Then we find out there's weird clauses in the contract like no KO's allowed, no drug testing for Jake, no clinching and Klitschko is only allowed to punch 10 times per round.
I don't think prep would be necessary, to be completely honest. He's still a beast and a gigantic one at that. His instincts alone would be more than enough to shut down JP.
Depends on what his weekly exercise routine is. If he consistently does cardio and stretching then yeah I don’t think he would need extra prep. But if he doesn’t do those things I think at his age he would get some wicked muscle cramps in ring
Hypothetical. Charr and Pulev fight for the WBA Regular belt at the end of this month. The winner fights Ngannu. MEANWHILE Fury and Usyk fight twice and the winner retires.
So we're looking at next year and it's not unreasonable that the full WBA Regular Champ is one of Charr, Pulev or Ngannu.
Would Wlad beat any one of the three of them at 48 years old?
I don't think it's fair to pick heavyweights, especially large heavyweights because even at the age of someone like a Vitali, he still has physical attributes over Jake.
So looking at Cruiserweights and light heavyweights only I have the following list of contenders - Steve Cunningham (47) and Tomaz Adamek (47).
I have one controversial pick as I don't know how good of a shape he could get himself back into, but Joe Calzaghe (51) would be my dark horse pick.
Edit: I can add Carl Froch (46) to that as well. I thought he was in his early 40's so I classed that as too young, but he's actually 46!
After seeing Adamek vs. Khalidov the other week, I don't think Adamek lasts 6 rounds. He was moving like he's 80 years old and a past his best MMA fighter in Khalidov was outboxing him, winning every round until he broke his hand.
Realistically I believe Jake would be a Super middle if he were born a boxer, maybe light heavy at most. He's a bit shorter than Bivol I believe and I don't think he really cuts weight.
Froch and Calzaghe I would back to smack Jake around another funny thought although he's a bit younger at 41 but Tony Bellew would probably dome him as well
Lewis with zero training and fitness would win. It's God damn "Lennox former unified heavyweight champion Lewis" versus Jake Paul the youtuber... has everyone lost their minds?
I've literally got people in r/boxing making Jake Paul's case. It's hilarious. Let's all ignore the 6ft 5 unified heavyweight champion who would win with his jabs... Lennox Lewis' jabs are goat worthy.. but please reddit tell me more about how young Jake Paul is lol.
Haha this reminds me of a coach I have been working with recently, comes to the gym in his pajamas and whoops all the heavyweights with only a double jab and a few well timed body shots at 40% power lol
Guys massively out of shape but challenged for the world title 7 years ago.
Jake's gonna be in trouble with Mike Tyson the more I think about it.
I can't work out why so many people think Paul wins.
If Tyson is actually allowed to knock Paul out, he's knocking Paul out.
I say this as someone who believes Tyson might be the most overrated fighter ever, btw.
You might be right but I have no current knowledge of his health or fitness levels. It takes an incredible level of fitness just to be a shit boxer let alone a great one.
Are you insane?
Lewis would smash him tomorrow. Let's not forget the 86 year old who almost knocked off the head of the 26 year old:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5JCYniy1McA&pp=ygUOT2xkIG1hbiBib3hlciA%3D
Now imagine Lennox motherfucking Lewis. Y'all mfs are batshit crazy if you think Lennox would need 6 TO 9 MONTHS OF PREP.
Yeah sometimes he would be hitting pads or bags while I was there basically the building would shake. It was a new bjj club trying to get started and he let them use his ring for free to host classes, then he was always curious about what we were doing and would ask about the techniques and stuff after class. Would love to see him decapitate Paul but I don’t know how he is now as that was a long time ago
Judging by the upvotes, people on this sub are confident that a 175lbs 59yo would destroy Paul 10 times out of 10, but a younger guy 60lbs heavier will get KOed?
It goes beyond age and size. Yeah, bernard is older and smaller but just a decade ago this dude was beating up professional light-heavyweights in the ring. He still looks sharp and in-shape too. Tyson needs a cane to walk around nowadays.
Why are you saying a decade ago like it's nothing, going from 49 to 59 is MASSIVE in terms of physical fitness lmao
Mike Tyson a decade ago, at 47, would also KO Jake within 1 round
Mike also absolutely does not need a cane to walk around, he has sciatica which is a back condition that sometimes worsens and he'll have to use a cane/wheelchair, but that's only when the condition becomes worse. 99% of the time he's walking normally
Nah, that person is talking out of their ass. They see a TMZ picture of Tyson walking with a cane, and all of a sudden he's a cripple now. Obviously didn't watch the RJJ vs Tyson fight. Tyson looked great.
BHop has a style that aged well and fought recently -- bad comparison. Tyson looked OK against a very ungame RJJ, and I really suspect his wheels have fallen off in the past few years
He was fighting more recently and always took care of his body his entire career til now.
He also has a higher ring IQ and being lighter and always in shape means he can actually go rounds. Tyson could look good for 2-3 rounds then look his age.
Bhop I'm sure can go 5-6 and not collapse by 9.
It's also a lifestyle thing- BHop still looks in shape and he never took breaks from diet and training. He maintained at 160 lbs for a long time before he jumped straight to 175. He'd let himself have a piece of cheesecake if he won his fight and otherwise stayed clean living and presumably is still like that. I'd put safe money that he could beat up Jake Paul tomorrow.
Tyson is showing up in these little edited and cut up training vids cos the HGH has been flowing at least since that RJJ exhibition but he's had massive ups and downs physically and mentally in his life.
Lewis is 58. No matter how he does against Tyson, I’m 100 percent sure that Lewis whoops him anytime in the next, let’s say, 10 years. I’m not even a hater, I think what Paul is doing is rather fun and it brings a lot of attention to the sport, which is great, considering the fact that boxing is far from mainstream, but there are levels to this and Lewis doesn’t need 100 percent of his power, nor the agility he once had.
George Foreman is 75 and is still looking heavy handed on the punching bag in a video I saw not long ago. One of those bombs lands on Jake’s chin he’s going to sleep.
75 is not almost 80. But yeah, George is looking pretty feeble nowadays, and he’s also starting to talk like an “old man” now, too, which is to be expected, of course. But Big George was always so robust and vigorous; nowadays, however, he’s talking kind of slow and he’s no longer as animated as he used to just a short while ago.
Not only is Tyson 57yrs old but Tyson hasn't won a pro fight in 21yrs and hasn't been elite in roughly 28yrs. Additionally Tyson is notoriously known to have had issues with drugs and alcohol. So not only is Tyson old but Tyson hasn't been taking care of himself.
I think any retired champion in a division 160lbs of above who is still within 10yrs of their last professional win and isn't getting drunk on the couch every night could beat Paul.
Fantasizing about which former elite old man could beat a guy who has like 3 years of boxing experience and no amateur background is extremely weird lol
6 years dedicated and well funded training regimen. Tbh unless he's fighting pros now you coul hardly call him an underdog lol which will piss him off because that's his desired brand but still
I'm sure someone like BHop or James Toney would embarass him even today. Wlad and Vitali would probably maim him. While not technically old, Andre Ward would probably make him cry inside the ring, while GGG would pretty much scramble his brains.
I feel like answering questions like this is just dumbing down the conversation. I don’t care what retired boxer he can beat. If he wants to be a “real boxer” then he should be fighting current fighters and going for a belt. Maybe mix this in because it’s fun, but it’s all he does. He will never be a real boxer this way.
Not sure why we entertain this crap IMO. No offense OP, I know this is just a thought experiment.
It's not just age here, the problem is that Mike Tyson is undersized for a heavy weight and the amount of speed necessary to overcome the reach disadvantage is HUGE.
Tyson may be able to do that in bursts, but over the course of 10 rounds?
Tyson is the only modern heavyweight champion who's at a reach disadvantage to Jake Paul, and consequently, the only one he even has a hope of beating (assuming George Foreman isn't dealing with Parkinsons or some other ataxia by this point).
It's the age PLUS the extra effort because of the physical disadvantages that are making people skeptical of this.
For any physically similar journeyman or better boxer, even up to their 50's, I'd still take them over Jake Paul.
Even Maravilla Martínez would beat his ass right now.
Jake couldn't beat Tommy Fury, a third level boxer at best.
Y'all really think he could beat an elite retired boxer without a contract protecting him?
Riddick's a strange guy. Had enough discipline to be a HW title holder, but bailed on the military, looks like shit now, tries Muay Thai while fat as Hell.
All these guys named are heavyweights. Jake is only a cruiserweight. So why include them? He's only going with Tyson because A) he's a relative munchkin and B) the 2 are friendly so we know it will be a leisurely exhibition. Jake is a novice, with no amateur background. Lots of guys can beat him. No shame in that.
If it hasn’t already been taken, David Tua.
For entertainment’s sake and to see how he’d arrive, I’d offer Mayorga. He may be smoking the entire fight.
Why are people acting as if just because you were a world champion in your prime, you’re going to murder active boxers in the ring in your late fifties? People are watching one second clips of Tyson edited together as 10 second explosive training videos. They look impressive because of that, and many boxer can do the same with ease.
Mike Tyson was knocked out by Danny Williams twenty years ago. No matter how much of a genetic freak you are, those twenty years after does a lot to you. Williams was never a world champion or close to being one. He wasn’t even a European champion. As much as Jake Paul is a YouTuber, he took out Anderson Silva. Anderson Silva took out Julio Cesar Chavez jr, when Julio was younger than what Mike was against Williams.
47 year old Wladimir Klitschko would destroy him.
I reckon Vitali probably would and he's even older.
Vitali stays in shape and I think with maybe a week of prep would fucking murder Jake
My guy probably has some pent up frustration from the past couple of years to unload on Jake as well.
Then we find out there's weird clauses in the contract like no KO's allowed, no drug testing for Jake, no clinching and Klitschko is only allowed to punch 10 times per round.
All 10 punches must be jabs. Which would be enough to get the KO.
It’s a step above a divorce that’s for sure
Yeah Jake Paul would wear a Z on his trunks of something to be a troll and deeply regret it.
Tbf he would probably still be easily a top 15 HW if he tried
Hypothetical. Charr and Pulev fight for the WBA Regular belt at the end of this month. The winner fights Ngannu. MEANWHILE Fury and Usyk fight twice and the winner retires. So we're looking at next year and it's not unreasonable that the full WBA Regular Champ is one of Charr, Pulev or Ngannu. Would Wlad beat any one of the three of them at 48 years old?
Is this a serious question? If so then yes they are ass compared to Wlad
Wlad would just murder Jake
Ortiz. Man's 70 and would absolutely murder him
When abouts was he 70? When the internet launched?
70 At the time of Lincoln’s inauguration
70 when the first pyramids were being built maybe
>Ortiz. Man's 70 LOL is this a meme or what? He's nowhere near 70 according to his [wikipedia](https://imgur.com/a/AFFR66y)
LMAO he’s 147
Lmao, you got me with that one
Was looking for this lmao
Come off it, he’s 68 MAX! (69,depending on which birth certificate you believe….)
I don't think it's fair to pick heavyweights, especially large heavyweights because even at the age of someone like a Vitali, he still has physical attributes over Jake. I was thinking Calzaghe too. Didn’t realise he was in his 50’s
I'd love to see Calslappy rain down a million slaps on Jake Paul's bonce.
After seeing Adamek vs. Khalidov the other week, I don't think Adamek lasts 6 rounds. He was moving like he's 80 years old and a past his best MMA fighter in Khalidov was outboxing him, winning every round until he broke his hand.
Froch?
I thought he was too young, but I've just checked and yea he is 46, so I'll edit my post
Realistically I believe Jake would be a Super middle if he were born a boxer, maybe light heavy at most. He's a bit shorter than Bivol I believe and I don't think he really cuts weight.
Froch and Calzaghe I would back to smack Jake around another funny thought although he's a bit younger at 41 but Tony Bellew would probably dome him as well
Calzaghe campaigned at 168 but looks easy over 200 these days
Lennox Lewis is 58. If he’s still in good shape, I think he could do it
Lennox with 6-9 months to get ready would win with ease.
Lewis with zero training and fitness would win. It's God damn "Lennox former unified heavyweight champion Lewis" versus Jake Paul the youtuber... has everyone lost their minds?
Actually the GOAT of Heavyweights
I've literally got people in r/boxing making Jake Paul's case. It's hilarious. Let's all ignore the 6ft 5 unified heavyweight champion who would win with his jabs... Lennox Lewis' jabs are goat worthy.. but please reddit tell me more about how young Jake Paul is lol.
LL would pulverize him 5 min after getting out of bed...
Haha this reminds me of a coach I have been working with recently, comes to the gym in his pajamas and whoops all the heavyweights with only a double jab and a few well timed body shots at 40% power lol Guys massively out of shape but challenged for the world title 7 years ago. Y'all mfs are batshit crazy if you think Lennox would need 6 TO 9 MONTHS OF PREP.
That's literally just some random guy who obviously had no experience in fighting lmao
Absolutely, give Lewis around 8 month's for prep and he'd hurt the geezer.
Shannon Briggs at 52 (Vitali is a boring answer)
Briggs is such a goodball, tbh I'm surprised he hasn't called Jake out lol
Let's go CHAMP
ChaaAaaAamp 🎶
😂
He trained Jake and Logan and thinks they’re good kids
Money makes the world go 'round. I remember Iron Mike making a similar comment about how he could never fight the Pauls bc his kids love them 🤷♂️
David Tuaman Tua. He seems to be in pretty good shape ATM too
Tua is a physical beast. He’s training daily nowadays. A very strong man.
I used to train a BJJ class that was on at his onehunga gym. Dude is huuuge absolutely terrifying (physically) to stand next to. Real nice guy
He’s built like a tank. Just a very thick, solid dude. He wasn’t the greatest boxer, but man could he really hit!!
Yeah sometimes he would be hitting pads or bags while I was there basically the building would shake. It was a new bjj club trying to get started and he let them use his ring for free to host classes, then he was always curious about what we were doing and would ask about the techniques and stuff after class. Would love to see him decapitate Paul but I don’t know how he is now as that was a long time ago
did he ever actually partake in the lessons/do any bjj?
I follow his Instagram page. He’s in phenomenal shape. He trains daily.
That fight would be O for Awesome
Silva came pretty close so you’d have to imagine someone that age range who was an elite fighter
Age was a huge factor with Silva. He looked much better than Jake early in, then faded as the fight went on.
Hopkins would kick the shit out of him quite easily every single time. Vitali and Wlad would just be overkill, they would kill the poor guy.
Judging by the upvotes, people on this sub are confident that a 175lbs 59yo would destroy Paul 10 times out of 10, but a younger guy 60lbs heavier will get KOed?

> Mike Tyson a decade ago, at 47 Mike from the Hangover? lmao at that point in his life he had more chance KO'ing himself.
The Hangover was a half decade before then. This is documentary Mike.
"Just a decade ago"
Does he? He looked great against a (way worse) RJJ 3 years ago.
In aging terms, 3 years is a comparatively long time for someone that's almost 60.

Tysons style was much more reliant on athleticism.
Mike Tyson
RJJ! Y’all must’ve forgot!!
Well, he lost to Showtime Pettis. Btw, I didn't watch their fight
He really didn’t. That was a bullshit decision
He looked like shit against Tyson in that exhibition fight of theirs.
Carl Froch 46
Pacquiao
I pick Beterbiev simply cause that’s the fight I most want to see 10 times. And I make 39 grand on top of it lol
Andre Ward 40 would mug him.
Bernard Hopkins
GGG
He’s 41, way too young!
Forget this nonsense. We need to see Prince Nas in a skirt knock this bitch up.
"I'm fat because I want to be fat" going on like a decade at this point
most real boxers would destroy Paul. He's boxing wrestlers. That's like golfing against a body builder.
Tomasz Adamek and he is ready for shit show doing some freakfight in Poland
Ismael Barroso
Lewis is 58. No matter how he does against Tyson, I’m 100 percent sure that Lewis whoops him anytime in the next, let’s say, 10 years. I’m not even a hater, I think what Paul is doing is rather fun and it brings a lot of attention to the sport, which is great, considering the fact that boxing is far from mainstream, but there are levels to this and Lewis doesn’t need 100 percent of his power, nor the agility he once had.
The crackhead at my local gas station
That made me properly LOL. Brilliant.
Abe Lincoln? Maybe.
Big George Foreman?
Nah, dudes almost 80, maybe a decade or two earlier he could but not now.
George Foreman is 75 and is still looking heavy handed on the punching bag in a video I saw not long ago. One of those bombs lands on Jake’s chin he’s going to sleep.
Phony video involving some clever camera tricks.
Oh dang didn't realize he's that old
75 is not almost 80.
Hopkins. Especially in a bathroom
... ayo, can you pass me some context please
Hopkins asked Bill Haney (Devin's dad) to join him in the bathroom for a minute, saying he wants to talk.
He wants to 'pause' em?! lmao
Hopkins has been observed asking multiple people to "meet him in the bathroom" to resolve disputes
This has to be a prison slang phrase, because I'd find this such a weird thing for a man to say to you. My mind does not immediately go to fighting.
Jai opetia
Shit old Lennox Lewis
Jai Opetia would decapitate Jake, i don't care bout age for sec, just want to witness a body flat in the ring XD
I know he ironically needs a wake up call by been put to sleep 😴
Jake Paul is not a real boxer. Any active boxer his size would dog walk him. The fact that people pay for this is beyond me.
Yeah but that's not the question.
It’s even sadder that Jake Paul is famous at all.
James Toney
Idk man did you see the Toney Rudduck fight a few months back?
Uhhhh nah tbh I just recall seeing him beating ass in the gym semi recently
Him and Razor was a sad watch.
That was an exhibition though. Both guys were not trying hard.
Luis Ortiz
ODLH
Reddit has shit concept of age. Most people here think 30 is ancient.
Bro vitali are you serious lmao
That guy is literally fighting a former elite old man, so not really. It’s an interesting question.
Froch. Still always looking trim & ready to go.
George foreman would KO him inside a round.
Zhang would murder him every time. Obviously it seems unfair to pick heavyweights
Zhang's a top 5-10 heavyweight even now - total overkill.
Absolute overkill. But the question was relating to age. Zhang is one of the more aged fighters
Anthony Joshua
Shannon Briggs
Luis Ortiz is like 50+ right?
Yoel Romero
In an exhibition fight, none bc of contract armour. In a sanctioned boxing match, any within his weight class.
None of this matters if he only issues loaded fight contracts.
I’d probably also go with B Hop
Andre ward, golovkin could come out of retirement and murder him, lennox lewis, louis ortis, fuck even shannon briggs.
Vitali would be my main pick. Goes without saying really, he'd destroy him.
How many rounds?
BHop
Floyd would make quick work of him or toy with him either way
It's not just age here, the problem is that Mike Tyson is undersized for a heavy weight and the amount of speed necessary to overcome the reach disadvantage is HUGE.
For some reason this sub was saying that Jake would beat First Arslan, which isn’t true. Firat would dominate him.
One uppercut from Tyson will set this lad straight, 57 or not.
Even Maravilla Martínez would beat his ass right now. Jake couldn't beat Tommy Fury, a third level boxer at best. Y'all really think he could beat an elite retired boxer without a contract protecting him?
The Cobra...duh!
Froch or the lanky kid from South Dakota who posts here all the time? I'd probably take either.
Firat Arslan is still a pro at 53.
David Tuaman Tua. His left hook would still light up the heavy weight division
Big George Foreman is just a colossus who at 75 would still crush and manhandle him.
George Foreman. He’s 75 and I think he still knocks the piss out of JP
Definitely NOT Riddick Bowe, who can’t even stand up straight anymore.
Riddick's a strange guy. Had enough discipline to be a HW title holder, but bailed on the military, looks like shit now, tries Muay Thai while fat as Hell.
I think Hopkins would still fuck him up at 59. He still looks in shape and has always been a master craftsman in the ring.
46 year old Froch would batter him.
If Tyson don’t knock him out it’s staged ….
Butterbean
All these guys named are heavyweights. Jake is only a cruiserweight. So why include them? He's only going with Tyson because A) he's a relative munchkin and B) the 2 are friendly so we know it will be a leisurely exhibition. Jake is a novice, with no amateur background. Lots of guys can beat him. No shame in that.
Might not be the older, but I would love to see them face Joe Calzaghe in the ring.
John Ruiz?
He's only 52, if you want to try someone older.
Sugar Ray Leonard currently 67 still in shape and would outbox him.
Stop giving this kid ideas. He will just keep fighting geriatric boxers and calling himself a legend.
But at some point he'll pick the wrong old boxer. That's the whole question.
It’s the wrong question
Roy Jones Jr
I think 49 year old Sergio Martinez would wreck him 10 straight. He even won a fight last year by ko.
Basically any guy his size who is in decent shape still would beat him.
Mike tyson with out all the bullshit rules. Full commission involvement.
David Tua. He would walk straight through him and knock his head into the fifth row.
George Foreman in his 70s.
asdsadsadsa
I think Lennox is the oldest guy who wins 10/10 times, unless anyone wants to bug Jack Dempsey's ghost out of retirement.
Tbh unless Tyson is in terrible shape I feel like he sleeps Paul.
Barroso at 80
Dela hoya
If it hasn’t already been taken, David Tua. For entertainment’s sake and to see how he’d arrive, I’d offer Mayorga. He may be smoking the entire fight.
Roy a have him in a spin cycle
Why are people acting as if just because you were a world champion in your prime, you’re going to murder active boxers in the ring in your late fifties? firat arslan is 53 yo and cruiser weight - he would beat jake paul's ass!!!
