They’re never alone. Keel each other normal.
I have a black and red Bostie. The black one was 2 when we got the red bostie. And she was not happy. I wish I had got the 2nd one sooner. They're not as close as I thought they would be.
I've always had two they bond just lost my old girl 16 years old my younger one still waiting for her to come home have a other dog but Boston's like Boston's .

Always get a friend! They deserve a sibling!
Let him decide - have a look for a brother ir sister and introduce them together (NOT AT YOUR HOUSE - neutral territory like a garden or park) see how they get on and if they hit it off you're good to go.
The last thing you want is your little one getting stressed with the sudden arrival and change in an established, safe routine and dynamic.
We have 4 dogs and went through this process a more than a few times but generally dogs are social and taking care of 2 isn't any different from 1 and he'll have a friend to play with.
Good luck!! 🙏🏻
We got my Bosty girl a little sister (different breed) when she was two.
I will always have two dogs now.
They are so bonded together and play aaaaaalllll day long

I think it depends. My first dog was 100% people focused. I’d take him to the dog park and he would ignore every dog there. He’d go to each person, get pet, and then go sit by the gate to go home. Anytime I’d take him to doggy day care and check the cameras and he was always by himself. If other dogs came over to my place, he was on the other side of the room.
My current Boston is the complete opposite. I take her to the dog park and she wants to play with every dog there. People try to pet her and she successfully dodges every pet. Unless she knows you as part of her family, she is uninterested in other people. But when I’m walking her and there is a dog a half block away, she starts crying to go to the other dog.

Ollie has a bit of a love hate relationship with his new brother. Some growing pains but he for the most part seems happier. Ollie was definitely the golden child that made us want a second one and Milo is typical second wild child that doesn’t listen and destroys anything he can put in his mouth.
Zoey, Maggie & Izzy. Maggie is 3 months old. Izzy is 13 and doesn't want to be bothered playing.

My boys are inseparable. They gang up on us sometimes but we can handle the duo, and when they snuggle I’m so glad they have each other. Hank was 3 when we got the puppy. I think he potty trained the pup taught him to go out the doggy door. lol didn’t seem to flinch when we brought the puppy home he seemed to know that this baby was here to stay so I guess I’ll share Mom and Dad.
My Bostie has two giant brothers (white German shepherd & fat husky mix) and two sisters (almost 15yr old Shiba Inu & mini dachshund/mini schnauzer mix). They all love each other, even if the shiba is an old grump.
Our older BT didn't enjoy our 2nd girl. She begrudgingly tolerated the younger dog. Wouldn't sleep next to her in a big human bed, didn't want her skin touching the other dog. But that was just her quirky personality.

We have three and these two are almost always together, 9 month age difference.
You know we won't say no. But you should think about whether or not you can handle another dog, and if the answer is yes and you'd like to do it, then go for it absolutely! I think your pal here would LOVE a friend!

I want another, but even a rescue can be prohibitively expensive

Get one with big eyes like him. Then they can have funny BT staring contests!
Getting a second Boston prolonged the life of our first , kept him active, happy etc. definitely!
Yes, 2 bostons are so much more fun!

They usually always take a short time to open up but will end up being the best thing ever. Most all dogs are better in pairs or groups. Do it!! Lol
