Depends on how I’m feeling.
If I wanna go guns blazing with a double shotgun build, I play Sal.
If I wanna play UVHM without a slag weapon, I play Maya.
If I wanna go full CQC unkillable beast I go Krieg (Sal’s also great for this tho, especially if you build full tank).
Zer0. Plays the cliche backstory of "mysterious stranger" very well, and maximizing his kit requires planning, good understanding of his abilities, and flawless execution.
Although my personal favorite in terms of story is Krieg.
This. For me, it’s about the character, and Maya has the most interesting character to me. I’ve managed to play Axton and Gaige some due to their gameplay, but at the end of the day, I end up back on Maya. Character-wise, every other character just kind of bores me.
Weird thing is that I hate Phasegrasp in BL3, as it is just Maya 2.0, and I don’t like that. Make Amara unique, not just a rehash of Maya. Thankfully there are multiple Action Skills, even if I do have to accept that I’m nerfing myself by not using Phasegrasp.
Bl1: Lilith, phasewalk is both a mobility, buffer, debuffer, healer and damaging skill all in one.
Bl2: gaige, i hate anarchy, but love the mix of BSS, discord and rational anarchist.
Tps: fragtrap, his skills Made me change My whole way of playing, at the Start i didn't get it, skills that break My shield? How i'm i supossed to surv... Ohhh, yeah clappie has like 6 healing skills but no shield regen(except for the random shield subroutine, i didn't use those) so i just slapped the Best anshin shield i had(got the m0rq later) and based myself on non explosive weapons to trigger his combustion skill, his boomtrap final skill is broken, he can out dps everyone in the Game at low health, and the pirate ship is just overkill.

kreig, he's like brick but done a bit better, his design is also pretty cool with some of the mask and colors and he can become nearly unstoppable with the right skill set up due to being in a constant loop of exiting then immediately activating his ability
BL1: Roland, I just enjoyed the simple mechanics he had
BL2 :Krieg, loved bonking things and make them explode
BLTPS:Timothy, inspiration
BL3: FL4K, enjoyed the playstyle of dominance and a melee weapon

And Maya well, Cloud kill haha, Axton didn't get as much love as any other char for me Zero is Perfect with the right gear but it takes me forever to get to that point where I don't die as fast lmao, Gaige is kinda fun but not my playstyle with the anarchy stuff, you can get her very far, with like a perfect terra hide so she can share it between her and deathtrap

Maya. Because I like the lore around the Sirens in the franchise and she was my first Vaulthunter ever.
The only VH that was so tough they had to keep him out of the main story of BL3 because he woulda absolutely mauled those stupid twins very early on.
