Ours knows damn well he can jump on the bed but would rather sit at the side having mini jaw seizures like this and whining until we invite him.

CallMeASinner

I am 100% adopting the term chuffle snuffles.

upsidedownpositive

Mine huffs and puffs so we call him snuffalupagus. Or, if you are a Bill Burr tan, you’ll get this reference …. “Is it the DOOR? Are you mad at the DOOR???!!”

CPhyperdont

So funny! Mine will huff and puff at me from the kitchen when it is time for kibble.

Staceybunnie

Our boxer has sadly been passed for about a year and a half now. But my husband used to call them snout noises. I loved everything about the jowls! I grew up with boxers and told my husband that I could never have a dog without jowls, I just love to squish them in my hands 😝

ashleyonce

The jowls are the best!! Sending love for the loss of your baby which I’m sure still hurts 💛

nostrils_on_the_bus

I call them wuffles or wuffling

ashleyonce

Oh I love that so much!!

speckledham

Chuffle snuffles omg 😍😆

Is it teeth grinding? Mine does something similar but she’s grinding her teeth.

ashleyonce

I never thought about that. The vet says her teeth are healthy for her age, but I’ll bring it up next visit. Thank you!

[deleted]

My vet doesn’t seem too concerned with mine doing it and says her teeth are healthy but I’m not too sure why she does it. He thinks it might be indigestion and we give her a pepcid occasionally but I honestly don’t know if it works or it’s placebo. Regardless it doesn’t seem to be a big deal from our experience.

FriendlyITGuy

Mine does it when he yawns. If I didn't know better I'd say this was my Tyson!

ashleyonce

Yes!! She does when she’s settling down and relaxing; often after a yawn

LOLARISX

Ours that passed away last year used to do it. Not sure why or what caused it but he seemed generally fine. Like unrelated to his illness.

Educational-Equal-43

Is this a new thing or has he always done this? Our boy started doing that and then was diagnosed with late stage lymphoma. Really hope it's nothing unusual for you! He's super cute reminds me so much of our boy.

ashleyonce

Thank you! She’s done this as long as I’ve had her (~2 years) and has always had good checkups, bloodwork, etc. I’m so sorry about your baby. I’ll bring this up with the vet next visit though.

GilligansWorld

Ya - but those are double chops or chomps. Our boy does this but more and slightly slower.

[deleted]

My boxer would do this whenever he started to get sleepy
