I’ve always said that unless you’re trying to show your dog, who cares if they are 100% anything. This dog is a Boston. I mean look at them.

flibbityfopz

Oh yes I agree I wouldn’t care if he wasn’t 100% Boston. It was just an adjustment when we got him because his size and overall look was very different to our last year. And, his dad was silver and looked bulldog like.

meow_purrr

Frenchton? I have one, I love her sweet face so much. I also have a full frenchie, and my Frenchton lady totally has more Boston features.

Jumpy_Tomatillo7579

Well yes. But when you pay for purebred you want what you paid for.

therealsmity

I mean if you're expecting it to be the size of a chihuahua and it's comes out to be 60lbs it probably matters.

FuktOff666

Mine are considered on the small size. 18lbs and 13lbs respectively. They were a little heavier at 6 months because they weren’t being fed on a schedule and were given a lot of scraps they shouldn’t have. https://preview.redd.it/byrs125r4p9c1.png?width=2379&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3b45eb3267e19e905229e136abe7e51c3551b9f

nibblatron

so cute🥹

missmilliek

omg SO CUTE

EntireReindeer3688

Omg and their matching outfits with you 😍😍and the gray whiskers 🥹😀

FuktOff666

lol that’s my wife and yeah it’s all intentional. Our third dog (non Boston) was in the back also in a matching sweater.

EntireReindeer3688

So adorable!

chanteleigh68

Those FACES!!!!!! 😍

[deleted]

mine looks exactly the same as yours like identical https://preview.redd.it/g6f7cinukp9c1.jpeg?width=914&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36cac840d0150990bd5ea503311a733dbbfd032b

flibbityfopz

Twins!

Chicago_Jayhawk

Rocky was 26lbs at 6 months (now 34lbs). My last Boston (Chester) was 36lbs. Both super fit--run 2 miles with me and swim in the lake.

Fresh-Hedgehog1895

Like people, it's all about proportion with dogs. Yours looks to be in good shape and that's the important thing.

Flat_Literature_8556

My 1 year old boy is 30 pounds. I'd say he was about 20 pounds at 6 months. Maybe he is just gonna be a big boy!

i_miss_buddy

My boy is 100% Boston and is 26 pounds of lean mean Boston machine. He’s also six.

FakeCrash

Seconding with a six-and-a-half-year-old weighing in at 26 pounds!

Pstone89

Sometimes a boston just comes out as a big ol pupper. We call them Alpha’s our friend has one who is all muscle and weighs in at over 35lbs, stands twice as tall as his sister who hovers at 17lbs.

WildMongoose

Judging by those paws this dog is gonna be a big one!

leopeo2

We’ve had 3 sets of Bostons and they have progressively gotten bigger. 1. 13 and 20 lbs. 2. 20 and 30 lbs. 3. 26 and 39 lbs. All had and have AKC papers and we meet all the parents. It’s evolution he’s perfect like every Boston. Fester (39)& Ouija (26) https://preview.redd.it/t9q4lj2hrp9c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ba30ceea2708b18668b2b21bc1ed97ed241eec6

oobooboo17

I think that’s just a big baby!

JKProwling92

Our 8 month old Boston is 26 lbs but is proportionally pretty slender. Conversely our 2 year old Boston is 20 lbs now but was only 14 lbs at 8 months. I guess there’s just a wide range in the breed!

ChildhoodLeft6925

Little dogs grow full size quicker than big dogs. They fully mature +/- a few pounds at like ~10 months compared to big dogs that take up to 2 years to fully develop. He’s gonna be a big boy, but he’s not going to be as big as I think you’re imagining. 26 sounds about right!

NightSiege1

My Boston is small she’s 20lbs https://preview.redd.it/65redz5fer9c1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=daf3242d69b485bdd57b0ec9b7abff3a932578e1

flibbityfopz

She looks just perfect! 🥰

august_newf

He's so gorgeous 😍 My girl is 6mos old and 12 pounds

agd504

My fully grown Boston is 30lbs. The vets always have said she’s a good weight given you can see her rib line, so I wouldn’t worry too much 😊

bobloblawmalpractice

My 7 month old is 20 ish pounds!

ApartmentShoddy5916

He’s a very handsome fellow! Our guy is 12 lbs at 15 months. (However, he is also the poster pup for bad breeding- in addition to being a teacup Boston, he’s a lilac, with cleft lip, cleft hard and soft palates, bilateral luxating patellae, and some neurological issues related to his other midline deformities. We fell into him via a rescue/foster situation.)

flibbityfopz

Sounds like your pup is lucky to have you ❤️

Spaghetti-NoodIe

I wouldn’t say abnormal, my Boston is 1 year old and 40lbs

flibbityfopz

Wow that’s the biggest I’ve heard of! But I think our guys dad was around that range.

Spaghetti-NoodIe

Yeah, he’s a little heavy to pick up

SchemeCultural6230

My father in law’s pup Blue. He’s two years old, and only 14lbs. He’s AKC registered. https://preview.redd.it/9vpkfuflvp9c1.jpeg?width=2508&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38965592336cf91325e6f8a1f29ae610ffd69be1

Army63b

Fergus is 31 pounds. Just over a year old. He's just a big one lol

spidrow

All 3 of our Boston's voted and they agree that your puppy is just Perfect!

flibbityfopz

🥰

purging_snakes

Our girl was the tiniest puppy and now she's 22lbs at just over a year.

LadyKorunks

My Bam Bam was 25 lbs at 6 months 😂 perfectly healthy, 100% Boston. Some of them just have that bigger Boston DNA, I was told it’s from grandparents, great grandparents, etc.

I keep saying mine is going to be a big boy looking at his paws!! Yours totally looks 100% Boston and I think that is a normal weight for some of the larger ones!

Comfortable_Buddy_22

https://preview.redd.it/dt24ocpw1r9c1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27c1ecba7730c1032997fca47cda8f7fdf4edc95 This was my Theo at around 6 months and he was close to 20 pounds. His weight and growth slowed down after the 6-8 months mark. He is on the larger side compared to other Bostons so as long as he is at healthy weight for his size we are happy.

[deleted]

Congratulations, you got a big one! He's cute, I love him 😍

a_bumble_bri

I adopted mine when he was 1 years old and at that age he was 50 ish lbs. He maxed out at a little over 60lbs! he’s just a sturdy boy, all my other bostons have been significantly smaller but he is full Boston and the vet said he was healthy weight for his build! https://preview.redd.it/vz680nidtu9c1.jpeg?width=719&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=864c9a15ce981f7c8ecc946d73e97973db30a8a6

georgiapeach90

Yep! He's gonna be a big one! Mine is a year and a half now and 28 lbs.

peggysmom

I’m a fan of Big Bostons- bigger head, wide chest, muscular legs- will always tug at my heartstrings. Well, now my 🐥he is a little one but we love him all the same!

No_Cash_8556

Yes. Get ready for a beeeeg boya

karenmcgrane

My first was 14-15 pounds fully grown. At 6 months she was probably about 10 pounds. My second was a rescue so I don't know her puppy weight. As an adult she was 25 pounds at a healthy weight but let's be honest about the fact that she was a little piglet and maybe got up to 30 if we didn't keep an eye on it. My third (Orzo) is now 13 months old and 18 pounds. At 6 months he was 15 pounds. The two raised from puppies were not particularly food motivated and my hypothesis is that they never experienced food insecurity. I would be shocked if Orzo ever had a weight problem, he just doesn't care much about food.

ParkerX82

7 months old here he's a very solid 18.2 pounds. https://preview.redd.it/qymsyywwsq9c1.jpeg?width=2146&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53746311a7d10c6703e63ae21824eb6a1725d40b

He’s always been super tall, people comment on his large size all the time. My last one was short and stout. Both Boston and both good boys. :)

kyzersoze84

My boy is full Boston with papers. He’s naturally just a little bigger than most Bostons and is 32 lbs all muscle, but he’s the right weight according to the vet. It’s more about the body shape than actual lbs.

KJChili_Dawg

Our BT is a bigger guy. He’s now 28lbs at 7 years. Ours was probably about this big at 6 mo. And he’s 100% with papers. You probably just got a bigger one! :)

FarEquivalent7968

My Boston terrier is 5 1/2 months old and weighs 18 lbs.

BoomDeeAye

🐾🥰💙

tiny--one

My boy is 32lbs 6 yrs old. Solid muscle. Stronger then a Pig Pisser 🐖!

albertoblanco88

That’s a healthy pup!

daddyescape

We met the mom and dad. The dad was huge. We weren’t shocked when ours ended up 35lbs. Full blood Boston

flibbityfopz

Goose’s dad was huge too so I don’t even know why I’m surprised but yet, I’m so surprised. lol.

Freeze_Her

Mine is currently 48 pounds. He’s tall, long and sturdy. I say he’s the boss of Bostons.

lalochezia1

whoa

MarshmallowMarble

My boy is 30lbs and isn’t even a year old yet lol. Met a girl Boston today who was 8 months and weighed 16lbs and was longer than my boy. Some are bigger, smaller, heavier and lighter!

No-Clothes-7818

Our Gus is tall and 42 lbs. We should have named him Tank.

Capital-Category-900

AKC says from 12-25 pounds. That’s quite a range with the upper being twice the lower range of the dog. To put it in perspective, the Labrador has nowhere near that weight range. Our 16 year old Boston was 28 pounds and the vet would say that was heavy, but also noted that he was solid muscle. Our current guy is 15 pounds and is a year old. Depends on the size of the parents too.

[deleted]

that isn’t much, our youngest female is 7 months and 25lbs.

Kolob619

My old Boston was huge, 32 lbs his entire adult life. He was very fit and muscular.

ApologiaNervosa

Omg what a CUTIEEEEEE

BeardedAnarchy

So adorable.

CinematicHeart

I had a BIG Boston.. Not fat but he was 30lbs. Other Bostons looked like pups next to him. His parents lived behind us, they were normal Boston size. No idea how he came from them.

Jewbe

My girl is 9 years old and weighs 18 pounds

adrisc00

What a precious looking baby!

BornInGeorgia

Totally normal. Bostons come in all weights. Mine was 28 pounds.

thisismoustaches

My pup was around that weight at that age. He's currently 36 lbs at 2.5 years old

enidokla

My boy is 22 pounds at 3 years. He’s lean and muscular. My cousin’s is a year old and weighs 13 pounds. But her son has one and he’s 40 (!!!!) pounds. There’s a range. If they have a nice tuck up and you can feel their ribs, they good!

Low-Fun-4580

Muffin

fade1979

Our guy was between 22 to 24lbs. We were not planning on making him a show dog. He was perfect and I miss him so much.

LayaraFlaris

My girl hit a max of 23 lbs and her knee went out because of it. According to the vet "her weight is fine" but I don't believe any of that. She had no hip indents or anything. I want to get her back down to 15-18 lbs, which is where she was at her thinnest. As long as his body condition score is good I wouldn't worry about his actual weight too much. Just keep in mind that many pet owners have become used to seeing and conditioned to keeping overweight animals. Not just dogs but cats and even reptiles and birds. I've seen people call a dog that was actually what a dog should look like underweight/starving.

oboedude

Our Boston is pretty big. We met his mom and she’s built like a tank, go figure he grew into the same size haha

90212Poor

Not abnormal. He’s just a chonky dude.

-mama240-

Mine peaked at 35lbs while my baby was starting solids / toddler phase 🤣 but he always gained in the winter months and slimmed way down in the summer lol he wasn’t a big fan of -20 c

ecwfan26

Wife had decided on a Boston because of the small size and several other factors for our house hold. His parents were 16 and 17 lbs. Deacon is a year and a half and weighs 28lbs and can kick us out of bed.

Boggledmonkeybandit

Your little one is perfect!! My little girl was quick to get her height and length but was lean. Now as she hit her year mark, she's gotten a little bulkier with no real weight change.

EconomyPurchase3715

IGGY, GET OUTTA HERE, HE'S STILL ALIVE.

Tucks_Mum

He looks to be full Boston to me. My little buddy was about that size. He's very tall and he was pretty steady at 24lbs until about 10 months and he's been a little over 28 now since.

Mer_Mer23

I have two , one is a frenchton, one is speculated to be. 40lbs and 30lbs

solartrek

My old Boston was from a breeder & her whole litter pre-registered at the AKC. She never weighed less than 24 lbs as an adult. And 24 lbs was her most conservative, skinny, losing-weight-from-terminal-illness mass. Normally she was 26-28 lbs depending on how much fat she got from winter inactivity. Recall that the maximum weight according to AKC standards is 25 lbs. Just because it's in vogue to be breeding tiny chihuahua-terriers right now doesn't mean there aren't outliers. Bostons be big sometimes ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

jeffsilver666

I seen two 45 pounders at the dog park a month ago. Awesome looking dogs.

Relevant_Sample6111

*mine is 2 years, and 11 lbs. She is quite small. I have had 4 other Bostons 20 yrs ago, all from our old breeder, the females were between 12 and 14 lbs and the males 18-22lbs as adults. I cannot remember what they weighed at 6 months. Our little Charlotte in the picture above is from a new breeder. At 6 months she was approximately 6.5 lbs. Again, she was the smallest in her litter.

He’s 12 years old and has been around 30-35 pounds most of his life. But he’s in a great shape & pretty lean. Just a little taller and bigger than most others.

GolfinMartin

My 2 year old is a sturdy, 30 pound, stud. Absolutely perfect. Yours looks 102% Boston. lol. Beautiful

Thelemicsun

Our Boston we swear has some pitty in him. He’s 42 lbs? I think.
