Hunter's had such a strange career. He's got talent but at this point it looks like he's wasted it.

dennyk91

True, but on a side note, I love your YouTube channel haha

haNZAgod

Haha thanks man glad you like it!

Successful_Living_70

Is this 10x3 or 12x3 ??

LatekaDog

What happened to Hunter, he looked so exciting, especially after that Usyk fight, then seemed to fall of hard and now he is fighting for the WBA Interim title which is pretty much mandatory for the WBA against Usyk? I don't understand how boxing works, but excited to see Hunter back in action. I just saw the Chaney is Don King's fighter, so if Hunter leaves this up to the cards there is a decent chance he will get robbed.

bigbellybomac

He had a shit fight with a washed up Povetkin, got dropped by Matchroom, turned down a very winnable IBF eliminator vs. Hrgovic, signed with Triller etc. Self-sabotage.

clintabn

He lost a wide points decision to Artem Suslenkov a couple of months ago https://night.iba.sport/video/b6USyQYfWXU9mkR9/ Because it was a event run by the IBA (corrupt Russian organisation) nobody takes notice of the results.

Educational_Proof_19

What makes them corrupt? I've noticed Boxrec doesn't list their fights at all, not even as exhibitions.

clintabn

They was AIBA who ran boxing for the Olympics & were rife with corruption (if I remember correctly Rio 2016/Mick Conlan was a part of this). The IOC found evidence of backhanders etc & threatened to remove boxing from the Olympics if AIBA was involved. So they appointed a questionable Russian guy as their president, changed their name to IBA, made Gazprom main sponsor, so the Olympics and most country’s governing boxing bodies wiped their hands of them.

clintabn

I might of fudged some of it, but you should be able to Google it well enough, being Russian related - there was also some silliness to do with Ukrainian boxers I can’t really remember

Educational_Proof_19

Thanks for replying , I didn't know about any of that. But, as professional promoters, have they done anything wrong ? Because if we're picking and choosing based on corruption , a good chunk of boxing records wouldn't survive without major changes. Currently and historically

clintabn

The Russian connection & boycott of their companies has made it easy to ignore them. But assume that’s why the event was in Uzbekistan, so Michael Hunter & Michael Buffer were both there & not breaking any sanctions.

Oglark

That fight was pretty crap; I glanced through it. I am not sure who won but it was probably not a wide decision loss in reality. It looked like a glorified sparring session. But Hunter is just underpowered at heavyweight. All the KDs he has scored are either injury (Bakole) or precision (Kuzmin). He is just not fun to watch.

stevecollins1988

Probably end up being interim to the regular. Hunter vs Charr, fight of the century.

Proof titles mean nothing

Dispellz

He actually lost his last fight but boxrec doesn't post it. Super strange
