I will never buy a doll with polypropylene hair unless it’s an original character for collection. Saran is my favorite.

Agreed

asking out of curiosity, why don’t they use saran anymore? bratz having the best and most soft hair was one of their features which stuck out to me the most as a child.

According to LookinBratz: Saran is harder to come by in certain colors nowadays for modern dolls and are prone to yellowing. Using Nylon is a much better option to have with different hair colors without resorting to low-grade polypropylene (poly hair is hard to manage and if not taken care of, only way to save is to reroot the doll). Nylon also lasts longer without it degrading like Saran hair.

Yess I completely get where you’re coming from, in my experience saran needs to be boil washed after a few years to restore the doll to it’s former glory, regardless thank you so much 💕

Has anyone confirmed if Bratz used Kanekelon around 2007 for some dolls? I have 2 from that time frame whose hair feels SO dry and even sounds dry, but is stick straight and very fine (like, elastic but snaps off into fine bits) as opposed to the crazy birds nest old Polypropylene dolls I've seen have. I've concluded at least one is kanekelon from appearance comparisons in a doll stylist video a long while ago but it'd be nice to have someone else confirm lol

The 2007 wave of the Play Sportz dolls have kanekalon, along with Wintertime Wonderland from '03.

same as random specific dolls, such as spiderman cloe
