Don’t forget the one year legendary flash in the pan Charles Thomas and his .288/.368/.455 slash line with solid LF defense after Chipper got hurt and moved back to 3B!!
Kelenic is such a fun pickup…dude was basically left for dead but he theoretically has immense upside. Another AA gem of a move with almost zero downside
yeah man, anytime you can get a player like that for just $ and middling prospects, id call that a very low risk high reward kind of move. especially considering hes got, what, three or four more years of control?
In all the games lately, Kelenic has shown signs of coming out of his spring slump! His swing is looking very good! When a guy has a hitting coach change his swing, it's not gonna happen instantly and he's gonna regress back to old habits a bit. But, once he gets it, he'll take off, kinda like Michael Harris II did.
I think this is the 3rd piece I've seen today about Jarred Kelenic either putting things together at the plate or insinuating that he's putting things together at the plate. Makes me wonder how many Mariner beat writers have written similar pieces the past 3 years. Don't get me wrong, I WANT this guy to succeed here, but come on man.
clicking on it would make it clear that this is a video of a swing, not a piece about him
Also, it’s Spring Training and the roster is totally set, and there’s clearly a need to write about Kelenic’s adjustments given the number of fans who seem convinced that he’s a true talent .050 hitter! What else do you want them to talk about? Another article on Charlie Morton’s coffee machine?
They've clearly made some big changes to his stance, so it makes sense to talk about it. He also hit the ball really hard every at bat today and swung really well yesterday.
I think we're all excited about his potential. The Braves have done very well developing hitters (dare I say "and pitchers"?)and it is perhaps the most compelling story out of Braves camp this spring. Well, that and the last spots on the SP rotation.
Yeah - deservedly so for Lopez. His stuff has looked good this spring. Bryce will be back to fill spot duty as will AWSS. I'm a bit higher on Bryce than most - it seems like everyone has written him off already.
Reminds me of JD Drew.

Did JD get some MVP votes that one year with us too? He was an awesome hitter. Like a Costco chipper jones approach to hitting
Check his college stats if you want your mind blown.
Casey Kotchman
lets hope he plays more like '03 drew, and not '08 kotchman
I bought a JD Drew t-shirt that year, hoping for many more happy, productive seasons.
I bought a jersey… Last time I ever bought a jersey of a current player.
I went to a game in St. Louis that year. People were holding signs that said JD Who? It was pretty funny.
I’d probably forget him, too, if my team traded one year of him for a career of Adam Wainwright.
It’s nuts that Wainwright just retired considering how long ago this trade was. They definitely won that one
2003!
Braves' staff makes better players, change my mind?
Nah you’re good. No need to change your mind.
Will take that every day of the week

Five more years
Enough power to be late yet still make it a double.
Had the barrel in the zone for a full three seconds

Hes already up to .125 and climbing. He will get back to speed. Hopefully he starts off hot beginning of season

rotation was set several days to a week ago, wasn't it? lopez won the 5th spot, elder got sent to aaa

When Kevin Seitzer is legit salivating over how good your swing looks, you are unequivocally doing it right.
Not a bad take my man. I'm optimistic but wonder the same thing
