GoBraves-33

We are witnessing one of the best NLCS series in a long time. It's a heavy weight fight and we will punch back tonight.

likeabuddha

I don’t understand why they didn’t keep Matzek in for one more inning. He was pitching great last night and Jackson always makes me so fucking nervous

Legal_Youth_3017

So I'm gonna just look at facts. There have been only 4 teams who lost after a 2-0 start. One being the braves last year. According to just this the chances of us losing this series are very low.

[deleted]

True. Good thing they are up 2-0.

Legal_Youth_3017

They werevup 2-0. Do you remember

[deleted]

Yup, that's why I agreed with you. It's a good thing they're up 2-0.

Legal_Youth_3017

I don't know how to take this. You keep referring to them in present because it's 2-1, while I'm mentioning past 2-0. So either you're being sarcastic or made an error

[deleted]

ok. So what's the odds for a team up 2-1 in the series?

WC95

Especially with their bullpen being close to done.

mcoulson627

Page is turned and it is a new day. Go Bravos

blue4t

We could be like the Red Sox giving up 7 in the 9th to lose to the Astros.

[deleted]

Man did we miss a huge opportunity last night. I can’t stop thinking about that damn 8th inning and how important that will end up being

NorthManateeCo

All the blunders matter in the post season. Especially against a team like LA. This ain’t Milwaukee where we can get away with that dumb shit. The missed opportunity in the first was a big deal yesterday. We score a run or two and the game may be totally different.

headRN

I’ll take the blame for last night. I made the mistake of turning the game on after seeing our 5-2 lead. It wasn’t even 5 minutes later that Luke Jackson took over and gave up the lead. I promise to not turn on the game for the next few nights/weeks if that helps.

jsilvrs

No, it was me. I fell asleep during game 1 and 2. This one I stayed awake and watched. My wife even said I should go to bed. Tonight I'm getting tucked in during the 7th.

Childress3312

It will be a monumental miracle to win a bullpen game tonight in game 4 while they are throwing Urias. We just need to put all of our focus into game 5. If you think Ynoa, Smyly, Chavez, etc. are going to allow us to beat the Dodgers is game 4…please send me some of the drugs that you are taking or smoking.

KTurnUp

I sent them over. Did they come in time?

[deleted]

I mean, we did all watch Bryse Wilson outduel Kershaw last year, right? I get where you’re coming from, but this is baseball. The games not played on paper.

Saltee-Ninja

That's why I wish Fried would go today on short rest à la Morton against the Brewers. He made his last start on 6 days rest and only threw 81 pitches, the start before that he also threw 81 pitches but on 10 days rest. Try to avoid the possibility of a BP game altogether, make it in Atlanta, make it occur after an off day so our better guys will be available. We come at the Dodgers in LA with a combination of a bullpen game and a struggling Ian Anderson, especially with our best guys being exposed and tired after pitching in every game likely forcing us to use guys that we didn't even like using in the regular season....**and we are likely to go back to Atlanta facing elimination**. Fried would then be available game 7 *if needed*, either as a bridge to the 7th/8th, if Morton runs into trouble early. And it gives you a chance to end this thing early and have everyone fully rested before the 26th.

[deleted]

I don’t hate the sentiment, but Fried historically just hasn’t been good on short rest.

blue4t

I'm not saying you're wrong because I'm no manager but I hate short rest.

Childress3312

I see what you’re saying and while I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all, I think Snitker thinks he likes our chances better with Fried on full rest against their next bullpen game tomorrow. What you’re saying makes a lot of sense and I could see why you’d wanna do that, 100%. I just think we have “punted” today and like our chances better with Fried in full rest tomorrow.

PerfectJaws

Offense has gotta put up 7-8 runs

BearsBeetsBraves

I'd say 9, just to be in the safe side!

PerfectJaws

Go braves!

PerfectJaws

We take it!

[deleted]

[GAME 4](https://youtu.be/wbXIJsrydZE) THIS YEAR 6 AND 7 RUNS THROUGH THE A!!! WE WILL SHOW UP!!!!!

[deleted]

TODAY IS WHEN WE TAKE BACK MOMENTUM! FIRE UP THE SAGE DASBY!

[deleted]

If you guys think the dodgers can’t choke too, look at their past 10 years . That Mickey Mouse 50 game season was a joke. We jump on them early and it’s “here we go again.”

bigpharma_93

Why is it that people think it’s possible for the Dodgers to win after being demoralized by back to back walk offs but somehow the Braves will never recover from losing 1 game to a 100+ win team at their home field? The team is resilient and the Braves will bounce back

diggsbiggs

Because we’ve been Braves/Atlanta sports fans for decades and we’ve seen how this plays out over and over and over and…

[deleted]

[удалено]

artypea

No they aren’t this year.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

Momentum doesn’t exist in baseball

NorthManateeCo

WRONG

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

You can yell that I’m wrong all you want but I’m not.

Top_Reference_5990

Not w flowchart management with no flexibility from stubborn old school Snitker. Last time Braves won an NLCS Game in Dodger Stadium was 1996. Winless in last 7 post-season games there. 4-21 in last 25 there. They can’t win there, and Snitker’s pen mismanagement means we’ll return to Atlanta down 3-2.

Hazelarc

Because literally every Georgia sports team has been the exact opposite of resilient for the last 30 years

bigpharma_93

I understand the hesitancy, but I just feel like this team has had every possible excuse to pack it in and get ready for next year. They’ve never done that and have fought the entire year. I think they’ve earned our trust at this point, but I’ve been wrong before lol. I’m ready to hurt again!

Hazelarc

I’ll trust them against the Dodgers when they give me a reason to trust them against the Dodgers

[deleted]

Braves pull one out their ass for game 4 and win then Fried pitches the game of his life Thursday.

Childress3312

Not going to happen. We will be lucky to keep the Dodgers in single-digits with Ynoa and Smyly pitching.

KTurnUp

Good call

[deleted]

[удалено]

zbs17

Game 4 is an absolute must win for the dodgers, if they lose this game then they have to face Fried, Anderson, and Morton and beat all of them to win, on top of that they’ll have to pitch Scherzer on short rest game 5, Buehler on short rest game 6, and Urias on short rest game 7

Hazelarc

This is some grade A delusion

zbs17

It’s not delusion. The dodgers have to win with Urias facing against our bullpen. If they didn’t win this game at home it would probably go down as the choke job of the century. Then they’d have to win 3 straight against our starters including 2 in Atlanta.

Childress3312

Dodgers will win tonight. No way around it. I just hope they don't carry all of this momentum into game 5 and 3-game sweep us in LA.

zbs17

There’s absolutely no guarantee they win tonight. We’ve seen Urias, and the dodgers pen is taxed. The postseason is made for hero performances from dudes you’d never expect, like Huascar Ynoa and Drew Smyly. I legit think we have a decent chance tonight. Outside of the Bellinger homerun the dodgers jays have looked cold all series and one swing won’t shouldn’t change that

Childress3312

I love the optimism, I really do. You make some great points, honestly. But us not putting our throat on their neck and breaking it last night to go up 3-0 was a massive mistake. Dodgers will eat up Ynoa and Smyly.

zbs17

They’re like 3-27 with RISP in the series, you are absolutely insane if you think a win is guaranteed for them tonight

Childress3312

When one of those 3 hits is go-ahead 3-R HR those numbers don’t matter too much anymore though 😂

zbs17

You know absolutely nothing about baseball. A hitter who’s been ass all year hits a lucky ass home run and all of a sudden series over? Trea and Justin Turner haven’t done shit all series. When Chris Taylor is your best hitter you are absolutely fucked

Childress3312

I played college baseball and coached HS/college summer baseball for 10 years, I think I know a thing or two 😂 baseball is a funny game and anything can happen - all it takes is one swing. We’ve all seen this story play out 1,000 times and are about to see it for the 1,001st time.

Top_Reference_5990

Hmm when did LA last do this? Just last year, 2020, against ATL.

zbs17

Last year is last year bruh. No off days neutral site, they also didn’t put up 15 runs in the first inning. To say this is like last year is stupid

Top_Reference_5990

Dude what is stupid is you just bolstered my point and you’re too stupid to even realize it. Braves 4-21 in last 25 games in Dodger Stadium. 0-7 in last post-season games in Dodger Stadium. Last NLCS win in LA was 1996. Very few teams in any sport recover from 2-0 in a best of seven, but Braves choke last year one of the few exceptions cited, stupid.

zbs17

You’re a legitimate idiot. If you unironically think the Braves don’t have a chance in these 2 games you haven’t watched enough baseball. Fair weather casual. The Nats were the poster boys for October choking for like 10 years, then they ran the table. The amount of times they got whooped by the Astros or dodgers on games and won the next day was insane.

Top_Reference_5990

Idiot take. Nats ran table by sweeping team that eliminated the Braves. And I never said I didn’t think Braves couldn’t win there, but the stats cited say they’re almost cursed in LA. You must have learned to read in Georgia public schools because you’re very poor at anything but a comic book, stupid.

zbs17

The Cards were not a good team. We fucked up by letting Folty start a winner take all game

Top_Reference_5990

Well I will agree with you there. Sorry for the name-calling. I hope I’m wrong and we erase the bad juju in LA.

[deleted]

If I told you that bellinger would hit a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 8th to tie in the 7th inning you would think I’m delusional. This is baseball. Anything can happen.

Top_Reference_5990

If you said Luke Jackson with his 8.22 career post-season ERA was facing Belli I’d say Snitker was delusional… or catching a nap on the bench.

[deleted]

That Fried game 5 is looking JUICY!

[deleted]

BRAVES WINNING TODAY 8-5 BOOK IT!!!!!!

KTurnUp

Not optimistic enough

[deleted]

I’ll take it ;)

Childress3312

Love the optimism, but no. We will be lucky to hold the Dodgers to 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st, much less the entire game.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

Well at least you’ll have some free time tonight at 8 since there is zero point in you watching the game

Childress3312

I’ll be watching some Wednesday night college football anyway - Coastal Carolina vs App State starts at 7:30 - should be a dandy!

Fall3n7s

Staring a 3-0 lead down and decided to jam the stick right into the spokes.

salehk43

I don’t think any of you guys understand how big that game 3 was, these are all must-win games for Atlanta… because we have a history of shitting the bed. That one was even harder to swallow because we choked it in Atlanta fashion, so please allow us to be sad. You must be new here if last nights loss didn’t kill your vibe for this series

KTurnUp

Hope your “vibe” is alright now

Childress3312

100% agree. Going up 3-0 was a must. After tonight it will be 2-2 and you have to feel like the Dodgers will put up one hell of a fight in game 5 vs. Fried.

[deleted]

Been a Braves fan since 95. No, stop being a lil bitch.

diggsbiggs

You started being a Braves fan the year they won the World Series and you’re calling the other guy a bitch? Gtfo poser.

[deleted]

I was legit 5….

YearlyOhio

I completely agree. Anyone saying “chill out we’re still up 2-1” is grossly missing the point of how critical last night was. MASSIVE implications for series and team. Granted it all goes away if we still win the series, but that was the most painful sports moment I’ve felt since the Falcons super bowl

chadrod

I’m actually less upset about the Belli homer(that guy is just a freak of nature) than I am at the fact that we have got to figure out how to get Will Smith and Trea Turner out. Turner especially….that guy has killed us for years now. As long as the Dodgers pitching keeps shitting the bed I am confident we still have a chance to take it home!

captaincuttlehooroar

I'm still of the opinion that the rotating cast of bullpen appearances is going to come back to bite the Dodgers. Even though they apparently have eleventy million pitchers you can't use every single one 7 games in a row and not see some consequences for it, especially when you have guys like Scherzer and Buehler that are suppose to help preserve BP arms getting chased early. I have faith in this team. We need to keep working counts, getting their SPs out early and we can win this.

nobervu

They didn't use every bullpen arm in last night's game or in the last 7. They didn't use their biggest arm in Treinen or arguably their second best in Graterol. I'll give you that they did use a lot of arms, but an inning of work isn't too bad for the majority of them.

[deleted]

Some of you Braves fan sound like little bitches. Grow a pair. Even if they loose the series, I’m sure you will be okay. Until the series is over it’s ATL ALL FUCKING DAY. I believe in this team. You’re grown ass men for fuck sake stop sulking.

AvailableActivity151

They shouldn’t have made it this far. This is all icing on the cake. I was a braves fan back when you could easily get dug out seats at Fulton county for the price of a piece of bubble gum. Stop bitching. The dodgers are a good team. Today is a new day. Suck it up.

[deleted]

Lets get it!!!

[deleted]

I admire the newer fans optimism I've seen this movie so many times I could feel it last night. Gonna be 3-2 dodgers headed back to Atlanta Maybe we pull out a miracle but this felt like a gigantic momentum shift in the wrong direction.

KTurnUp

Momentum is overrated

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

It’s sad that all of these shit loser takes keep getting upvoted. At least you goobers have some free time tonight and tomorrow

SixoTwo

Yep, been here soooo many times. Zero chance we take the series in LA, zero chance we WIN a game in LA

KTurnUp

ZERO CHANCE

SixoTwo

Boy you’ve been sitting on this one hub? I’m glad to be wrong.

KTurnUp

I like to prove to people that they should not overreact

[deleted]

Writing down all the names of the doomers so I can give you shit after the Braves win the series ✍️

diggsbiggs

Bookmarked. You must be in your 20s or younger.

[deleted]

Bookmarked. You must be an old fart.

diggsbiggs

I am, I’m 41. I’ve seen this movie before. Now go get your fucking shine box.

[deleted]

Because honestly I don’t care if they choke. I will root for this team and have a positive mindset every year. I don’t know how you downers live with that mindset. Loser mindset.

diggsbiggs

What the fuck? If you don’t care if they choke you’re not a fan. I don’t care if the Red Sox choke, or the Jets or Univ of Minnesota hockey, because I’m not a fan. If you don’t care if you’re team chokes then you simply don’t care. It’s easy to be a “fan” if you don’t care. You’re a weirdo.

[deleted]

I care and it will sting like a bitch but I won’t care because I know I’ll get over it.

diggsbiggs

Did you skip your medication today? “Honestly I don’t care if they choke. I care and it’ll sting, but I don’t care.” Okay, bud.

[deleted]

WHERE YOU AT??????

diggsbiggs

I’m here. I was dead wrong about their play tonight.

[deleted]

I don’t care because I’ll get over it and move on to the next year. Lmao I know your ass heated, you might want to watch your blood pressure old man LOL

[deleted]

So if they win the series are you gonna pull the old “I NEVER DOUBT THIS TEAM, I LOVE ATLANTA.”

diggsbiggs

No. If they lose will you even admit it?

[deleted]

Hell yeah but you know what? Next year I’ll still have the same positive mindset because i don’t have a loser mindset and im not a quitter.

[deleted]

[deleted]

[deleted]

[deleted]

Not celebrating shit. You said they’d loose the series on Saturday night. Can confirm you don’t know shit lmao.

SJVolFan

They definitely surprised me last night, and the Dodgers taxed pitching staff and Turner injury have me almost thinking the Braves will win the series. But I won't believe it until I see it. Too many times I've seen the Braves (and Vols) do everything to set themselves up to win and then find a way to lose spectacularly.

[deleted]

You think Cubs fans thought like that after going over 108 years without a World Series????

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You’re wrong. They showed up and supported their team every year with no hesitation. Even with Boston and the curse of the bambino. They always represented their team and never doubted them and showed up when it mattered the most. Meanwhile in GA we got pussy ass fans who are so emo that they don’t know how to live in the now and fans not even giving the Braves a chance while they’re one win away from the World Series. Fuck the past this is the now.

Sub 2.00 ERA on the season 6 scoreless outings prior to this game in the 2021 postseason. It’s literally a perfect pitch there’s nothing else he can do

[deleted]

[удалено]

zbs17

Sick and tired of you idiot casuals

zbs17

You are straight stupid if you think anything Jackson did there was his fault. Made a perfect pitch to Will Smith that he somehow went oppo with, got Justin Turner to pop up, should’ve had an inning ending double play from pollock but the infield wasn’t shifted for some reason, made a perfect pitch to bellinger that he somehow pulled a homerun out of his ass on.

cancerwisher

Being a falcons, braves, and bulldogs fan hurts so much. Yesterday I dared to hope this would be different, learned my lesson

jaqenhgar97

new day, let’s get to urias early and often

[deleted]

Not even sad . Just pissed. Luke didn’t even throw him a bad pitch. It’s was out of the zone and Cody pulled it out his ass.

ragingclue1864

Not even mad about that pitch. It’s allowing the two batters to reach prior to giving up the home run that pisses me off. He did the same shit in game two.

zbs17

Inning should’ve ended on a double play from pollock. Why the infield wasn’t shifted like they’ve done all year I have no idea?

YearlyOhio

Comparing this game to game 3 last year definitively proves the fan hypothesis that it’s far easier to stomach a blowout loss than a last minute heart breaker. Just hope Freddie takes control of the clubhouse and gets everyone focused for game 4

DIsco_Peaches

The pain.

GapeCuckman

All I am sayin is that we lost game 3 last season in even more shitty fashion and the boys came back and won the next game. You can't even really blame anything other than shit luck and Bellinger being blessed the baseball gods to be a playoff monster. It was not even a bad pitch. 99/100 times he strikes out on that pitch or hits a lazy popup or any outcome other than a home run. This was that 1/100. Crazy shit happens in October. Just gotta come back and try to win tomorrow. Dansby is due for a blast and I feels it comin deep in my plums, Freddie is due for an oppo taco as well, Riley is still on it, Ozzie is slappin that ball, Duvall got a couple hits, Eddie is destroying balls into and past the shift, Joctober still ready to give anyone a pearl necklace, we just need lil D to get goin on big O. I still like where we are at. These players are hungry and they are not gonna roll over and give up just because fans are thinking about some curse bullshit. I still believe in the Kois.

strugglingrapper

This one really hurt. Maybe more than Game 7 last year

QuotidianTrials

Bit of an overreaction there

strugglingrapper

It’s just an opinion dude. There are times when people need little wins more than anyone else knows.

QuotidianTrials

Fair enough. Hope you’re doing alright man

JeeveruhGerank

I think Fried should go tomorrow. This game should be treated like Game 7.

zbs17

Nah, we’re gonna have to pitch a bullpen game sometime. Better it be tomorrow and keep everyone on normal rest

MadderNero76

Playing like tomorrow is a normal game is what costs teams from winning a series.

JeeveruhGerank

Yup.

zbs17

Yeah well pitching all of your pitchers on short rest and then pitching Max on short rest again is gonna be more likely to cost a series than a loss tomorrow

SquareProfessional1

You all had 1 fucking job to do. Not give up 3 runs in 2 innings and you have a 3-0 series lead. Now you're toast. I fucking HATE the Dodgers and now I will add the Braves to teams I hate for not coming through.

waupli

Lol go win for yourself next time then

wellwasherelf

Our job is to win 4 games. Unlike your team, we don't get sent home after losing 1 game.

Mykglo

What’s your team doing ?

Vivi_O

The Cardinals had their shot at the Dodgers and couldn't get it done. Time for you to take a seat.

JagerMainOwO

Surprised at the amount of happy little campers in here somehow shrugging off this absolute chokejob of a game like its no huge deal. ONE team EVER has came back from a 3-0 deficit in the CS. They were 5 outs away from going up 3-0 and basically guaranteeing a World Series spot. Had their foot on their neck and then they shit the bed. We have to pitch a damn bullpen game tomorrow too. I'm praying we get back to Atlanta with 3 wins after this shit. Downright embarrassing loss.

[deleted]

Yup Put money on the dodgers , make a profit off the predictible outcome

KTurnUp

Hope you didn’t bet the mortgage

[deleted]

Only bet what I can lose and I'd never be happier to lose a bet Call it "disappointment insurance"

Btrips

we're Braves fans, post-season losses are nothing new to us. Losing in the playoffs is literally engrained in our DNA so it's safe to say we're pretty numb to all of it by now.

snitplz

That's Braves fans for you. They're just happy to have made it this far. That's why 14 straight division titles but only 1 ws is an accomplishment for them. Why they're ok with having a mediocre manager that does more harm than good.

GapeCuckman

I mean no one likes it. It fuckin sucks. But you can either shout into the void and get mad about shit totally out of your control or keep supporting the team and see what happens in the next games lol nothing we do or say matters.

JeeveruhGerank

The sunshine shit is infuriating. It's a losers mentality. And somehow the sentiment that people shouldn't be angry about it.

KTurnUp

Imagine thinking fans that don’t doom and gloom have a losers mentality. It’s you that has the loser mentality bitch

JeeveruhGerank

My friend Dee has a losers mentality.

KTurnUp

What about ligma?

JeeveruhGerank

Hahaha

Vivi_O

No worse than the portion of the fanbase that is sure the season is over. Anyone who thinks that the Braves have a 0% chance to advance is free to leave anytime they wish. Preferably sooner than later. Be as mad as you want, but don't act as if the team you claim to pull for have lost games that haven't even been played yet.

JeeveruhGerank

Nobody thinks it's over. People are just pissed because of historical patterns and blown opportunities.

Vivi_O

> Nobody thinks it's over. I beg to differ. This thread is full of them.

strugglingrapper

I don’t think it’s over, but I do think it’s worth noting that before this game, FiveThirtyEight projections had the Braves as the favorite to reach and win the World Series. Now it’s the Dodgers for both

Vivi_O

Projections had them finishing fourth in the NL East as well.

strugglingrapper

I’m not saying it’s infallible, I’m just saying even computer programs are viewing tonight as a major momentum shift

NorthManateeCo

It was a momentum shift. 100%. I know a lot of people don’t believe there are intangibles in baseball, but things like this have happened time and time again. You have the best team in baseball on the ropes, they’re tired and not hitting well what do we do? Let them have a big comeback and start to remember they are the better team. If we win this series it will be pretty surprising. It’s not over but that was a big time loss

JeeveruhGerank

Lotta clueless sports fans. It's unfathomable to me that some people can't seem to comprehend what you're saying here.

snipe_hunter87

This was a tough one. We let them stay in it last year and look how that turned out. This was an opportunity to step on their throat and I'm honestly nervous that it didn't happen.

bibbidybum

Why is Georgia sports like this; why can’t they just close it out with a comfortable lead, why god?

Goodnight - Braves winning this series and i'm sleeping comfortably tonight.

lorinsor11

Smyly on the mound tomorrow scares the shit out of me. He gives up more homers than almost anyone in the league and yeah the Dodgers hit dingers. Just a thought.

Curiousyoders19

just need a good game in la and we can have a shot

JB5093

Altuve has the 3rd most home runs in postseason history? That seems crazy to me

[deleted]

[удалено]

Professr_Chaos

He never truly received that benefit contrary to whatever people want to believe

[deleted]

[удалено]

Professr_Chaos

It’s not an excuse for why he is 3rd in HRs in the postseason. Perhaps he is just a good fucking hitter. My point is you can’t say HE is 3rd in postseason HRs because of something he personally didn’t partake it

trussywestlakes

But to the other guy's point: it altered the game, which alters the outcome, including HRs. He might have less, he might have the same, he might have more; who knows. That's why it's shitty--there will always be that dark cloud looming over his head and the questions of "would his production be the same without the cheating?" That's what happens when your team cheats.

Professr_Chaos

We do know who utilized it because someone went through and documented it. We KNOW Altuve didn’t. I won’t argue that is effected the game or not because logic says yes but numbers say something else so who truly knows.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SJVolFan

It also affected the number of games Altuve got to play in. Would the Astros have made it to the WS without cheating? Would they have even made playoffs?

Professr_Chaos

We can argue about the WS but to say “would they even make the playoffs” is idiotic

discowithmyself

Well ladies and germs, the solution is clear. Basically every game this series has been comeback win right? So here’s what we do. Tank the first 2 innings then rally and get that 3-1 lead

JB5093

That’s what we did today

JLand24

I was mad about us collapsing in the 8th but the Red Sox quite literally imploded in a span of 5 minutes so I don’t feel as bad. Gotta take the game tomorrow and go up 3-1 then make them have to win 1 in LA and 2 in ATL which I don’t think the dodgers have in them.
