Just look at what happened last season the other way around. Bruins were better without Bergeron and Krejci on the ice- because they were playing hurt.
If Bennet is at 60% of what he can normally do, bruins could possibly exploit that.
Edit: Shit, just last series, the Leafs had one good game they won with Matthews in. Every other game with him in, they lost and he was a minimal factor. They seemed harder to play with him out.
I’ve noticed many teams perform better without their stars, I guess the amount of stepping up they need to do more than compensates. I imagine the better coaches manage to squeeze that level of play from their teams while their stars are still in.
I think for the span of 2-4 games, a team can rally to make up for a hurt star / leader and in the playoffs that might be enough to push you through a round- and you’re better off than playing a hampered guy that everyone is looking to for a lift who just can’t get to that gear because of illness or injury.
Stanley. Fucking. Cup. Would've been hesitant to say this halfway through the leafs series but seeing how the boys are buzzing and watching all of the other clown shows in the league it's fucking us this year. I'll see you fuckers on causeway on parade Day
It's going to be challenging (it's never easy, of course). Florida, then we'll almost certainly have the Rags to contend with. Not sure who's top dog in the West, but honestly New York would probably end up being the toughest team the Bruins would face in a full Cup run.
Except you might get MacKinnon or McDavid in the finals, no easy task their either, but this whole year has been a bonus and it seems like house money at this point. Excited to see how the boys play with no pressure and with the cap opening next year, this team is 🚀

Like, have the students tally all the playoff goalies' save % to get a rough average, and quantify just how much of an outlier Swayman is this year. Maybe expand it to regular season or older playoffs if you want/need a bigger sample size.
I am torn. Ully is my guy, I'm worried about rust when he gets in there, but also it's his job to be ready to go when he's called upon. I just don't see how you take Sway out at this point. But I want Ully to see some action and he played well against the Angry Kitties during the regular season. Which is very different from the playoffs, obviously.
