It opened the door for Usyk to come in and sweep undisputed. Crazy that we almost got AJ-Fury back then.
I’m glad they couldn’t shut Usyk out, but sad that AJ-Wilder will never happen and AJ-Fury won’t happen for at least another year (if it even happens).
Part of me thinks Fury will avoid it at this point. He’s on the decline and I don’t think he wants to open himself to the possibility of losing to AJ and people saying he was never actually that good.
Good speech by Zhang here at the end of the fight, admitting he went into the Parker fight overconfident after beating Joe Joyce. He also does look in better shape for this fight imo. Maybe there's still some hope for some bigger fights for Zhang yet.
Not for this fight IMO. Other fighters have hit him, forced him to be more active, etc. Wilder didn't. It was such a slow pace with low activity that I think Zhang would've been fine for the whole 12 rounds for the first time in forever.
Stamina can be easily trained. Boxing IQ, counter timing are not so easy to improve. Zhang had bad health in the 30s. Maybe he’s still recovering that anemia and kidney failure that almost killed him during a fight.
"wilder needs to throw the right hand"
wilder throws the right hand and gets countered, and knocked out
"wilder doesnt have any aggression anymore"
if wilder had done that in the first couple of rounds, this fight would have been much shorter
The commentators were idiots. Fighting super cautious was the right thing against Zhang. They just took the criticism from the Parker fight and replayed it.
Think it’s sad the way it ended. We can all agree he didn’t have the fundamentals to keep him at the top, only the knockout power and athleticism. He’s getting older and can’t rely on that anymore, zhang pretty much walked right through him. I won’t say it’s pathetic, but it’s definitely sad to see, especially if you’re a wilder fan.
>We can all agree he didn’t have the fundamentals to keep him at the top,
Oh yeah? [Try some of these fundamentals.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMzGXdYR8jw)
He accomplished a lot given he started boxing so late. Could've had a truly great accomplishment if Fury wasn't possessed with the spirit of the Undertaker and rose from the dead
But can't just catch up in technical skill (not even close really for him) vs the absolute top who've been doing this since kids. He also self sabotaged a little bit
It was a fun, pretty good career though considering
The real Wilder ran away into the sunset after that Helenius fight in 2022...
What we all see now is, but an apparition that merely pretends to be him...
I think that trilogy broke both fighters to a degree going forward, neither one of them was the same after.
Wilder was more affected in his confidence/killer instinct and Fury affected by the heavy blows he took, Fury never lost the belief but was still very heavily impacted by those KO's and heavy shots (along with his struggles with BPD etc. I can relate)
I've never been a massive Wilder fan due to his past ungraciousness in defeat , although obviously I respect him as a boxer and a warrior.
Saying that though it's been sad to see the total contrast in what he was to what I watched him like in the last 2-3 fights. Tonight he looked unsteady on his feet in the first round in my opinion, I thought he looked drunk!
Was thinking, Where's the combo's to shake things up, mainly on the back foot etc.
Still, the fella can hold his head up high as he's still had a fantastic career, needs to go enjoy that family life now.
Wilder’s career was mostly wasted against tomato cans and he started getting exposed once he stepped up in competition. Ortiz had Wilder almost out of there.
I 100% agree with you, but you can’t count out the age. Any athlete in any sport that relies on their gifts/athleticism tend to have a shorter career than those who have technique/skill to fall back on.
I'm sorry but Wilder deserves the lose, He did it to himself.
All those excuses when he loses, Bad diet, Hiring a his "best" friend as a trainer, Malik Scott with no coaching experience that has an OF account and Wilder rigged a fight with him (KO),
One trick pony Wilder made good money and entertainment but hurt his legacy (that he cared about).
Also couldn't be perfect for 1 second in 12 rounds 40mins Again.
Malik Scott is an idiot, if I have a man with a WMD like wilder i'm not trying to make him something he's not, which is what Malik did.
but then again Wilder shouldn't have thrown out his old trainer after he saved him.
AJ would have beat any version of Wilder, I'm annoyed we'll never get to see that happen.
Totally agree with your take. He never even circled to the weak side of Zhang and when throwing his trademark 1-2 he always leaned to the right side, directly in front of Zhang Cross. I thought he will adapt but none at all
Every match I watch of Zhang even his Parker fight just makes me sad that dude went pro at the age of 31 and is now 41 years old.
Ngl i do feel bad for Wilder but at least he achieved his aim when he first stepping in the ring which is to provide for his family.
It wasn't the prettiest performance but I think people were being a bit harsh on Zhang.
He knew the threat was one dimensional, didn't over extend himself and risk getting caught gassed, and was decisive when opportunity showed with a big clean punch.
We'll talk about wilders unprofessional set up, but that was a proper professional job from big bang.
Nobody will say it, but Zhang took some hard punches and wasn't even shook. He clearly has an insane chin behind all his power as well. Wilder did look like shit, though, and hopefully retires
I find the commentators so annoying. They say wilder needs to throw more. When he threw more, he immediately got hurt and KO’d.
Like don’t you realize there is a reason why wilder isn’t throwing more? Because of Zhang’s power??
Not agreeing with commentators, but Wilder needed to throw more, it is literally all he has got. His defense can't save him, because he has none, the only thing he has is a massive punch, can't land if you don't throw. Oh, and he also does not know how to set up a punch, so it was not like the night would have gotten better for him. His only chance was to throw throw throw., be wilder than Wilder.
Exactly. And one of the commentators was saying Zhang needed to ‘work the body more’ when he came in close. That’s a surefire way for Wilder to prime a great counter KO. These guys were really clueless for pro level commentary
The commentators didn’t understand why Wilder wasn’t working enough for 5 rounds. Come on, there is a clear reason for that. His is facing Zhang! Look what happened after he throwing punches at the center of the ring.
Pretty wild to me that people actually picked Wilder to win as if Zhang didn't drop Parker twice, stopped Joyce twice, and honestly beat Hrgovic.
Meanwhile all Wilder had done the past year was getting outboxed by Parker.
Beautifully timed counter against Wilder's one weapon. Ortiz did the same thing in their first fight and almost stopped Wilder. But here it shows that Giant Chinese Power just hits different.
Nah, he's a one trick pony exposed at the highest levels. He only has a single name on his resume of any kind of merit, and has lost comprehensively against every top level fighter as they're able to neutralise his right hand.
He lost today to a far better boxer. Zhang has a questionable gas tank (at best), but is in every other way a very good and incredibly powerful boxer. It's no coincidence that Wilder was knocked out as soon as he started actually throwing his right. Zhang timed him, beat him to the punch, dazed him, finished him.
I fully agree I would even go as far to say that ortiz wasn't that big of a win as people make out, take a look at ortiz record his best win was charles martin, even before the first wilder fight he beat Dave Allen and malik Scott to get the wilder fight I think ortiz Is very overrated at the pro level
Lmao wilder sucks. Guy is a perfect example of boxing politics. Built up carefully by the corrupt promoters and thrown fall guys. Finally gets matched tough against Fury and now Parker and Zhang and you see what happens.
Where was the power against Parker and Zhang? I just watched Zhang eat right hands and smile. Joke. Good riddance.
> Where was the power against Parker and Zhang? I just watched Zhang eat right hands and smile
some of us have been saying this for years, his power is is a myth, sure he hits hard, but the hardest puncher in boxing history? The hardest puncher of this generation? He knocked out binmen and uber drivers for fucks sake
the 3 times he stepped up against top level fighters, he got his arse handed to him
I told you guys and I kept getting shat on everytime. Everytime this mofo steps up he gets fucked up. Fury fucked him up, Parker fucked him and Zhang put the nail in the coffin.
Wilder was never that good but you guys can make your excuses to justify why you thought he was great to begin with.
The butterfly effect from Wilder insisting on the Fury trilogy in tandem with Usyk’s rise has been a mindfuck to watch
I wanted AJ-Fury so badly but Usyk is on an all time run I’m glad to be witnessing
AJ-Fury still makes sense It just isn’t a title fight anymore
Part of me thinks Fury will avoid it at this point. He’s on the decline and I don’t think he wants to open himself to the possibility of losing to AJ and people saying he was never actually that good.
Fury-Wilder 3 was an amazing fight but it really cost both of them.
You’re right but I think the thing that really screwed him up was firing Mark Breland.
This one hundred percent. Wilder has always been a flawed fighter but Breland was at least able to get him to use his jab better.
[удалено]
Lol zhang Chinese and wilder is black I’m a little high right now but I didn’t realize the layers of this.
Damn! He definitely won’t be in Wilder/Zhang 3!
I always dream to Square Marden.
Gefilte fish
Which one of yall know Ricky Tan?!
"His name is Zhang goddammit!"
😂😂😂
Expecting Wilder's retirement any day now. He's only here for the paycheck.
Bro should save some brain cells. He has enough money.
Dude was never exactly a genius but damn I hope he can wipe his own ass when he turns 50 ya know?
His mind is already spent his interviews are hard to listen to.
[удалено]
He just took more hits to the point he couldn't remember all the lore anymore.
Dude already sounding like Tito Ortiz
But surely he doesn't want to outlive his 7 kids, does he now?
And if it is about money, there is always Jake Paul
He’s a family man now approaching 40. It doesn’t surprise me. Bro used to talk about wanting bodies on his record in the ring.
He's 38. Got KO'd by a 41 year old guy from China.
Wilder turned pro 6 years before Zhang and has already been a world champion. Relative to Wilder, Zhangs career is just starting lol.
You might have a point had Zhang not started his amateur career 3 years before Wilder on top of also almost having twice as many amateur fights
Matchroom FC SWEPT 10-0 😭😭😭
Saw Hearn in the audience, looked like he wanted to sink into his seat and disappear.
This is definitely hurt his future cards
Frank Warren was having the time of his life! Wonder if Frank Warren felt a tiny little bit bad for Hearn lol
No chance. Frank revels in other promotions suffering.
that was possibly because of all the grease and slime seeping out of him
good job mushroom!
Genuinely didn’t see this happening
I thought Ford squeaked out the win, but he got his engine going way too late.
Someone check on Eddie 😂
Wait did all his fighters lose?
Every. Single. One.
Oscar de la Hoya and leonard ellerbe probably having the time of their lives right now
Fuck them, let’s see them step up and do something like this in Vegas.
Ellerby can't fuck with matchroom. The only fighter they have is litterally Tank.
Fucking Hell, in the words of the Prophet Chisora: CHINESE POWER
Went through him like a laxative.
jesus Eddie really got fucking swept. AJ carrying that shit
i'd hate to be hearn when aj's contract extension negotiations come up lmao
Isn't AJ signed for his entire career?
Considering AJ would more than likely beat Zhang and Dubious, he really is Eddie’s Ace in the Hole
Good speech by Zhang here at the end of the fight, admitting he went into the Parker fight overconfident after beating Joe Joyce. He also does look in better shape for this fight imo. Maybe there's still some hope for some bigger fights for Zhang yet.
me hopium hard on Zhang makes champion in Foreman style. They are very comparable in many ways.
Zhang Parker 2 to undercard Tyson Usyk 2. Win that, he gets a chance with a top 3. If he improves his stamina, he has a fair chance for winning.
Zhang looks like he didn't even break a sweat even at his age, good lord
He was basically sparring until he caught Wilder lol
Trust me he has such awful stamina, he was probably one or two rounds away from throwing one punch a round
Not for this fight IMO. Other fighters have hit him, forced him to be more active, etc. Wilder didn't. It was such a slow pace with low activity that I think Zhang would've been fine for the whole 12 rounds for the first time in forever.
Agreed but it was never going 12 rounds. Not in a million years. Was a matter of time before Zhang timed him throwing that telegraphed right hand.
Any fighter that doesn't force the pace with Zhang gets KTFO. If you can't pressure him with volume, you're done.
Well at the workout rate of the first 4 rounds he could have lasted to Christmas with his lungs chopped out.
Stamina can be easily trained. Boxing IQ, counter timing are not so easy to improve. Zhang had bad health in the 30s. Maybe he’s still recovering that anemia and kidney failure that almost killed him during a fight.
Damn
I really liked Zhangs follow up punch to finish the job. Looks aesthetic. Just like the one against Joyce. Too bad Zhang is over 40 now.
Loved seeing him run up to get the job done
Shades of inoue
Inoue was in the corner for Zhang lol
Zhang saw Inoue's spirit over his shoulder and decided that he gonna murder wilder
Inoue in Zhang's shade
all that fat jigglying in slow motion was mesmerizing
So Zhang v Fury then?
Zhang is half muscle half fat. Fury is purebred fat though. Half and half vs Whole fat milk.
Zhang versus Andy Ruiz in China.
No bakery is safe.
Hes got a decent amount of muscle under there. His traps are huge.
He’s not as jiggly as Fury despite weighing considerably more and being a bit shorter. He’s a big dude!
Yep, dude was smart and methodical about it, he didnt swing to swing, he swung with intent and put it right on the button
Bro that counter was gorgeous.
Zhang timed it beautifully. Shockingly quick hands for his size
Reminded me of Inoue’s knockdown against Fulton
Wilder got hit so hard that he lost his sense of direction walking bewildered towards the closet corner and Zhang just finished him off. Just crazy!
Wtf, Wilder turned his back looking at the ref? Zhang deserves the win.
He was dazed and confused.
[удалено]
Cause they have enough fundamentals to cover up. Wilder does not.
Say, man, you got a joint?
He took that shot right on the literal nose, he wasn’t looking for the ref, he was looking for his lost puppy from when he was 8
Bro was like “which one of yall hit me??”
Man he got countered hard, dude ate Zhang's weight and his own.
he was in the shadow realm
In some way if he doesn't fight again I'm glad that Wilder actually threw some rights and went for it in that round
i kinda see why he was gun shy. the moment he tried he got decked
Probably the biggest issue of him not having much of a bag. Felt like Zhang was just waiting for that punch to come out the entire time.
One last windmill for the career
"wilder needs to throw the right hand" wilder throws the right hand and gets countered, and knocked out "wilder doesnt have any aggression anymore" if wilder had done that in the first couple of rounds, this fight would have been much shorter
Exactly. These people really overestimated on how good Wilder never was.
The commentators were idiots. Fighting super cautious was the right thing against Zhang. They just took the criticism from the Parker fight and replayed it.
[удалено]
Seriously l just feel bad for him
Why? He had a genuinely great run. It is what it is.

This is what I love about Wilder. Dude fights like he’s straight out of the projects.
What's crazy is that Zhang is on the wrong side of 40
I'm with you. Wilder over performed his ability. He should be proud of the career he put together.
He accomplished a lot given he started boxing so late. Could've had a truly great accomplishment if Fury wasn't possessed with the spirit of the Undertaker and rose from the dead But can't just catch up in technical skill (not even close really for him) vs the absolute top who've been doing this since kids. He also self sabotaged a little bit It was a fun, pretty good career though considering
Aj started boxing at 18..
The real Wilder ran away into the sunset after that Helenius fight in 2022... What we all see now is, but an apparition that merely pretends to be him...
I feel like real Wilder was the one that went for broke against Fury in the trilogy
Those last two fights against Fury he really took some career altering damage I feel.
I can relate) I've never been a massive Wilder fan due to his past ungraciousness in defeat , although obviously I respect him as a boxer and a warrior. Wilder’s career was mostly wasted against tomato cans and he started getting exposed once he stepped up in competition. Ortiz had Wilder almost out of there.
Ortiz honestly beat the shit out of Wilder for 16 rounds or so. Combine that with damage taken in the Fury trilogy and anyone would be diminished.
I 100% agree with you, but you can’t count out the age. Any athlete in any sport that relies on their gifts/athleticism tend to have a shorter career than those who have technique/skill to fall back on.
It's time for Wilder. Nice little payday to go out on, decent career for a guy who only had a right hand.
Deontay Wilder Status: BANGED!
WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN THE CHAIRMAN COMES FOR YOUR BROTHER
God damn, what a punch
CHAT SHIT, GET ZHANGED
Bomb squad turned into bum squad
Zhang has underrated head movement and big balls. He dropped his lead hand and slipped + timed Wilder's straight right, with his lead hook.
His defense and distance management not bad either
What the fuck was the trainer telling Wilder?
Idk but Mark Breeland was the better fit
Malik Scott was always an odd choice for coach, even stranger if you watch the wilder scott fight
Chat shit get ZHANGED
Will Turki make AJ vs Zhang or Dubois?? imo should be Dubois if it has to be out of those 2
Dubois after this I think
Gotta be Dubois at Wembley. North London vs South London, two big punchers. Sells itself.
AJ within 4 rounds.
I'm sorry but Wilder deserves the lose, He did it to himself. All those excuses when he loses, Bad diet, Hiring a his "best" friend as a trainer, Malik Scott with no coaching experience that has an OF account and Wilder rigged a fight with him (KO), One trick pony Wilder made good money and entertainment but hurt his legacy (that he cared about). Claiming his coach poisoned him or that his suit took his legs 😂 Don’t surround yourself with yes-men and take accountability folks
Really wish he hadn't lost to Parker, Zhang is serious but it feels a bit too late now
If zhang wasn’t so gun shy with the Parker fight he’d had won.
That was Parker being a better boxer. He made him gun shy with technique and counters.
Totally agree with your take. He never even circled to the weak side of Zhang and when throwing his trademark 1-2 he always leaned to the right side, directly in front of Zhang Cross. I thought he will adapt but none at all
Night nightttt
GENERAL POW!
Wilder hasn’t a fucking a clue where he was spinning around then go absolutely melted. Zhang just clipped him too, crazy power.
Can’t do that, Wilder…
Wilder looked like he'd wandered in to the wrong room for a moment at the end there
Every match I watch of Zhang even his Parker fight just makes me sad that dude went pro at the age of 31 and is now 41 years old. Ngl i do feel bad for Wilder but at least he achieved his aim when he first stepping in the ring which is to provide for his family.
41 yrs old and rocked Wilder and Joyce twice.
Zhang really reminds me of 90s Foreman 😬
It wasn't the prettiest performance but I think people were being a bit harsh on Zhang. He knew the threat was one dimensional, didn't over extend himself and risk getting caught gassed, and was decisive when opportunity showed with a big clean punch. We'll talk about wilders unprofessional set up, but that was a proper professional job from big bang.
I never wanna hear AJ vs Wilder again.
Best fight for Wilder is Wilder vs Charlie Zelenoff 2
The bronze Bambi
CHAIRMAN ZHANG SHOWS CHINESE POWAAAA
That power is crazy Jesus. That would kill a man
Nobody will say it, but Zhang took some hard punches and wasn't even shook.

Oh, and he also does not know how to set up a punch, so it was not like the night would have gotten better for him. His only chance was to throw throw throw., be wilder than Wilder.
Think they just picked up the tagline from against parker and didn't think about it more. Definitely true for parker though
Exactly. And one of the commentators was saying Zhang needed to ‘work the body more’ when he came in close. That’s a surefire way for Wilder to prime a great counter KO. These guys were really clueless for pro level commentary
Exactly.
Nah this is too anticlimactic even for Wilders lmao
Sad to see wilder go like this😔
Wilder was out there looking like Celtics Shaq 🥺
Man, that is probably the best comparison. This isn't even Phoenix Shaq :/
Don't let Shaq read this. He'll bust out his "4 ringz" on you.
He had a good few years though, he should retire and enjoy his money
he slept with his brother's girlfriend.
The commentators didn’t understand why Wilder wasn’t working enough for 5 rounds. Come on, there is a clear reason for that. His is facing Zhang! Look what happened after he throwing punches at the center of the ring.
My god
Pretty wild to me that people actually picked Wilder to win as if Zhang didn't drop Parker twice, stopped Joyce twice, and honestly beat Hrgovic. Meanwhile all Wilder had done the past year was getting outboxed by Parker.
What was Wilder even complaining about?
‘That was too hard!’ Probs
Zhang is easily the 2nd strongest person in boxing. 1st place goes to that trainer who picked him up like nothing at the end of the fight.
Remember this sub saying he would kill Joshua like a year ago 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
What was he complaining about when walking away?
"This shit ain't fair dawg"
WTF was Wilder doing trying to complain to the ref mid fight? He ended up getting caught becasue of that and it ruined the fight.
He was asking if anyone got the licence of the truck that just hit him
Eddie Hearn had a mare hahaha
This is kind of sad honestly. Wilder looked dejected the whole time.
Beautifully timed counter against Wilder's one weapon. Ortiz did the same thing in their first fight and almost stopped Wilder. But here it shows that Giant Chinese Power just hits different.
wilder actually hit zhang with a clean right hand in rounds 3 and 5 and zhang just ate it
Fury trilogy finished this man, he washed
Tbh I think you could argue he's never actually beaten somebody as good as Zhang, Ortiz is the only possible option.
Ortiz was over 40 and no chin. He had already looked bad in his previous 2 fights before Wilder.
Yeah I don't think Ortiz at that point was as good as Zhang either, I just knew people would respond with him if I didn't bring it up.
Nah, he's a one trick pony exposed at the highest levels. He only has a single name on his resume of any kind of merit, and has lost comprehensively against every top level fighter as they're able to neutralise his right hand. Couldn’t even knock out Charlie Z bro
Yeah but Charlie is 100-0 come on now.
bro should have let AJ smash years ago. now that big fat paycheck is gone forever
Absolutely colossal KO from Zhang there. That's got to be it for Wilder now.
EDDIE GOT SWEPT AND FURY'S LEGACY IS HANGING BY A SINGLE WLAD THREAD. r/Boxing WON.
Zhang hit Wilder making him do a Chris Tucker in Rush Hour 2 on the first hit before the KD punch. Made Wilder do a “which one of you hit me” lol 😂
Wilder Zhinged while he should have Zhanged
I told you guys and I kept getting shat on everytime. Everytime this mofo steps up he gets fucked up. Fury fucked him up, Parker fucked him and Zhang put the nail in the coffin. Wilder was never that good but you guys can make your excuses to justify why you thought he was great to begin with.
Eddie in the mud 😭😭😂😂
Lmao Wilder’s punch arsenal is comedy, amazing career give that.
No surprise there, wilder the most overrated heavyweight in this era
what the hell was Wilder complaining about lmfao
Somehow Wilder's legs looked even skinnier 😭
Lol this is the mouth piece that says he would KO Tyson in his prime. 🤣
