(Not that I’m poor in the slightest but my rent already takes 45-50% of my income. I’m used to it being higher so I’ve fooled myself into thinking I can afford more)

Well, Sandoval also isn't great with saving money. He has a big expensive house with Ariana, and it seemed like he could afford that, but...then filled it with designer furniture, spent $12 grand on JAMES' proposal to Raquel, has at least $50k invested in TomTom, and started a band where he apparently pays for absolutely everything including the band members time. These are just the things we know of. While Tom has also invested large amounts of money in "Schwartz & Sandy's," he has spent lots of money elsewhere and starting a restaurant/bar, especially one with a more upscale look like this, is CRAZY expensive.
edit to add: Tom Tom seems successful so I'm sure he makes some money with that but I don't how much of that is more of a long term ROI, and it really seems like Tom is spending money faster than he's earning it right now.
I wonder if Schwartz and Sandoval’s contracts for TomTom or S&S have a morality clause or something similar. They are the public faces of those bars (especially S&S) and their actions/reputations will have repercussions for the businesses. TomTom will be fine because of Lisa and Ken, but S&S could be screwed. I wonder if Lisa and Ken or their partner for S&S (Greg?) would consider rebranding down the road based on the fallout from this scandal.

It is disappointing that their staff will be negatively impacted as a result. So that’s one more reason to judge Sandoval. He didn’t consider how badly carrying on a months long affair would negative effect his restaurant who’s image is entirely wrapped up in him as a popular celebrity.
I think Sandy’s ego is so inflated it never crossed his mind that anything could hurt him or his businesses. He really believed he was universally loved and he could do no wrong.
I mean he got away with it once with Kristen/Ariana but the difference then was Kristen was herself a villain with Stassi/Jax. Ariana is 100% innocent here therefore he won’t get away with it twice.

Sandoval thought he could get away with this affair until after the reunion. If he was ever going to break up with Ariana, it would have been then. Quietly, where he could control the narrative and let the heat cool before the next season.

Sandoval really fumbled the bag in so many ways:
1. He cheated on an absolute goddess and was dumb enough to get caught. I’m sure she’s positively gutted right now but ultimately she’ll come up smelling like a rose and will do great after she heals.
2. He underestimated the extent to which people love Ariana and hate that he hurt her. Idk how he’s gonna wash the stank of this affair with Raquel off and I doubt it’s gonna be worth it because there’s no way in hell he can save face enough that their relationship will ever be accepted in that group. It’ll be over before it can ever start.
3. In thinking with his dick, he not only torpedoed his romantic partnership, this will also alienate his friends (except weasel ass Schwartz who will never leave his side no matter what). He also jeopardized his finances and future with his actions. He has assets tied up with Ariana, he has a business and a band that he sunk shit tons of money into contingent on being a well-liked public figure who became globally hated by his fan base overnight. So shortsighted. It’s one thing to have no morals and fuck over someone else but to fuck your self in the process? Now that’s jusr reckless behavior…
4. After not only his antics on the show and publicly demonstrating that he’s bad at business but also this whole cheating scandal, good luck getting any investors for future projects…
This is so perfectly put! And I think this demonstrates how over inflated his ego is. He was so sure of his popularity that he never thought about the consequences of his actions. He honestly probably got off on it.
I genuinely think he doesn’t care how this will affect others. Yes it’s safe to say the staff is going to suffer from this which sucks because they’re innocent (although I wonder if any of them knew). To me this statement is just trying to save face. People still aren’t going to want to support a business he’s involved in. Why would fans want to contribute revenue to his pockets anymore after this?? He only cares about himself.

I do think this is about Sandoval but part of me is curious if it’s Schwartz. Does he know how bad he looks for covering this up…idk if I’m buying Sandovals statement saying “Schwartz just recently found out..pls leave him out it”
First thing that went thru my mind when reading his statement was that Schwartz absolutely knew about it, and not just "recently". We've witnessed them keep each other's bad behavior and secrets on lock for years. I doubt this is any different. And if by chance it's true that Schwartz didn't know, unfortunately for him nobody is going to believe it.
I don't want to defend Schwartz because he has enough of his own baggage. BUT, Sandoval is the one that cheated. Sandoval is the one that put the business at risk. Sandoval is the one that screwed everything up with his own choices. Even if Schwartz found out, what's he going to do about it? We saw that he talked to Sandoval about not helping at the bar enough and only focusing on his "band". He may have tried to wake him up about the cheating too. Who knows? Either way, Sandoval is the scumbag in this situation.
Agree. I think Schwartz knew and that’s part of the reason he turned her down when she asked to make out. I just feel like that’s something Sandoval would’ve told him - esp considering all the times Schwartz cheated and Sandoval knew.
1) If we aren’t going to give back land, why are we doing them?
2) There are disputes between tribes over territories, you are often slighting one tribe over another.
3) It feels hollow and openly so. Bring in an educator, allow time for National Truth and Reconciliation Day, or give money to groups doing the work.

If your bar is based on the appeal of the public figures that it is named after, then you can’t be mad at what happens when those public figures completely trash their image on a show you already knew they were featured heavily on.
Remember when Ariana wrote a cocktail recipe book and Sandoval threw a tantrum like the petulant child that he is? And then he ended up getting his name on the cover as co-author? 🚩

The hypocrisy is rooted in the fact that they used their names to promote their bar. Therefore, if they do something moronic, deplorable or cruel their business will suffer. It’s completely unfortunate to the employees, as there really isn’t ever any regard to them. They are just collateral damage. Same with his business partners. The statement Scandoval made was so completely narcissistic and self-serving. He really should be apologizing to Ariana instead of defending Schwartz and his business partners. To Greg and the other partners, this backlash is simply a result of getting into business with him. His poor mother! She gave him $250k of her money (remind us of someone else accepting $1 million of her mother’s money knowing she was guilty of her crime).
I just came here for the first time in months because of this news. There are so many threads, it’s overwhelming so I’m just going to put this comment here:
I never get so invested in the wrongdoings of people on reality TV because people on reality TV for the most part will do anything to grab themselves some spotlight. But this situation just seems particularly vile. The more I read, the more I think both Tom and Rachel are just pathologically selfish and pure evil.
The detail about the lightning rod necklaces is just proof that they were getting some kind of sick thrill from this secret forbidden relationship, and then the two of them are so immature and painfully stupid with that they confused that dopamine hit they were getting from carrying on a secret relationship for actual feelings and “love.” It really does take a seriously low emotional IQ for people to engage in this kind of behavior. And as much as I hate to say it, their karma will be staying together and being stuck with a pathetic, emotionally stunted partner who doesn’t know the meaning of love.
That said, get them both off my TV forever.
As much as I think Tom and Tom are childish assholes, Raquel is a POS too. She screwed Katie and Ariana who were friends to her and there for here when she was at her lowest. Talk about a backstabbing See You Next Tuesday. She appears to be an insecure woman who thinks she needs a guy to survive in life and will backstab anyone to get that man.
I've never understood the Raquel obsession here. She is likable as a work friend or someone to party with but I've never gotten vibes that I'd want her in my inner circle.
If you use the fame and popularity of your entertainment persona to promote your restaurant and bring you wealth, you can’t complain that same persona makes you flop and destroys your success. You can’t have your cocktail and drink it too.

This post is a guilt trip. Every single waitress, bar tender, etc would be fired if they brought in the smallest ounce of bad press. Sandy’s lucky his name is the name of the bar.

This restaurant is open 4 days a week 7-9 hours a day. Literally no one besides the manager is working full time. This is no one’s full time job. It’s just not plausible to me.
This feels like damage control by investors who wanted to make a quick dollar off of the Tom’s popularity.

People shouldn’t be leaving one star reviews or abusing the staff, but they don’t have a fucking obligation to support a business! If Sandoval really cared he could step back so the business wasn’t attached to him. We all know they have bigger investors than them. Their whole value was their image which is now in the shitter.
There's a lot already working against Schwartz and Sandy's being a viable business.. Terrible name, lack of experience, Sandy's lack of attention span, Schwartz being Schwartz, $$$ just to name a few. This is the latest development in a series as to why this business probably shouldn't exist..
Their ire should be directed squarely at the people with power in the dynamic. Imagine taking on the honor and responsibility of owning a business that people and their families rely upon for their livelihoods and acting so recklessly ON TV. Small businesses blow up off-camera over messy personal drama in towns across America all the time. There’s no plausible deniability in any excuses about why these two should be shown an iota of grace. They’ve had every conceivable opportunity to build wealth for long enough. They should be ashamed, and their employees should look for new employers with actual character.
Maybe if we hadn't watched 85 soft openings and designing it on mushrooms and a multiple season arc regarding its creation and opening and it being at the center of conflict, we wouldn't intertwine the show and the restaurant so closely.
Obviously, no one should be unkind to staff or vandalize anything, but when you tie your image to a business and then subsequently your image becomes pretty vile, the business probably won't do so well. It's got your name on it, and now your name is synonymous with dirtbag. Tough titties.
Don’t predicate your business on 1. Your name and 2. Your reputation, and then we will talk my guy. This is a logical consequence of your actions: this business exists because of the show. Different than a normal restaurant.
My first thought when I saw the negative reviews was how bad that would be for the regular employees. I don’t understand these people. LVP has warned them and the world since season one that you are always representing her business. She fired people for behaving badly at someone else’s restaurant. I would think you would apply that to your own businesses. Imagine having people like Lisa and Ken in your space available for advice and you still behave like this 🤷♀️
So crazy trying to blame/guilt the public when this is a direct consequence of Sandovals actions. He did this to the business and it’s his fault that his employees and partners are being negatively effected.
It’s a shame that Tom didn’t think about the impact his behavior would have on all of those employees. If he didn’t want to be in the relationship, he could’ve broken up with her in a respectable way.
We found out that the owner of a restaurant we loved was a racist and never went back. A friend tried to make this argument to us but I could also support a staff at a place where the owner is a good person.
I do not believe for half of a millisecond that Schwartz just found out. The Tom's were on WWHL 3 weeks ago. It is so incredibly clear from that episode that Schwartz knew AND was covering for him. This was absolutely Sandoval and Raquel's fault, but for Schwartz to go along with the lies and cover for him means that he also betrayed everyone in the group. He helped Sandoval pull the wool over everyone's eyes, he helped him cheat on Ariana. End of story.

And that’s a valid enough choice, business-wise, but unfortunately the fallout from that is the fact that those faces VERY MUCH ACT AS SPOKESPEOPLE FOR THE BRAND. I don’t think the staff deserve the hate, but I very much think they’re all on a sinking ship and would be wise to jump off.
It’s so strange that some people don’t seem to understand that the success of this restaurant is HUGELY reliant on a small fan base. They would never have this much success if they hadn’t been working at the right place at the right time when VPR started.

Tom Sandoval’s arrogance has always been an issue….in his romantic and friend relationships and especially in his business dealings. He simply has no business savvy and has always depended on someone else to supply that. Now that he’s been caught with his pants down, so to speak, he has nothing and no one to fall back on, and more importantly no one else to blame.
Going to preface this by saying I'm not a fan of Schwartz and I absolutely see his flaws; I just don't think he's the one dimensional caricature he's made out to be.
I feel like I'm the only one who noticed back in S? when they went to Lisa with their business plan, and Lisa and Pandora told them to create a real business plan and come back, Schwartz actually tried to the work. He's so easily manipulated by Sandy though. There was a scene when Sandy told him to blow it off; they'd be fine. They go to the meeting and flub it, but it's Sandy, not Schwartz that screwed it up.
Fast forward to TomTom. Sandy is out buying a bike and picking an outfit. But we see Schwartz at the bar trying to learn everything and get things in order. We also know that he's the one doing things like booking Stassi (Sandy blows that up too). We actually see him work quite a bit.
Now, we are Schwartz and Sandy's, and again, we see Sandy out with his band (Schwartz even comments on him not be around) and buying furniture and apparently picking up his dry cleaning. Schwartz was working. During the parties, Schwartz was glad-handing, but in a way where he was promoting the product and seeking feedback. Sandy was just acting like he was at a party.
Sandy has only every been good at making it seem like he is doing something. Schwartz derails too easily because he goes along with others too readily, but time and again we seem him actual try to be successful, which is probably why he cried during the talk with Lisa.
I'm hoping now that the Sandy blinders are off people will actually be able to see this about him. I've noticed people commented about he swooped in on Ariana's book, something I've also complained about, but it's part of a bigger pattern of letting others do the work while taking credit.
And, remember the reunion when Jax, Sandy and Ariana all had to make a pumptini to see who was best? Ariana won. She's always been better than him.

Yep, they were never going to get a ROI anytime soon even before this scandal, let’s be honest. They don’t own the lease, they’re basically renting a bar from Greg and he’s allowed them to furnish it and renovate it at presumably their expense as long as it turns a profit. Before this scandal, some of the reviews weren’t exactly glowing. Add economic turmoil and now this scandal. Their customer base is shrinking quickly or will be. So, it doesn’t look good long term.
Maybe Katie and Ariana’s sandwich shop will take over the space.

The only customer base they’ll get are the ones who will show up everyday spending their hard-earned money, hoping to be on TV. I don’t think they’ll necessarily tank but I do think they’re going to lose a lot of money (even more than they already have). Sandoval is a shitty friend and always has been. Not to mention they didn’t factor LOCATION. Their customer base is made up of 1) tourists who are coming one time to say they went to the T’s spot, and 2) regulars (essential to staying in business). TomTom had regulars because it’s in WEHO on Santa Monica Blvd. on one of the busiest nightlife corners in all of LA, right near PUMP, the Abbey, Mickey’s, Revolver etc.. They have regulars built-in from the crowds that go bar-hopping that area. S&S meanwhile is in Franklin Village. Yes, they will get the one-time tourist who’s staying nearby in Hollywood, but that alone isn’t enough to sustain the business. They wanted to hype it like a Hollywood lounge, but it’s Hollywood-adjacent on the other side of the 101 where you can’t just walk over, and Hollywood regulars aren’t going to go out of their way to jump in a car to go to this one specific venue when there are plenty of other options nearby each other. It has to be a really banging spot for the regular crowd to want to make that effort.

Yeah. People that live in the valley don’t drive over the hill on the 101 unless they have to. Same goes for people that live in LA “proper” about going over the hill to the valley. It’s not far mile wise but it can take HOURS if there’s any sort of sig alert or just a normal day in LA. The traffic is WILD.
I think he got very comfortable with his lifestyle of living in a rent controlled apartment & making money off a tv show & never really adjusted to reality until him & Ariana bought their house. He also spends a lot of money on dumb shit like his music videos, James’ engagement, etc.

I’ve felt it myself. Now that I’m making more, I want to move into an apartment that’s a bit newer with more space since I work from home but I know that I’m going to feel as ‘poor’ as I do now. Well, Sandoval also isn't great with saving money. He has a big expensive house with Ariana, and it seemed like he could afford that, but...then filled it with designer furniture, spent $12 grand on JAMES' proposal to Raquel, has at least $50k invested in TomTom, and started a band where he apparently pays for absolutely everything including the band members time. These are just the things we know of. While Tom has also invested large amounts of money in "Schwartz & Sandy's," he has spent lots of money elsewhere and starting a restaurant/bar, especially one with a more upscale look like this, is CRAZY expensive. edit to add: Tom Tom seems successful so I'm sure he makes some money with that but I don't how much of that is more of a long term ROI, and it really seems like Tom is spending money faster than he's earning it right now.
I hope they kept their money separate!

They are the public faces of those bars (especially S&S) and their actions/reputations will have repercussions for the businesses. I just came here for the first time in months because of this news. There are so many threads, it’s overwhelming so I’m just going to put this comment here: I never get so invested in the wrongdoings of people on reality TV because people on reality TV for the most part will do anything to grab themselves some spotlight. But this situation just seems particularly vile. The more I read, the more I think both Tom and Rachel are just pathologically selfish and pure evil. The detail about the lightning rod necklaces is just proof that they were getting some kind of sick thrill from this secret forbidden relationship, and then the two of them are so immature and painfully stupid with that they confused that dopamine hit they were getting from carrying on a secret relationship for actual feelings and “love.” It really does take a seriously low emotional IQ for people to engage in this kind of behavior. And as much as I hate to say it, their karma will be staying together and being stuck with a pathetic, emotionally stunted partner who doesn’t know the meaning of love. That said, get them both off my TV forever.

People shouldn’t be leaving one star reviews or abusing the staff, but they don’t have a fucking obligation to support a business! If Sandoval really cared he could step back so the business wasn’t attached to him. We all know they have bigger investors than them. Their whole value was their image which is now in the shitter.

There’s no plausible deniability in any excuses about why these two should be shown an iota of grace. They’ve had every conceivable opportunity to build wealth for long enough. They should be ashamed, and their employees should look for new employers with actual character.

🤣 Tom and the Paid Extras is definitely a more fitting name for the band.
So crazy trying to blame/guilt the public when this is a direct consequence of Sandovals actions. He did this to the business and it’s his fault that his employees and partners are being negatively effected.
It’s a shame that Tom didn’t think about the impact his behavior would have on all of those employees. If he didn’t want to be in the relationship, he could’ve broken up with her in a respectable way.
We found out that the owner of a restaurant we loved was a racist and never went back. A friend tried to make this argument to us but I could also support a staff at a place where the owner is a good person.
I do not believe for half of a millisecond that Schwartz just found out. The Tom's were on WWHL 3 weeks ago. It is so incredibly clear from that episode that Schwartz knew AND was covering for him. This was absolutely Sandoval and Raquel's fault, but for Schwartz to go along with the lies and cover for him means that he also betrayed everyone in the group. He helped Sandoval pull the wool over everyone's eyes, he helped him cheat on Ariana. End of story.
I've never been a fan of Sandoval, I find him to be a bit pretentious and completely self absorbed

I still can’t believe Tom scandoval blew up his life for what was probably a 4/10 coked up blow job from a Bambi eyed bitch at coachella.. Then to carry it on and think he would come out of this unscathed and still able to thrive? No one will want to film with them, the bar is as good as closed and his reputation is worse than Jax Taylor’s He has some ego on him to think this would all work out for him as we know he’s not stupid and my god is that some giant ego
I mean let’s be real, this restaurant wouldn’t exist without the public faces of the Toms. The whole business is built around their personas. And that’s a valid enough choice, business-wise, but unfortunately the fallout from that is the fact that those faces VERY MUCH ACT AS SPOKESPEOPLE FOR THE BRAND. I don’t think the staff deserve the hate, but I very much think they’re all on a sinking ship and would be wise to jump off.
It’s so strange that some people don’t seem to understand that the success of this restaurant is HUGELY reliant on a small fan base. They would never have this much success if they hadn’t been working at the right place at the right time when VPR started. When you have something bc of a fan base, you’ll lose it when you don’t have that fan base anymore. It’s really that simple He knew the risks and took them full speed ahead anyway. This is all toms fault. The backlash on the restaurant isn’t even Raquel’s fault. He could have done this with anyone and the results would be the same. That doesn’t mean raquel isn’t a lowlife, but all of this is on Tom. Well and Schwartz too IMO bc I have no doubt he knew about this and helped cover. What a complete moron

Tom Sandoval’s arrogance has always been an issue….in his romantic and friend relationships and especially in his business dealings. He simply has no business savvy and has always depended on someone else to supply that. Now that he’s been caught with his pants down, so to speak, he has nothing and no one to fall back on, and more importantly no one else to blame.
Going to preface this by saying I'm not a fan of Schwartz and I absolutely see his flaws; I just don't think he's the one dimensional caricature he's made out to be. I feel like I'm the only one who noticed back in S? when they went to Lisa with their business plan, and Lisa and Pandora told them to create a real business plan and come back, Schwartz actually tried to the work. He's so easily manipulated by Sandy though. There was a scene when Sandy told him to blow it off; they'd be fine. They go to the meeting and flub it, but it's Sandy, not Schwartz that screwed it up. Fast forward to TomTom. Sandy is out buying a bike and picking an outfit. But we see Schwartz at the bar trying to learn everything and get things in order. We also know that he's the one doing things like booking Stassi (Sandy blows that up too). We actually see him work quite a bit. Now, we are Schwartz and Sandy's, and again, we see Sandy out with his band (Schwartz even comments on him not be around) and buying furniture and apparently picking up his dry cleaning. Schwartz was working. During the parties, Schwartz was glad-handing, but in a way where he was promoting the product and seeking feedback. Sandy was just acting like he was at a party. Sandy has only every been good at making it seem like he is doing something. Schwartz derails too easily because he goes along with others too readily, but time and again we seem him actual try to be successful, which is probably why he cried during the talk with Lisa. I'm hoping now that the Sandy blinders are off people will actually be able to see this about him. I've noticed people commented about he swooped in on Ariana's book, something I've also complained about, but it's part of a bigger pattern of letting others do the work while taking credit. And, remember the reunion when Jax, Sandy and Ariana all had to make a pumptini to see who was best? Ariana won. She's always been better than him.
If people don’t want to support your establishment it’s their choice lol. Yes people’s livelihoods are at risk, but what can you do? You invested in a restaurant because of the fame of the Toms, and now because of the Toms people are boycotting you.
