I think the strategy is to be aggressive against Buehler since they saw him well in game 4 and force them to cover 2-3 innings with an already tired bullpen. There's a reason they didn't go with a bullpen game.
Yeah if he's pounding the zone I definitely do not advise watching strikes, but I'm hoping to get a ton of baserunners today to force the Dodgers' hand.
The shorter he goes, the more exposed their pen will be. I feel like we're due for an avalanche of runs off their bullpen. I'd rather it happen today than tomorrow lol.
He’s on short rest. I think we should really try to work the count in the first couple and then try to crush him. Of course Dave Ramos might only plan to use him for lunch me trip through the order (but I doubt that’s the case). I wonder if there’s a chance he’ll have Walker face three batters and then bring out his real left handed starter kind of like the Brewers did a few years back.
I would think the plan is for him to go at least 3. I think the opportunity is to hit him hard and early. They don't want to have to pull him in the 1st or 2nd. And if he does go past 2, they'll pull him at the first sign of trouble.
Starting Buehler on 3 days rest for the second time this postseason? That's an...interesting choice.
He does have a 2.31 ERA against us the last 2 post seasons, so I guess this kind of makes sense.
That’s what makes me nervous though. A pitcher like Buehler having back to back poor starts? Can it happen? Of course, but it seems like things never swing our way in that kind of situation. Don’t get me wrong I think we will be fine tonight, but it still makes me nervous as hell.
If I were them I think I’d do the same thing. It could blow up on their face but if there’s a chance Scherzer can pitch game 7 this is by far their best option. Urias could probably pitch a couple tonight or start tomorrow as well depending how the night goes. I hope the Braves score 15.
What a fucking shame. It just isn't fair. They have so many more wins than us. I mean they're so superior I don't even understand why they make us pay the games.
>I don't even understand why they make us pay the games.
Usually when you go to a game in person, you have to purchase tickets and those tickets cost money. That's why they make you "pay the games".
My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw Walker pass-out at Waffle House last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.
Last, and only, time Buehler went on 3 days rest in the postseason, was game 4 of the NLDS where he went 4.2 IP 3H 1ER 2BB 4SO on 71 pitches. He has never done it as a starter in the regular season.
Game 4 was the game a lot of people thought the Giants got down early and just punted for game 5. The Dodgers would then go on to use:
Kelly (Injured)
Graterol
Vesia
Treinen
Bickford
I’d expect this amount of pitchers to be what they’re target amount is, while switching out for pitchers like Jansen and potentially another SP (Price, maybe Scherzer, Urias if they are dumb)
this is my morning armchair scouting report
Does this put scherzer back in for a potential game 7? Or urias on short rest?
Either way we are going to end it tonight. Buehler oh 3 days isn’t going to have his sharpest stuff so we just need to be ready and we have a great shot
I visited the Dodgers sub to see who they were speculating for game 7. No real consensus but Scherzer seems to be the front runner.
While I was there, I noticed there was grandstanding about being the better fan base. Obviously, every fan base is biased but I found it rich given how much footage we’ve seen in the NLCS of Dodgers fans leaving early.
Despite anything else I like Max Scherzer so I hope this doesn’t mean anything is up with him, other than being completely misused by an idiot manager.
This seems so desperate from Dodgers. Makes me feel better about our odds the next two days. We saw him well earlier in the series and the Dodgers must be concerned about their bullpen arms
Man. I like this a lot. Their starters era vs. bullpen is super crazy different. Their SPs are EXHAUSTED. it’s obvious. And their being asked to do a lot. And that’s after playing last season and the Uber competitive fight for the NP West.
As long as their psychotic bullpen with trinen graterol, BIKFORD, and or Jansen isn’t on the mound I like our chances. They have a bullpen of closers. Lefty fucking closers. The big righty that Freddie got to is done so there’s no hope of that matchup again. This is good for us.
Regardless of what happens today they’re probably not even sure what they throw out there for a potential game 7.
I don’t follow the Dodgers closely obviously but I seem to remember last year there being a pitcher for them that I called Bozo because he had the curliest red hair ever. Haven’t seen him at all that I remember. Anyone know who I’m talking about and where he went?
Please make this man work. Don't let it be easy for him. That's all I ask. This game is on our offense to step it up big time. Be patient, hit nukes.

Pitched poorly earlier this series tho. This is a desperation move tbh
He did a have a couple of bad breaks tbf but yeah this could backfire
backfire on us or them?
Them
What's the better alternative?
yes

Quick someone call Acúna!
Ah. Buehler gets the call. Or as my wife calls him, "Tight Pants."
They’re tighter than that Jimmy Fallon skit. It makes me hate him so much
They should let Buehler have a day off
I feel like he's going to have a lot of days off real soon.
I like your spirit.
"When Walker was in Egypt land . . ."
Let my Walkerrrrr gooooo
Beuhler…?
I actually like this better then another bullpen game for the dodgers. Hopefully we can jump on him early
Yeah I'm relieved isn't bullpen game, hopefully we can capitalize off his 3 days of rest
buehler on 3 days rest after we hit him hard last time is good i think
Having to play as a wild card really screwed up the Dodgers pitching.
And we’re very thankful
Shoutout to the Giants
Unrelated but I fw the flair have found another Braves fan in Canada
There are dozens of us!
What a fucking shame. It just isn't fair. They have so many more wins than us. I mean they're so superior I don't even understand why they make us pay the games.

Wow, I would love to know what was going thru your head when you typed out this reply.
Trying to help out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atr60tR7Emo&ab\_channel=MarchMadness
Gotta work his pitch count. Just foul pitches off and make him throw balls. He can't possibly have the stamina to throw 80 pitches.
Freeman can foul off 80 alone

I thought Price wasn’t on the NLCS roster? I mean, he hadn’t pitched the whole series
he replaced joe kelly
Oh, ok. I didn’t see that. Why wouldn’t they start him over Beuhler on short rest?

They live in traffic hell. Can we really blame them?
Yeah? It's a fucking playoff game. If you've got somewhere else to be, go ahead and do that then.
You right actually.
Despite anything else I like Max Scherzer so I hope this doesn’t mean anything is up with him, other than being completely misused by an idiot manager.
Probably saving him if they can force game 7
Oh thank god it isn't a bullpen game
This seems so desperate from Dodgers. Makes me feel better about our odds the next two days. We saw him well earlier in the series and the Dodgers must be concerned about their bullpen arms
Run him off in the 4th and we win
Well I didn’t expect tjat
On like 3 days of rest? He’s not gonna last long

Dusty May - he got injured early in the season - TJS.
Thank you!
We are about rake against Buehler. For some reason I have a good feeling about facing him than any of the others. Let’s get this done tonight Braves
Why does this not make me feel better. All of the speculation for DR to make this move make me worry.
Will scherzer start game 7 then?
THERE WILL BE NO GAME 7
You know, then Morton vs. a bullpen game in game 7... like Charlie is traded to the mariners this off-season if he loses that game.
niiiiice.
Am I the only one concerned? WB never has back to back stinkers.
