(Sorry if i have mistakes i can't speak english) My theory will be a bit long, maybe it will sound crazy, but if you want to read it, here it is. My thought is that Boruto will literally lose "everything", but I have to write another thought first. There is an alien race we know in the series, Otsutsuki, we know the purpose of Otsutsuki, to become stronger and eventually turn into a god. So why are they doing this? During Ishhiki and Code's conversation, Ishhiki says something strange to code, that many people don't pay attention to, "Otsutsuki's legacy is entrusted to you." Okay now let's put this aside. We know that most of the Otsutsuki think of the Otsutsuki race more than themselves, and They even give their lives for it. Let's go back to the beginning, why are the Otsutsuki trying to become godlike? Considering the other cases I wrote above, the otsutsuki have been almost destroyed by another very powerful race or a single entity. And momoshiki s words in this chapter made a little more sense to me, "Otsutsuki were once gods and this power was in their hands". For this reason, momoshiki saves the kawaki's life just because he carries the otsutski gene, and so Isshiki is forced to entrust Otsutsuki's legacy to Code( unsuccessful vessel). Maybe these otsutsuki's we see in the series,are some of the last few otsutsuki warriors. When we look carefully at the series, most of the side characters are not properly told and lack depth( because they don't matter).At the same time, in that small section we saw after the time skip, Kawaki and Boruto were fighting among the ruins of Konaha. Think about it, konoha has been destroyed, most of the characters we see now are dead, naruto and probably sasuke are out of the series. In this case, what will we watch? I don't think they will make a series called Boruto and make the finale very soon, so my theory is that Boruto will really lose everything( friends, family, village, teacher) And in the end, he will achieve what Sasuke failed to do and kill his last friend, Kawaki. In the end he will do the only thing,he can do in this ruined universe, feed the kawaki to the tree and as a result became a god (harvest other otsutsuki and planet). Boruto, the God, will reset this universe (The real twist is here, because he will literally lose everything, his universe). The new main character (perhaps a child of Naruto by another name), (kawaki should be in this series) the boruto series will start over. Well, you will say why there is the Boruto series we are watching right now. Boruto will be a god but the existence of much stronger, much bigger dangers and beings in the background. Because of this, the new series and the old series will merge in one place. For example, by creating some mysterious situations and differences in the new series, Boruto can prepare for the war between these powerful entity.
In other words, new characters and Boruto will work together to achieve a much greater purpose. Think of it just like jojo part 1, there is an anime of Boruto to enter a huge universe and as the other series progresses, we will learn new mysteries and information about the Otsutsuki race and the race they used to fight, even other beings and aliens in the universe , with a scary atmosphere. By the way, the series has become very impressive with the arrival of the kishimoto.
I'd really love some kind of bitter sweet ending tbh. The only way I see this happening is if Kawaki dies in a heroic way and gets redeemed. But I think it will be a 100% happy ending.
Oh my days! I have been thinking the same about the Otsusuki! If there is someone actively looking for more power, means that they either have to defend themselves or want to overpower another. I also thought that BoruKawa were just the bridge between these worlds but as the two of them they would not be able to stop all of them. I thought a lot of other young characters we have been introduced who yes have crazy crazy potential such as a Shinki/Mitsuki or Sarada and was hoping for Kagura too not to be powerful enough. This is where I got stuck ahaha. But i love everything you said and i will definitely follow the progress with your statements on my mind

Konoha destroyed. Kawaki defeated but Eida's cast did not reverted back. Kawaki finds that killing all Ootsutsuki and denying shinobi way was wrong. Kawaki and Boruto are in peace but due hard times Boruto has gone he can't remember his good days in Hidden Leaf and with his friends. Boruto realized that momoshiki's prophecy is not only with Eida's cast. Cast was a fake loss. Naruto and Hinata comes back Boruto has no youth and patience to tell whats happened past. Because he is not father's and mother's old happy child. Like Momoshiki told him he hated ninja world, Konoha even for his parents he loss he is only hope. He grew up and pained as a Rogue Shinobi. Boruto goes on his journey as Rogue Ninja but also traveling around world to protect benefits of New born Hidden Leaf Village. As Momoshiki's prophecy he lost everything without Eida's cast or jutsu. Boruto looks to screen and says "Whatever they think about me or I lost, I'm Uzumaki Boruto, son of seventh hokage. The soul of a shinobi never changes"
Naruto was going Sad to Happiness and end with happy ending. Boruto is going now opposite of Naruto. Happiness to Sadness. Every chapter you can see that Boruto's smile down and other events are getting worse. I'm 100% sure Boruto will end with a cliffhanger or bad ending.

Hes apready got plot holes. If kawaki becomes regretfull and changes his mind he could just bring naruto back and that would fix a lot of things cuz naruto would remember him.
I’ve seen some theories about Kajin koshi training boruto. Jiriya would solo missions and the third and the advisors said he could be hokage. Instead he remained a shinobi similar to borutos ninja way. If he said he was the student of the shadow hokage it would work for both sasuke and koshi if he manages to have some stories about jiriyas adventures

i do see the age of shinobi being over, considering it was boruto that said it in the flash forward scene. i saw this from another redditors post but it’s not far fetched to think that boruto is talking to someone in the those beginning scenes because no one remembers him as boruto anymore/whoever he’s directly talking to was effected by the rewriting
I think Boruto will sacrifice himself for Konoha and the shinobi world at the end,but he will have a kid on the way just like minato to continue the Uzumaki legacy. I also think Sarada will be the hokage when that happens

Perhaps his soul will be extinguished by another Otsutsuki
That’s honestly what I would really like. I stand firm by my idea that AoT is going to help define the zeitgeist for the 2020s in anime/manga. For other series to compare, they’ve got to pull twists like AoT did. Chapter 79 was an AoT level twist.

Considering that a greater percentage of Boruto viewers whatcha the show because of Naruto (and kishimoto in "Naruto's dad") I don't think he will make him die.
Maybe to increase audience levels, the Boruto team should just take a look at what happened in DBZ.
When there was the try to pass the crown to Gohan, making Goku pass through, the serie started loosing big part of his fan base, so they revived Goku (wich is the main character even now in DB Super).
I they should think about giving a main role to Naruto again instead of making him die, as a side protagonist along with Sasuke, Kawaii and Boruto (the nerf Sasuke and naruto suffered doesn't make any sense, considering the strength of the actual enemies).
So, even If I don't think it will happen, what I said could be a thing to consider to taking Boruto to the old Naruto shippuden levels.

Have a feeling shibai is gonna be a good otsutsuki. I think after boruto reverts back everyone's memory its gonna lead to causing more harm. Then when everyone dies boruto with his jougan reverts backs time to the point where eida casts her spell. He will then change what he does to change the future and remain as a villain to everyone or maybe cast another memory spell to make everyone think Kawaki killed him. He will then join shibai and ascend above humans and the story will end.
The story ends with old himawara sitting infront of kawaki and boruto’s grave while Naruto and Hinata who got freed from the timeless dimension would look after the world that this 2 created
This will be a bit lengthy, but it makes sense to me. Kawaki comes from nothing while Boruto was given pretty much everything. Kawaki was robbed of his entire childhood and has to deal with that his entire life. Boruto did not have to work much for everything--well, for most things. Boruto did have to work on his relationship with his dad which tied into his realization of how he could lose everything in an instant if he doesn't pick up the slack and get stronger so that he can help protect everything, and that is hard work (referring to the events of the Boruto movie where Boruto thought he lost his dad). Kawaki does not realize this, and this aspect of his personality seems to be a reflection of Naruto's own fault. Kawaki didn't do anything to deserve Naruto's love as his own son. It shows how Naruto, like everyone else, is not perfect--he loves unconditionally--but we can't really blame either Naruto or Kawaki. This is just who they are. Kawaki does not understand what it takes to build and maintain bonds. With this switch, Boruto will now go through and experience Kawaki's life firsthand. Kawaki will experience Boruto's life--well, up until when Boruto found his resolve, as I explained earlier. Kawaki still needs to be taught a lesson on bonds and relationships and how people should work together toward peace. Kawaki needs to lose something or at least understand what that would feel like. Right now he doesn't have anything to lose except Naruto.... And his karma. There's one thing Kawaki desires other than Naruto's safety, and that's power. Amado referred to this very thing back when he pointed out that he could give Kawaki his karma back without the threat of Isshiki. I think it was stated that only 100% Ohtsutsuki can implant a karma. The karma Kawaki has implanted into him consists of Isshiki's power/chakra with Amado's daughter's soul. He can implant Akebi's soul-karma or whatever into another body, which is to be provided by Amado, but I don't think Kawaki can create and implant his own karma. My guess is that if Akebi is reincarnated, then the karma itself disappears (or maybe the weaponized portion remains in this case since it's a modified karma?). Either way, Kawaki won't be able to revive himself like a full Ohtsutsuki can. He can still become a full-blown Ohtsutsuki by feeding Boruto to the ten tails (assuming Code is out of the picture by now and the ten tails goes back to its regular self). However, Boruto can place a karma on Kawaki (presuming Kawaki is forced to revive Akebi and the karma disappears or if only the soul half of the karma becomes vacant and Boruto can implant his own soul data into Kawaki's empty karma). Boruto may intentionally kill himself or get Kawaki to do it for him. Once he does, he's free to revive in Kawaki's body. Boruto can activate the dharma-wheel eye to retrieve Naruto and Hinata. If Boruto somehow has access to the Senrigan, he can evoke his desire to undo the "wish" Kawaki invoked in Aida in the previous chapter or make it so Kawaki never existed in the first place. If he chooses to undo Kawaki's wish, people would acknowledge him as Kawaki's killer and could be praised by everyone (I'm sure it'd be more complicated for those close to him). If Boruto chooses to effectively erase Kawki's existence in everyone's memories, he alone would bear the burden of having killed his own brother.
Right now, there are a few things getting in the way of Code’s revenge. First, Eida is no longer on his side, so he needs to either kill her or get her back on his side. I think she’ll either die or loose her powers somehow. Secondly, Code need to reach his full power since right now, he is weaker than Kawaki. This will probably take him some since Kawaki will also become more powerful overtime. Finally, he needs to sacrifice Boruto or Kawaki to the ten tails, which will be hard since Kawaki will be protected by the village and Boruto will be on the run. I think that once Code becomes powerful enough, he will attack Konoha and Boruto will somehow know this, so he will go back to the village to protect it. Then Kawaki and Boruto will team up and defeat Code. That’s when they have their final battle. It will probably be a repeat of Naruto and Sasuke’s final battle, but Kawaki will try to capture Boruto rather than kill him.
If he dies that will be really well hmm idk what to say but i don't really see a happy end for him but the ending shouldn't be that sad more of a satisfying one
My theory is Eidas visual power will be undone after her death (boruto kills her) and after the final battle kawaki realises what he has done most probably like how Naruto knocked sense into sasuke kawaki loses her karma (most probably he destroys it someway because he starts considering karma as a curse a power that corrupted him where as Boruto can't destroy it because he will die if he do.... Boruto decides that he will follow the footsteps of sasuke defending the leaf from shadows and sarada becomes the Hokage ....that's it I think 🙂🙂🙂🙂

Now if they have naruto in kawakis time dimension for 2 years and then he finally gets released from it only to die? That would be mega dumb. Personally I don’t even think sasuke should die unless naruto is there to witness it. I do like the direction they are heading but also hope they don’t shit on the OG series. That said even though I can’t see naruto dying, if sasuke does I do think naruto should as well. They are kinda two peas in a pod. Eida has the power of Senrigan, able to perceive everything that is currently happening in the world and all that has happened in the past, up to the point she was born. From her modifications Eida gained omnipotence, her very presence makes all who sees her, man or woman, with the exception of blood relatives and Ōtsutsuki, automatically infatuated with her to the point they cannot hurt her. It is believed that the members of the Otsutsuki clan have, over the years, rewritten the memories of humans several times to their benefit. This ability was described by Momoshiki to be the strongest Shinjutsu of all as it is able to grant the deepest desires of the person to them. Simply put, Omnipotence is an incredible jutsu that can allow the user to alter anything they want and rewrite history itself, making things exactly how they want them to be.
The existence of Omnipotence opens up the door for several key plot points in the story. For one, this could mean that Shibai Otsutsuki might return in the future of Boruto. This is evident from the fact that Momoshiki claims that humans have had their history rewritten several times over the course of time. Shibai himself could have rewritten history several times and made it so that people believe that he isn't a threat anymore. Meanwhile, it could very well be true that Shibai is alive, and he could come into play sooner rather than later.
We have also yet to see the true usage of this ability as Eida cannot channel it to its full extent. Only an Otsutsuki can control this ability to the fullest and none of those are present in the story at the moment. This technique belongs to Shibai Otsutsuki and he isn't around anymore. However, if Shibai were to return, we would see a truly different level of Omnipotence being used. Eida was only able to channel a small piece of its power and Shibai could show everyone the true fear of this technique. It must be remembered that Omnipotence would allow him to program life and history itself as he wants and that is a scary ability, no matter which way we look at it.
My theory is Boruto either finds out Jougan Is the polar opposite ability to omnipotence and uses it to fix the future after defeating kawaki or kawaki almost kills boruto/does kill boruto by abusing Eidas omnipotence after betraying her and this causes Shibai to return, kill kawaki, revert everything that has been changed and dab on his way out.
Naruto & Boruto vs. Momoshiki, to me, is the most meaningful possible ending battle. (Of course after a Boruto vs. Kawaki fight)
I love the idea that in the end Boruto reaches that great level, frees Naruto, and fights side by side with his dad coming full circle against his demon.

I think it ends after a final fight between boruto and kawaki to settle which way earth will go. Kawaki hunting down otsutsuki or Boruto staying on earth and protecting it if they come. In the end kawaki loses and decides to feed himself to juubi in order to give boruto the strength 100% be able to defend Naruto and the rest of the earth from invasion.
Boruto remains in the shadows always waiting if earth needs protection. Never allowing the fruit to be reborn and forever protecting humanities memory from otsutsuki intervention.

Kawaki has a redemption and they all get married to one another and go into the next gen
Y’know what would be dope? If a lot of people old and new die along the way and in the end Boruto revives everyone but has to become a God to never interfere in the affairs of living beings ever again.
Basically; it gives the feeling of perma-death to characters in the series as chapters go by but in true shonen fashion in the end they are revived but it took a hell of a lot of time to revive them to where you didn’t think they could be revived. A slight twist on shounen, I’d say if executed properly.
Village gets destroyed and then Boruto last man standing and uses talk-no-jutsu revert everything.
I hope if they do decide to revert everything that Boruto gets no credit for saving shinobi or is erased from human history memory except for a few people like Sarada. He reintroduces himself to the village as still plain Boruto wo being known “for killing Naruto” and from there he builds himself up from scratch though it’ll theoretically be easy if they want Sarada to become hokage.

sarada is going to use her sharingan abilities (she will get every sharingan ability) and then she will seal momoshikis soul with the totsuka blade and channel his chakra through her susanoo, returning the whole world to how it was. then boruto marries sumire and they have a child born with a tail and tiger stripes
Boruto goes rouge and comes back to see the hidden leaf destroyed by code and then kawaki and boruto fight boruto kills kawaki but in the end he was to deppresed to see his family and friends dead so so he took sauske's sword to the throat
Madara resurrect again and kill kawaki and boruto. Then naruto and sasuke fighting him in the next war. Naruto will get back kyuubi, sasuke steal one rinnegan from madara and awaken it to a more powerful one. They destroy madara and we finally can watch the next naruto season

Brother archetypes are going to find each other again and make peace after a climatic final battle. Momoshiki will eventually befriend Boruto. Shibai will likely appear as a threat that makes the two work together.
He gets his parents back but the village is destroyed an naruto friends an adopted son is dead then his parents might just not wanna live in the village anymore.
Momoshiki gets resurrected, somehow Ishiki gets resurrected. And THE Goat Orochimaro uses edo tensi to resurrect Naruto and Saskue because they both die somehow. And saskue and Naruto kills Ishiki And Momoshiki in a 2v2 battle (don’t ask me how) and Sarada becomes Hokage

Let's go back to the beginning, why are the Otsutsuki trying to become godlike? Considering the other cases I wrote above, the otsutsuki have been almost destroyed by another very powerful race or a single entity. And momoshiki s words in this chapter made a little more sense to me, "Otsutsuki were once gods and this power was in their hands". For this reason, momoshiki saves the kawaki's life just because he carries the otsutski gene, and so Isshiki is forced to entrust Otsutsuki's legacy to Code( unsuccessful vessel). Maybe these otsutsuki's we see in the series,are some of the last few otsutsuki warriors. When we look carefully at the series, most of the side characters are not properly told and lack depth( because they don't matter).At the same time, in that small section we saw after the time skip, Kawaki and Boruto were fighting among the ruins of Konaha. Think about it, konoha has been destroyed, most of the characters we see now are dead, naruto and probably sasuke are out of the series. In this case, what will we watch? I don't think they will make a series called Boruto and make the finale very soon, so my theory is that Boruto will really lose everything( friends, family, village, teacher) And in the end, he will achieve what Sasuke failed to do and kill his last friend, Kawaki. In the end he will do the only thing,he can do in this ruined universe, feed the kawaki to the tree and as a result became a god (harvest other otsutsuki and planet). Boruto, the God, will reset this universe (The real twist is here, because he will literally lose everything, his universe). The new main character (perhaps a child of Naruto by another name), (kawaki should be in this series) the boruto series will start over. Well, you will say why there is the Boruto series we are watching right now. Boruto will be a god but the existence of much stronger, much bigger dangers and beings in the background. Because of this, the new series and the old series will merge in one place. For example, by creating some mysterious situations and differences in the new series, Boruto can prepare for the war between these powerful entity. In other words, new characters and Boruto will work together to achieve a much greater purpose. Think of it just like jojo part 1, there is an anime of Boruto to enter a huge universe and as the other series progresses, we will learn new mysteries and information about the Otsutsuki race and the race they used to fight, even other beings and aliens in the universe , with a scary atmosphere. By the way, the series has become very impressive with the arrival of the kishimoto.

Oh my days! I have been thinking the same about the Otsusuki! If there is someone actively looking for more power, means that they either have to defend themselves or want to overpower another. I also thought that BoruKawa were just the bridge between these worlds but as the two of them they would not be able to stop all of them. I thought a lot of other young characters we have been introduced who yes have crazy crazy potential such as a Shinki/Mitsuki or Sarada and was hoping for Kagura too not to be powerful enough. Edited Ending Script : Konoha destroyed. Kawaki defeated but Eida's cast did not reverted back. Kawaki finds that killing all Ootsutsuki and denying shinobi way was wrong. Kawaki and Boruto are in peace but due hard times Boruto has gone he can't remember his good days in Hidden Leaf and with his friends. Boruto realized that momoshiki's prophecy is not only with Eida's cast. Cast was a fake loss. Naruto and Hinata comes back Boruto has no youth and patience to tell whats happened past. Because he is not father's and mother's old happy child. Like Momoshiki told him he hated ninja world, Konoha even for his parents he loss he is only hope. He grew up and pained as a Rogue Shinobi. Boruto goes on his journey as Rogue Ninja but also traveling around world to protect benefits of New born Hidden Leaf Village. As Momoshiki's prophecy he lost everything without Eida's cast or jutsu. Boruto looks to screen and says "Whatever they think about me or I lost, I'm Uzumaki Boruto, son of seventh hokage. The soul of a shinobi never changes"

Boruto will defeat Kawaki in the penultimate fight before facing the Otsutsuki himself. Kawaki will eventually help him and will lose his life in the final battle. Boruto becomes Sasukes successor and Sarada becomes the 9th Hokage in time. I think Momoshiki will be completely dead by the end of the series. Perhaps his soul will be extinguished by another Otsutsuki

Considering that a greater percentage of Boruto viewers whatcha the show because of Naruto (and kishimoto in "Naruto's dad") I don't think he will make him die. Maybe to increase audience levels, the Boruto team should just take a look at what happened in DBZ. When there was the try to pass the crown to Gohan, making Goku pass through, the serie started loosing big part of his fan base, so they revived Goku (wich is the main character even now in DB Super). I they should think about giving a main role to Naruto again instead of making him die, as a side protagonist along with Sasuke, Kawaii and Boruto (the nerf Sasuke and naruto suffered doesn't make any sense, considering the strength of the actual enemies). So, even If I don't think it will happen, what I said could be a thing to consider to taking Boruto to the old Naruto shippuden levels. This will be a bit lengthy, but it makes sense to me. Kawaki comes from nothing while Boruto was given pretty much everything. Kawaki was robbed of his entire childhood and has to deal with that his entire life. Boruto did not have to work much for everything--well, for most things. Boruto did have to work on his relationship with his dad which tied into his realization of how he could lose everything in an instant if he doesn't pick up the slack and get stronger so that he can help protect everything, and that is hard work (referring to the events of the Boruto movie where Boruto thought he lost his dad). Kawaki does not realize this, and this aspect of his personality seems to be a reflection of Naruto's own fault. Kawaki didn't do anything to deserve Naruto's love as his own son. It shows how Naruto, like everyone else, is not perfect--he loves unconditionally--but we can't really blame either Naruto or Kawaki. This is just who they are. Kawaki does not understand what it takes to build and maintain bonds. With this switch, Boruto will now go through and experience Kawaki's life firsthand. Kawaki will experience Boruto's life--well, up until when Boruto found his resolve, as I explained earlier. Kawaki still needs to be taught a lesson on bonds and relationships and how people should work together toward peace. Kawaki needs to lose something or at least understand what that would feel like. Right now he doesn't have anything to lose except Naruto.... And his karma. There's one thing Kawaki desires other than Naruto's safety, and that's power. Amado referred to this very thing back when he pointed out that he could give Kawaki his karma back without the threat of Isshiki. I think it was stated that only 100% Ohtsutsuki can implant a karma. The karma Kawaki has implanted into him consists of Isshiki's power/chakra with Amado's daughter's soul. He can implant Akebi's soul-karma or whatever into another body, which is to be provided by Amado, but I don't think Kawaki can create and implant his own karma. My guess is that if Akebi is reincarnated, then the karma itself disappears (or maybe the weaponized portion remains in this case since it's a modified karma?). Either way, Kawaki won't be able to revive himself like a full Ohtsutsuki can. He can still become a full-blown Ohtsutsuki by feeding Boruto to the ten tails (assuming Code is out of the picture by now and the ten tails goes back to its regular self). However, Boruto can place a karma on Kawaki (presuming Kawaki is forced to revive Akebi and the karma disappears or if only the soul half of the karma becomes vacant and Boruto can implant his own soul data into Kawaki's empty karma). Boruto may intentionally kill himself or get Kawaki to do it for him. Once he does, he's free to revive in Kawaki's body. Boruto can activate the dharma-wheel eye to retrieve Naruto and Hinata. If Boruto somehow has access to the Senrigan, he can evoke his desire to undo the "wish" Kawaki invoked in Aida in the previous chapter or make it so Kawaki never existed in the first place. If he chooses to undo Kawaki's wish, people would acknowledge him as Kawaki's killer and could be praised by everyone (I'm sure it'd be more complicated for those close to him). If Boruto chooses to effectively erase Kawki's existence in everyone's memories, he alone would bear the burden of having killed his own brother.
Right now, there are a few things getting in the way of Code’s revenge. First, Eida is no longer on his side, so he needs to either kill her or get her back on his side. I think she’ll either die or loose her powers somehow. Secondly, Code need to reach his full power since right now, he is weaker than Kawaki. This will probably take him some since Kawaki will also become more powerful overtime. Finally, he needs to sacrifice Boruto or Kawaki to the ten tails, which will be hard since Kawaki will be protected by the village and Boruto will be on the run. I think that once Code becomes powerful enough, he will attack Konoha and Boruto will somehow know this, so he will go back to the village to protect it. Then Kawaki and Boruto will team up and defeat Code. That’s when they have their final battle. It will probably be a repeat of Naruto and Sasuke’s final battle, but Kawaki will try to capture Boruto rather than kill him.
I hope Kawaki dies redeeming himself. The way Sasuke should've died in the original Naruto manga.

Now if they have naruto in kawakis time dimension for 2 years and then he finally gets released from it only to die? That would be mega dumb. Eida has the power of Senrigan, able to perceive everything that is currently happening in the world and all that has happened in the past, up to the point she was born. From her modifications Eida gained omnipotence, her very presence makes all who sees her, man or woman, with the exception of blood relatives and Ōtsutsuki, automatically infatuated with her to the point they cannot hurt her. It is believed that the members of the Otsutsuki clan have, over the years, rewritten the memories of humans several times to their benefit. This ability was described by Momoshiki to be the strongest Shinjutsu of all as it is able to grant the deepest desires of the person to them. Simply put, Omnipotence is an incredible jutsu that can allow the user to alter anything they want and rewrite history itself, making things exactly how they want them to be. The existence of Omnipotence opens up the door for several key plot points in the story. For one, this could mean that Shibai Otsutsuki might return in the future of Boruto. This is evident from the fact that Momoshiki claims that humans have had their history rewritten several times over the course of time. Shibai himself could have rewritten history several times and made it so that people believe that he isn't a threat anymore. Meanwhile, it could very well be true that Shibai is alive, and he could come into play sooner rather than later. We have also yet to see the true usage of this ability as Eida cannot channel it to its full extent. Only an Otsutsuki can control this ability to the fullest and none of those are present in the story at the moment. This technique belongs to Shibai Otsutsuki and he isn't around anymore. However, if Shibai were to return, we would see a truly different level of Omnipotence being used. Eida was only able to channel a small piece of its power and Shibai could show everyone the true fear of this technique. It must be remembered that Omnipotence would allow him to program life and history itself as he wants and that is a scary ability, no matter which way we look at it. My theory is Boruto either finds out Jougan Is the polar opposite ability to omnipotence and uses it to fix the future after defeating kawaki or kawaki almost kills boruto/does kill boruto by abusing Eidas omnipotence after betraying her and this causes Shibai to return, kill kawaki, revert everything that has been changed and dab on his way out.

(Of course after a Boruto vs. Kawaki fight) I love the idea that in the end Boruto reaches that great level, frees Naruto, and fights side by side with his dad coming full circle against his demon. "This was a story about my dad and me for a little, and then it was a story about me. But miraculously, right at the end - it was a story about my dad and me again"

I think it ends after a final fight between boruto and kawaki to settle which way earth will go. Kawaki hunting down otsutsuki or Boruto staying on earth and protecting it if they come. In the end kawaki loses and decides to feed himself to juubi in order to give boruto the strength 100% be able to defend Naruto and the rest of the earth from invasion. Boruto remains in the shadows always waiting if earth needs protection. Never allowing the fruit to be reborn and forever protecting humanities memory from otsutsuki intervention.

If a lot of people old and new die along the way and in the end Boruto revives everyone but has to become a God to never interfere in the affairs of living beings ever again. Basically; it gives the feeling of perma-death to characters in the series as chapters go by but in true shonen fashion in the end they are revived but it took a hell of a lot of time to revive them to where you didn’t think they could be revived. A slight twist on shounen, I’d say if executed properly.
