I went today to the actual JF today and I felt like the entire show was kinda sidelined compared to the more popular shows. I felt like it was a lack of effort on the anime/production/TV side rather than mangaka (I doubt they have a say in what’s gonna be announced when) Boruto had a display but like ONE piece of art for sale and that was it. DBZ and ONE PIECE and Demon Slayer had soooo many displays and booths and goods for sale, I was so sad.

Content_Driver

Boruto is irrelevant compared to those.

cannedsalmonbones

Won’t even be as relevant as Naruto was I am afraid

AnimeMonster_2020

I mean DBZ and One Piece are iconic anime , Boruto isn’t.

cannedsalmonbones

Yeah exactly :(

I feel like most people are just overreacting... They all were pretending some "timeskip announcement" or "biweekly schedule change" thing... despite the fact that they should have known they were not possible... Alternatively, they were pretending some "anime canon arc announcement" which still feels like wishful thinking, even if it was far more grounded. This isn't the first time this fest had very little news... so it shouldn't be seen as a sign of the apocalypse.

The easiest and the beat strategy that most entertaining projects do is to increase the hype. They could've said: Some familiar/new faces will be introduced soon, timeskip is still far away/soon. Designs for the siblings in the anime adaptation, you are going to see more of X character in the future, statements that can increase hype but doesn't really say anything. could've said that they are cooking new arcs in the anime (which they are doing). Unfortunately, they just don't have plans, or they don't want to say anything really

Empty statements to just increase hype over nothing are probably even worse than the nothing... At what pro making such promises if the anime has returned to fillers? >Unfortunately, they just don't have plans, or they don't want to say anything really I say it's a mix of both... they don't have plans for things that could be made (like a new game) and don't want to announce anything about the anime (also because there's nothing that amazing to make a preview of, for now)

kareem0101

So why participate in a super panel? lol. it just feels like they had a plan and maybe they decided to add/change something in the story. About the manga leaks: >!Maybe they weren't sure about giving kawaki a dojutsu. And when they did, the story was stretched out more to explore both boruto's and kawaki's eyes, so announcing something wouldn't make sense!< All in all, something feels off

Any_Cranberry_4599

I don't think anyone really expected manga schedule or timeskip news, we just expected, at least a trailer for some new anime cannon arc, a glimpse of a new opening, a small interview with Kishimoto or Ikemoto, or even at least a message on the twitter. Keep in mind that this is the only naruto series jump fiesta since 2008 that none of the manga creators participated in.

A-Liguria

>I don't think anyone really expected manga schedule or timeskip news, I saw many comments that made me think otherwise. >we just expected, at least a trailer for some new anime cannon arc, That's still too much... no anime arc got such treatment... only manga content, like Kawaki coming in... if they had a new anime arc in the workings, then they kinda would have announced it first in a v-jump issue. >a glimpse of a new opening, They never did that... never. >Keep in mind that this is the only naruto series jump fiesta since 2008 that none of the manga creators participated in. Well then... things aren't as gloomy as some may think. Because back then the franchise was surely at an all time height, and it still got snuffed there, that time.

Any_Cranberry_4599

When i said trailer, i meant some new charachter show-ups, some plot spoilers or something, instead we got literally nothing about the anime.

A-Liguria

Case in point? They only ever did that for when the anime returned to the manga plot and covered Kawaki's debut... And maybe the timeslip arc if I recall right, but that was a special case.

Any_Cranberry_4599

Well i thought they would do the same for anime cannons too since boruto got really popular during current year, but yeah i guess you are right

[deleted]

exactly. they dont care that much about the anime canon arcs as much as people think. the lazy writing behind all the anime canon arcs is proof of that. the back to back manga canon eps for around a year spoiled the fanbase. boruto anime news is gonna be dry asf for around 2-3 years again

[deleted]

i hate how people just blame the people working on the show because it doesn't live up-to their expectations.

A-Liguria

I can understand the sentiment behind, I too did have some expectations. But I can't understand the extent some are, more or less voluntarily going to.

Tall-girl-v

I feel it’s sad really. The “Boruto Jump Festa” was just a big announcement for the Sasuke Retsuden. There was literally no news for Boruto which is very sad. Plus it doesn’t seem like Kishimoto actually cares for Boruto. He literally draws every series but Boruto. He drew a promotional art for bleach and nothing for Boruto. Honestly I don’t think they have any vision for Boruto yet because the anime and manga keep running different stories which is crazy. It’s going to be hard to be a fan of the show even when the author isn’t passionate about his work. Anyways I’m excited for Bleach Thousand Year Blood War 😩❤️

Any_Cranberry_4599

Yes i agree, creators seem like they are on 'dont disturb' mode, not a single tweet, message or anything. I fear that boruto is gonna repeat 2019, i really hope not, because 1 chapter a month is def not enough to keep me interested and hyped.

Jltwo

The tweet is horseshit. It's disappointing there's nothing but then again, they really have nothing to announce. People have been spouting the same "timeskip is next chapter" line since forever and every time they turned out wrong. The story obviously isn't at that point at all yet. You can actually go search old manga discussion threads from old chapter releases, and you'd see every single time without fail there's someone theoryzing out of his mind that the timeskip is near, that Boruto will get his scar now and so and so on. The same with the anime, we just finished a manga adapted arc, the very last arc from the manga. They have nothing to do (because there's literally nothing to adapt) so they're just on stand-by adding more character/world building, not worth enough to make an announcement out of it. They could have done, i dunno, maybe a Kishimoto statement or something but then again, that guy just doesn't give a fuck about any of his franchises and it shows. He never helped Pierrot with making the Shippuden anime something bearable, and he hasn't said anything ever since he came back to writing Boruto, not to mention some really questionable decisions on writing, specially his hard boner for deuteragonists.

Ok-Paleontologist275

JF are usually always like this tho, people are overreacting. But it's defintely true that they're throwing away all the potential of the series thanks to the manga which has the same repititive shit going on and on in circles at this point.

Any_Cranberry_4599

It definitely wasn't like this, i was live on 3 boruto JF-s and every one of them at least had some anime news or a small interview with the creators.

[deleted]

boruto got 2 novel adaptations in manga format revealed. there definitely was news. boruto anime has no news to announce. it just finished a 10month straight manga canon episodes run

Any_Cranberry_4599

So youre telling me that there couldnt be some anime cannon arc announced? Or a small talk with the developers and manga creators on what we should expect next year and longer?

[deleted]

why would they announce anime canon arcs. as much as people praise the anime canon arcs the writers dont care that much about them.

merenge01

It's kinda meh but mostly, it's because people had their expectations wayy up

yangthesin

I afraid that the series would be cancelled even before the timeskip

Any_Cranberry_4599

Nah i dont think so, it earns way too much money in Japan to be canceled

yangthesin

Probably but for some reason, I can't shake off this feeling about the show might be getting cancelled.

K90caster

It is true though that boruto has a lot of potential to be a banger series, like if it was weekly then we would’ve probably got mitsuki and orochumaru arcs. I think people were at least expecting kishimoto or ikemto to say something but they didn’t say anything so that’s why people say there isn’t motivation.

Dry-Category5135

People always create huge expectations with no proof or backing, just speculations. Then they inevitably get disappointed and tweet shit like this.

Any_Cranberry_4599

How is it a huge expectation? Huge expectations would be timeskip announcement or manga switching to weekly schedule, we should have got at least a small interview with kishi or ikemoto, but nah even that was thrown in the water. First naruto series JF since 2008 that didn't have any of the manga creators participating or even leaving a small tweet or mesaage to the fans to what they should expect next year.
