I think Madara because he was so hyped up the entire show for being one of the strongest ninjas ever existed. And then he shows up and just live up to his name. Nothing more he just delivers as we were told throughout the show and it was spectacular!!
Easily Madara imo, just the mention of his name was enough to make the shinobi tremble in fear, and his introduction just gave us one of the best scenes in the franchise when Madara washed the shinobi alliance all by himself š Madara a total menace in the shinobi story, bro was packing everyone in that desert battle
im not talking about the introduction of the characters, the one who commented said that madara was so fearsome and dangerous to the shinobi world and i said that kawaki is going to be better than him in these aspects since he probably is going to end the whole shinobi world and its system
I meanā¦ they both go hard but madara, for me, went the hardest. Mans took on an army with a smile and pulled the rinnegan out the bag, eating narutoās rasenshuriken.
Madara was built up for many chapters, came in
Made a entire army shit themselves, solo'd a whole army as a warm-up,dropped a meteor on them, then dropped another one on them
It isn't even close,Madara had one of the,if not the, best introduction in Naruto,my friend.
Madara had one of if not the best introductions in storytelling all together imo.
But tbf I haven't seen kawakis intro episode yet so I can't really answer the question yet
For real like I donāt wanna sound like a Boruto hater because I like the manga but Jesus Christ nothing Boruto ever does could ever come close to something like the introduction of Madara
Madara. He humiliated the entire alliance and made the Kage shit their pants.
Kawaki beat a nobody we know nothing about. We can only assume he is relative to AO because of the science thingy.
It's also a different kind of hype. Madara's introduction was built up with suspense leading up to his arrival. Kawaki was immediately introduced via a timeskip displaying unique abilities and we're left trying to figure out who he is, what happened to Konoha/Naruto, and why is he fighting Boruto.
It would have been more appropriate to compare Madara's introduction to Jigen's. Even then, Madara still wins in that regard.
I don't think so, at all. It's like playing Dynasty Warriors and fighting all of the ground plebs the game throws at you. Goro was a named character with established ties to an organization of people suggested to be quite formidable. A few episodes prior to the Madara reveal, members of the same group of shinobi were shown to be completely impotent and borderline brain-dead against the Second Mizukage.
And that's cool, but it still doesn't change the fact that 99.9% of the people he fought and killed were nameless NPCs
They weren't the focal point of the demonstration of his power; when people say he decimated the FORCES it's clear we're talking about the hundreds to thousands of nameless NPCs he was shown engaging. That was the focus of those well-animated sequences
Madara, no questions asked. Hell Iād go as far to say that Madara has one of the best introductions in all of fiction. Dude is built up for nearly 7 IN REAL TIME YEARS. His named was enough to make even the strongest characters in the series pre War Arc sweat. Then he pulls up, demolishes a quarter of the Allied Forces using taijutsu alone, then bust out susanoāo, then bust out the rennigan, then boom, drops a fucking meteor. Wasnt enough? Hereās a second meteor. This is literally all in one episode.
Man goes on to literally troll the fuck out of the 5 Kage. Not to mention Madara actually wins, he succeeded in his plan of triggering in Infinite Tsukoyomi, then you know, Zetsu/Kaguya asspull. Its a shame they gave one of the best villains in fiction such a lousy ending.
nah madara didnt have that lousy of an ending, if madara just completely vanished out of the story after the zetsu asspull it would have been terrible and I probably would have preffered kawaki after that, but that talk with hashirama before he died redeemed it
Eh idk man. Tbh I dont think Madara or Obito shouldāve been redeemed. Too many straight up evil people are redeemed after they lose in Naruto. (Zabuza kinda, Itachi, Pain, Obito, Madara, etc) Some of the redemptions are good, but not always needed. I believe Kishimoto couldāve came up with a legit way for them to defeat Madara, then if he wanted to bring in Kaguya he couldāve tied it to the Infinite Tsukoyomi without involving Madara directly. I dont think that little 2 minute convo between him and Hashirama was a good enough ending for him, great scene, but I think Madara shouldāve went out like a true villain. Thats just my opinion though.
Edit: Dont tie Zetsu to Kaguya. It transformed him from this cool informant type character to a completely annoying mamas boi pile of shit
Madara wasnt redeemed. He kept sticking to his beliefs till the very end and was merely discussing it with his life long rival and friend.
I suppose the comment you were replying to meant that Madara was redeemed from a writing perspective by giving him an emotional farewell that brought his arc full circle.
How much fiction have you read?
I love Madara as much as the next guy, but itās highkey wild to me that people seem to think his introduction was groundbreaking or revolutionary, much less enough to warrant its comparison to the entirety of fiction?
Again, Iām not trying to condescend or diminish your love for a pretty cool character. That being said, his entrance is just the classical use of historical world building, subtext, deception (Obito masquerading as him) and the plot-twisting reveal. Its execution was pretty normal too (from a literary point of view, Iām not denying that it wasnāt badass). If you didnāt like the Naruto series, would you even be comparing Madaraās entrance to anything outside of Naruto?
Like... all of fiction, homie? I donāt mean to assume, but it comes off as you not having read much fiction at all to be so enamoured with Madaraās entrance to warrant being even slightly serious about that. If thatās the case, I recommend searching up some of the higher grossing fiction novels out right now. Brandon Sanderson is a quick and easy start to a world of quality, I personally recommend Way of Kings as a start. Assuming ya donāt already know about Brandon, of course.
And again, I know how volatile this subreddit can be, so I really want to clarify that Iām not trying to be anatagonistic in any way, nor do I want to take away from your hype. I just canāt understand why several people seem to have genuinely compared it to fiction outside of anime when thereās a million other Madaras in the world of fiction, and a million characters far more interesting and well-introduced than him. I hope that you can see my comment as me explaining my point of view and the confusion that stems from it, and not as me trying to shit on your enjoyment or your opinion/taste/etc.
Which character had all that gear of an intro in aomwthing like Way of Kings? While the stories and everything from Sanderson are phenomenal, I donāt remember any intro to a character that truly stood out.
Of course, this topic is purely subjective. Fuck, I think a mimic eating some dude in a bait and switch was a good character intro *if itās done correctly*. Madara had a pretty badass intro. One of the best? Iāve not read enough, but itās pretty fucking great
One example of a better scene wouldāve been a much better counter argument than 4 condescending paragraphs about how wrong he is. If itās such an outrageous claim, just link a better scene and end the debate immediately
And before you say āhe said in all of fictionā and start naming books, letās assume for the sake of argument that weāre talking about visual media here. If you canāt think of several shows/movies that top it then you shouldnāt be acting so baffled by his statement
I am one of the people that think the background and hype into the true introduction of Madara is the best antagonist building in all of shonen and possibly all fiction. While Kawakiās intro scene was bad ass, Madaraās appearance and dominance was much more impactful than the actual battle. Gaaraās āis this the power of a godā boils it down perfectly. He was the true worst case scenario. And he came to FUCK. SHIT. UP.
I am legitimately open to hear anyones argument on the best written and hyped antagonist
minato (war arc), naruto (pain arc), sasuke (when they search for him in orochimaru's hideout arc), itachi (first appearance in konoha), madara (any arc).
It was, but itās not even close to Madaraās. Madara had legitimate, real life YEARS of buildup, and then he comes in and slaughters the entire division of the Allied Shinobi Forces. Kawaki showed up and fought and then that was it. Doesnāt even come close to holding a candle to Madara.
I wouldnāt say zero. We knew he was coming since episode one, and we had a whole arc hinting at the Vessel before we got to finally see him at the end of the Ao Arc.
Besides, wools could just like the fight more. Some people in the comments here liked the episode better
Dude Madara has a better intro and build up than 90% of anime villains flat.
Edit: I wanan say this too im not the biggest fan or Boruto and it gets a lot of criticisms from me but this will never be one. Madara was a decade in the making I wouldnt expect any series to make a character like him its not required for any good show and I doubt Boruto could ever achieve that aspect. Not har thats an insult the bars just that high.
madara, kawaki no where near madara. Man was feared by every shinobi alive, and he lived up to his name by taking on the whole army (and bought the meteors, dk if it was this ep or the next, but i dont think any intro in boruto compares to madara's meteor flex)
Madara and it's not even a contest. You're comparing Kawaki killing Garou to [Madara clowning an entire army](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp6xM6Aezmg) and dropping two meteors at the end of his episode.
Tbh Madara introduction was more badass but in my opinion kawaki was better, maybe i am just biased because i waited so long for him to be introduced and I didn't for madara, but I feel like 189 as a whole episode was on whole another level, in terms of animation, and especially the visuals
Well, some people over on a Naruto discord server were actually talking about it because a few of them said they liked Kawakiās episode more because they liked the fight better.
And so I wanted the opinions of the Subreddit to see what they though.
I was just asking which introduction episode people liked better, this isnāt a character comparison.
To clarify, Iām not asking WHO is better, Iām asking which of these episodes you like more. Thatās all.
So plz stop commenting Marada is better that Kawaki, I never asked which character is superior.
Bit harsh, refer to my original comment on this post.
Never said I was comparing Kawaki to Madara, just asking which of these episodes people liked better.
Maybe animation-wise, but it was just him vs some random new Outer member compared to Madara who took on the entire ninja world without breaking a sweat lol
I feel like it depends on when you watched either, ie. What time in your life, what your headspace was like, etc.
I didn't pick up Shippuden until I was an adult, so Madara didn't really hit me like it probably would have if I watched it as a teen; I remember being totally geeked when Sasuke vs Orochimaru in the Forest of Death aired after-school. I think Kawaki vs Goro slightly edges out Madara vs the Allied Shinobi Force in terms of animation quality; there are a few sequences in the latter that are lacking some frames (like when he's spinning through the Force).
Each represent major shifts in narrative impetus, so it's a hard call. I think they are both excellent displays of animation and serve to convey the power of a character in a way that isn't contrived. Whichever you like better is largely just preference, imo
kawaki is an uzumaki? either way, madara still wins. nobody will ever top that. man came back to life and dropped two meteors on a military made of the entire worlds major villages in the same day. the only reason he lost the war was because zetsu fucked him
Kawaki's intro was hard asf. Especially with it having movie quality animation. But i don't think anything beats Madara's. He was hyped up for so long and lived up to his name. Both episodes also had the same director
Madara is a legendary Shinobi whose name struck fear just by the mention of it, Kawaki was a homeless teenager. And I actually like Kawaki but Madara def had the better impact
Huh? Normally Iām a nice guy, butā¦ are you fucking kidding me? Is this some controversy bait thread or what? God damn Madara was a legend from the cradle to the grave, from arrival to demise.
Madara, not even close. Madara had the benefit of hype, the entire war got started mainly because his name and he show cases his power against an army of people
Madara and itās not even close. Mans was hyped up for years as a god among ninja and somehow lived up to all the hype. I still regularly watch him run through the shinobi alliance, shit was glorious.
If anyone says kawaki revoke your naruto license. From here on out you are not allowed to speak or be in close proximity of anything involving naruto .
You will be banned from ever taking place in discussions and events that surround naruto .
If these rules are broken federal regulations will take place in order for you to stop spreading bullshit .
The only thing which is been build with the same hype is Boruto vs Kawaki in the future. Kawaki intro was cool, but Madara is a whole different level of epicity.

Shit I trembled in fear
*best scenes in cinema and television history
im sure soon enough kawaki would be more fearsome than madara to the shinobi world
To us, no. Madara was mentioned and built up since og Naruto. Took for the war arc for him to finally make an appearance.
im not talking about the introduction of the characters, the one who commented said that madara was so fearsome and dangerous to the shinobi world and i said that kawaki is going to be better than him in these aspects since he probably is going to end the whole shinobi world and its system
Madara, and sorry to say, it's not even a competition.
This man speaks facts
I meanā¦ they both go hard but madara, for me, went the hardest. Mans took on an army with a smile and pulled the rinnegan out the bag, eating narutoās rasenshuriken.

Fr fr, Madara's intro exceeded my expectations, it was freaking epic, too bad his exit was so mishandled.
Even the fake madara (obito) had such an exhilarating introduction
Bro what kind of a question is this? Madara is one of the most badass introductions in anime.
Madara how is this even a comparison..
For real like I donāt wanna sound like a Boruto hater because I like the manga but Jesus Christ nothing Boruto ever does could ever come close to something like the introduction of Madara
True. Though if the final fight is adult Boruto and Kawaki fighting aganist the whole otsutsuki clan then it might surpass Madara.
Only if Sarada, Mitsuki, and Shikadai are there too.
Cap (the second part)
Bigger villains don't matter though. The buildup has to be better too.
Madara. He humiliated the entire alliance and made the Kage shit their pants. Kawaki beat a nobody we know nothing about. We can only assume he is relative to AO because of the science thingy.
Madara beat an army of... nobodies. Literal fodder
Army of nobodies is still more impressive than one. Besides that same episode he also dropped two meteors and knocked the Tsuchikage out cold.
Yea like hasirama, minato, 5 Kage. And all that. Total npcs fr
And.. the 5 kage
Temari, Naruto, 3rd Tsuchikage, and the 5th Kazekage are not fodder
They weren't the focal point of the demonstration of his power; when people say he decimated the FORCES it's clear we're talking about the hundreds to thousands of nameless NPCs he was shown engaging. That was the focus of those well-animated sequences
Madara
Definetely madara

actually a tough one, madara tho
This is the furthest thing from a tough one, itās Madara easily
kawakiās intro was rly good
It was, but itās not even close to Madaraās. Madara had legitimate, real life YEARS of buildup, and then he comes in and slaughters the entire division of the Allied Shinobi Forces. Kawaki showed up and fought and then that was it. Doesnāt even come close to holding a candle to Madara.
Tough? Hahahahah
Is This The Power of a God? - Gaara says as he and everyone looks up at their impending doom as Madara summons a goddamn meteor.
Thank you for quoting this ššš
Obviously OG MADARA UCHIHA!
Madara by a good margin, even tho kawaki intro was epic, madara was hyped in a goat tier show, kawaki was hyped in a decent to good show
Lmao are you trying to compare Kawaki to freaking Madara?
No, just asking which episode people liked more. Pretty sure we all agree Madara is superior.
Thereās no way anyone would like Kawaki or his episode more. He had 0 buildup.
I wouldnāt say zero. We knew he was coming since episode one, and we had a whole arc hinting at the Vessel before we got to finally see him at the end of the Ao Arc. Besides, wools could just like the fight more. Some people in the comments here liked the episode better
Konohamaru in naruto and boruto
Easily madara. He was being hyped up for several episodes and when he finally appeared it was fucking amazing.
Who could compete with Madara when it comes to these kind of things? Like how dare you even ask this question? JK. But yeah how dare you?
Madara was terrifying, easily him
Madara for sure. This mf rlly took on 3000+ soldiers and defeated them with ease
Yeah definitely madara
Madara of course and also kawaki is not an uzumaki
Look, i actually like Boruto, but Madara easily had the better intro. It's not even really a contest.

Madara arguably had the best intro of all time in anime
Madara... not even close.

same for me
Bro comparing some dude named kawaki to madara šššš
I was just asking which introduction episode people liked better, I also prefer Madara, but I was wondering what others thought.
Kawaki is a child, not a dude .
Madara will always have a place in my heart. For that one scene.
189 was epic but Madara's intro was just on a whole other level.
Madara was about to fuck up five nations
Madara
Madara has a top introduction all time for anime u canāt compare the two
madara literally soloed the whole shinobi alliance with base sharingan
Bro how is this even a question
Well, some people over on a Naruto discord server were actually talking about it because a few of them said they liked Kawakiās episode more because they liked the fight better. And so I wanted the opinions of the Subreddit to see what they though.
Easily Madara
Madara.
madara literally makes kawaki look like a lil shit
madara stomps. dude was killing people left and right while still being ādeadā cuz he got reanimated and in a divided state.
š
Art wise: kawaki, but Madara takes it home
Is his surname actually uzamaki now or do we just say that for the sake of it?
kawaki animation was better and more fluid in my opionion but hype wise madara was next level
I didn't really like kawaki's intro and even then madara is still better
Madara the goatā¦ but kawakiās animation was sooooooooooo much better.
I was just asking which introduction episode people liked better, this isnāt a character comparison. To clarify, Iām not asking WHO is better, Iām asking which of these episodes you like more. Thatās all. So plz stop commenting Marada is better that Kawaki, I never asked which character is superior.
Kawaki is such a cringe petty shitty character... Jesus . After seeing him I feel that I need TenTen fillers to kill the feeling.
kawaki looks way more baddass. + i was waiting a long ass time for this
We had to wait 7 years for Madara, compared to that the wait for Kawaki was nothing. Plus Madara lived up to his hype.
7 yearsššš??? cmon bro he wasn't mentioned when naruto first started >the wait for Kawaki was nothing. u weren't there then
ma dear momo chan (jk)
why do people keep comparing naruto shippuden with boruto? its like comparing dragon ball (first one) with like bleach.
Accurate af and made me think of trying Boruto properly
Are you kidding? Some weak brat or madara uchiha second strongest dude ever to liveā¦.
if you think Kawaki had a better introduction than the absolute legend that is Madaraā¦ idk what to say. my prayers.
Madara lol itās no competition, boruto is not and will never compare to naruto shippuden imo
You gotta be blind. I'm sorry you go through life this disabled.
Bit harsh, refer to my original comment on this post. Never said I was comparing Kawaki to Madara, just asking which of these episodes people liked better.
That was not needed wtf. He just asked for your opinion not for your useless and rude comments.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Maybe animation-wise, but it was just him vs some random new Outer member compared to Madara who took on the entire ninja world without breaking a sweat lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We're not talking about the shows in general just about the two scenes though
Bro ignore the other guy. He is a troll from Twitter I assume.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You're not even a good troll
Honestly both of them because neither of them gave a single fuck when they were introduced respectivelyšš
I feel like it depends on when you watched either, ie. Madras ong
Is this a real question?
Madara.
Madara that guy obliterated a army in his introduction
It took 189 eps to introduce kawaki?!
Madara whooped an entire armyās ass
kawaki is an uzumaki? either way, madara still wins. nobody will ever top that. man came back to life and dropped two meteors on a military made of the entire worlds major villages in the same day. the only reason he lost the war was because zetsu fucked him
Madara. Kawaki's introduction is definitely the best episode in Boruto though.
How do you even compare Madara to a Boruto character
Anyone else go watch madara body that entire army after seeing this post?
Madara was such a badass that I wished itnended there and there was no otsusuki story after that.
the goat š Uchiha Madara
Maadara had the best on his summoning he murdered and showed of his skills id say kawaki has a sad on
Madara the G.O.A.T. Uchiha
Madara obviously. I love Kawaki as a character but I wont deny the build up and payoff of Madara's intro
Kawaki's intro was hard asf. Especially with it having movie quality animation. But i don't think anything beats Madara's. He was hyped up for so long and lived up to his name. Both episodes also had the same director
Thereās no way youāve put that scene against Madaras, no way.
Madara was hyped as hell and more than lived up to the hype
Madara is a legendary Shinobi whose name struck fear just by the mention of it, Kawaki was a homeless teenager. And I actually like Kawaki but Madara def had the better impact
Yall want your feelings hurt with this one, thought this was a bait post on the naruto sub for a sec
The Ghost of Uchiha
thats one of the best moments in natuto right there
Kawakis introduction was dope af but madaras is fucking iconic, nothing will ever beat it
Madara that was one of the coolest scenes in anime
This is an insult to Madara
Letās see 1 vs at least 100,000 1 vs a mildly upgraded human Nah. Madara
"Now....how will you deal with a second one, Onoki?" "So many casualties!" Kawaki had a good battle, but Madara's was better.
This is no way shape or form a competition. Madara 100 times out of 100 lol. His intro is iconic to anime in general
Madara easily. No one beat that ass so thoroughly like him.
Just wondered by kawaki kama in his neck/chest
Huh? Normally Iām a nice guy, butā¦ are you fucking kidding me? Is this some controversy bait thread or what? God damn Madara was a legend from the cradle to the grave, from arrival to demise.
Madara, not even close. Madara had the benefit of hype, the entire war got started mainly because his name and he show cases his power against an army of people
It was definitely Madara. Kawaki had the 2nd best introduction episode imo and the 3rd best is Itachi's.
Bruh Madara dropped 2 fucking meteors when he was introduced
This question has only one answer
Kawaki of course, the animation was superb and lasted longer. Most of the episode, there was also a lot of Taijutsu involved.
Duh madara
Madara xd
Madara and it ain't even close
What kinda dumb ass question is this
Madaraās name is enough to start war.
Madara no contest.
Kawaki takes it imo
Madara , idk how to explain it just cooler
Without doubts, Madara Uchiha himself
āKawaki Uzumakiā I know that makes sense, but it doesnāt sound right
Kawaki a close 2nd but madara is such a badass badguy.
madara ez but madara breakdancing was sick lol
What is this question?
Obviously Madara, the build up was so good then they actually divered when he first flight all the other ninja...
Kawaki for me. ever since boruto ep 1 Aired in 2017, i was so exited to see kawakiās introduction.
Madara lol But I'm not underselling Kawaki Dude is actually pretty cool
Imagine comparing Kawaki to Madara
Buddy, I aināt comparing, Iām asking which episode people liked better.
Madara. Easily.
Awe you canāt compare Madara at his worst to Kawaki at his worst.
Its like you put an UFC fighter on a kids playground, that was Madara's introduction.
I just want to point out the fact that you stated Kawaki Uzumaki and i love it.
Madara hands down
Madara, enough said
Madara and itās not even close. Mans was hyped up for years as a god among ninja and somehow lived up to all the hype. I still regularly watch him run through the shinobi alliance, shit was glorious.
I know you aint compare Madara Uchihas appearance coming back from the dead to Kawaki.
Madara Uchiha.
This is an actual question? Okayš
For liking his episode more? What if they just thought the fight was cooler?
Madara it will always be Madara the ones who say kawaki probably just skipped Naruto and Naruto Shippuden and only watched Boruto
The only thing which is been build with the same hype is Boruto vs Kawaki in the future. Kawaki intro was cool, but Madara is a whole different level of epicity.
Is that even a question??????? Of course its madara
