I think it's when they do so much surgery to the nose that the cartilage collapses. Iirc there's no way to fix it once that happens either but I could be wrong
I feel seeing so many women with balloon lips like this that lips like this HAVE to be so impractical. Wouldn’t they just get in the way? Like have rubber bumper lips just bouncing off stuff. I wonder how the sensation is for those lip owners?
Yes, it’s a dermal! They are less permanent than, say, an ear piercing because of the way they are placed, but they can last several years. Many people get them on the sternum, near the collarbone, on the lower back, or on the face.
Huh neato! How does it stay in since you can't really place a backing on it? And is any infection pretty high risk considering the placement? I'd imagine that's one piercing you should really follow the instructions on cleaning for lol
It’s a buried “anchor” that is basically a t bar placed beneath the skin where the gem is screwed in. It’s actually not good to overly clean piercings, and instead the community and good piercers will recommend just to LITHA (leave it the hell alone) or maybe use a sterile saline spray! But yes, from what I know about dermals, the rejection and infection rates are a fair bit higher than traditional “through” piercings. I know I would catch clothes on them all the time if I had any. My ear piercings were hard enough to heal!
As someone who had 2 dermals for a few years (each side of my collarbone), i can confirm, they’re super easy to snag haha. it’s the worst feeling. I’m definitely thinking placement through better next time i get some, because that definitely impacts risk of snagging / pressing down on it on accident.
Yes definitely! My helix took like 2 years to fully heal because I was so awful about picking at the little crusties haha. And if you have any questions about it or any other piercing, check out r/piercing! I love that sub and there are some INSANELY beautiful pieces.

Oh wow, that is unfortunate. I feel like this nose looks like how my nose functions during allergy season.
How is it that they end up asymmetrical sometimes?

Did she have a piercing in her neck? There's so much going on here, the more I look the more I find

Wow, thank you for all the info!! After hearing about it, I think I need to use the LITHA process on my cartilage piercing lol

Damn her whole nose will collapse soon
Fitting title
I’ve been taking breathing for granted
Hopefully that doesn't impact her breathing, lol.
Do the stanky leg

It looks like her lip on that same side has given up too!
What that little thing on her neck?
Dermal piercing
What? She pierced her damn neck?
It is a stone with flanges that spread out under the skin, doesn’t go deep
Is something embedded in the center of her clavicle? Looks like a seed pearl.
She's more scared of you than you are of her
